It's totally understandable. I don't get the reason and it is the same every year... people who didn't know about the awards ask (because it is something so simple and logical...) and the ones who know... well, we are sad because every year we get less voters (and with the less use of forums is even worse...)

In this case, because I already know all the details of the event, I will go ahead and post the announcement.

I hope that will meet your satisfaction and finally end this long-time perceived grudge once and for all, okay?

Quick question: isn't Blame! missing from the list? I'm pretty sure that came out in May this year. Anyway, I've done my entries with that in mind. I also noticed that, technically, Naruto Shippuuden ended in 2017 as well. Not sure anyone wants to vote for it (though it would technically be eligible I believe)

I've had a lot of difficulty choosing entries this year. I've watched a alarmingly low number of shows and many of them were just "meh" with hardly anything that really stood out as worthy.

On the other hand I had a real hard time picking entries for the credits theme category. There are just so many good entries this year imho that I had to make some difficult choices.

Just Sangatsu no Lion had almost all 4 OP/ED sequences being stellar but, since that was abundantly clear to everyone, I figured it would probably be fine skipping them altogether and voting for others I consider equally worthy. Sadly that still meant leaving stuff I enjoyed on the cutting room floor like the 2nd ending to Ballroom, the OP for Youkoso Jitsuryoku Shijou Shugi no Kyoushitsu e or the insanely catchy one for Kobayashi-san no Maid Dragon.

Even Kuzo no Honkai, despite the flaws of the show itself, had pretty great OP/ED. the Re: Creators OPS were catchy but visually did nothing for me so those went out fast and the Love Live Sunshine ones were catchy and good looking but 100% by the book.

That left me with LWA with that lovely animation on the 2nd ED which I just had to pick, the Gamers OP that at one point in the season was actually the main reason I continued putting the show at the top of my queue (true story ) and the Houseki no Kuni one that was so vibrant that actually shows the limitations of streaming services and how compression can't keep up with the changing colors. It's really beautiful and has a great song as well. Go see if if you haven't.

For what it's worth I don't think you need to worry about the long term effects and implications anymore considering how quickly this forum is dying.
