they'll still need to edit the whole spriteset of the character. Just giving us creative color schemes is enough for Ougon. |

Okay, so making virtually everyone blond does not necessarily mean a lack of creativity. But still, it's overused like the anime overused "Suspicion."

Naturally, it'd take a lot of work, but I think an alternate costume option should be there.
Battlers alternate costume could be his Sorcerer cape, which would have it's own animation and crap. Give him a Keichii costume or something. Kanons alternate costume would be his coat from going to school with Jessica. Make his other costume Rena. Beatrice would have multiple alternate costumes, school Beatrice and Clair outfit. Bernkastel and Lambdadelta would be a bit harder, so I think simply dressing them up as Rika and Takano would suffice. Make the seven sisters and siestas obvious, I don't feel I need to explain that one. Ect. What this does: Cameo's higurashi. Saves Ryu from making clones, and even saves him from making higurashi characters. Adds diversity in the game more than a simple palette swap would ever do. |

The problem with alternate costumes such as casual clothes George is that it would take much more time to do than a simple palette color change. And remember they had until Winter Comiket to release OMKC (they could've delayed it though), and I think character balance/gameplay balance is much more important than cosmetics.
I wish they made it so you don't die from chip damage, shit is ridiculous... |

>>Japanese Game made by a Japanese man.
>>People surprised at all the blonde hair alts. Really? Yeah it sucks for variety, but everyone should be prepared and expect them. I'm sure we will see a color swap chooser eventually if the Japanese fans ask for it enough. |

I don't really see the point in alternative costumes? they'd be nice, yeah, but wouldn't they just double the time taken to actually make the game, given all those new sprites will need to be drawn? I think a palette swap is just easier on the game designers and will get everything done quicker.

giving us new and more creative colors is enough for a doujin fighter considering how much work it'd take to edit a character's whole spriteset. That or just give us a color editor. |
