This series have a lot of things that are unexplain, each episode just add more questions than answers. It just make me really curious.

It's only the sixth episode. I expect an explanation around the time the series reaches its second half.

I REALLY do not like Teppai.. he is such an agnsty little child. I get the weird feeling meeting your "father" for the first time, but what the hell man.

Well with that ending he will probably have the resolve to find and or rescue his father. Tho i'm starting to wonder if this organization with these kids really is "good".

There was a piece of fanart with Hana trying bellybutton forte in her dress, which is now amusingly prophetic.

The physics of using firearms in a freefall situation seem to have completely escaped the writers of this episode.

Maybe they'll get to kill the evil guy from Salty Dog next time? That would be nice.

Also fairly certain would there be a physics issue with projectiles like that in space with no gravity (To actually "aim" the bullet) i could be wrong i have no idea I was a history major in college not physics lol.

The protectile would fly pretty normally at the distances they were shooting at, but recoil would push the shooter back significantly because they don't have gravity to help brace themselves. Not only would it be much harder to aim for people who have done all their shooting living on a planet, but they'd be sent floating backwards into open air, accelerating with each shot, probably picking up a spin too since they weren't holding the guns directly over their center of mass.

It's fairly common to see firearms in SF books/movies (they usually say the weapons were modified to work fine in 0 G or don't even bother). It wouldn't be the strangest stuff in the anime on a physical standpoint anyway (SF is SF, wouldn't be if stuff were actually doable).

Captain earth isn't hard SF at all, therefore it's fine.

I loved the episode and the emphasis on love and family bonding with Teppei realizing he doesn't understand that but he craves for that. Very realistic reaction in general. His dad is voiced by Akira Ishida, huh?

Let's hope Hana gets some fleshing out next episode. She's the weakest link of the core cast so far. One can replace her with Pitz and make no difference plot wise.

It's not just him-- pretty much every character in this show (except perhaps the hacker chick) has the personality of a wet noodle. If there's anything interesting about this show then it's definitely not the characters.

Lately I've been thinking abou dropping this anime and this episode doesn't help. It was a good episode but some minor things I noticed turned me off and next episode seems like it's going to continue the trend. If this keeps going they way I think it will go then I'll drop it but fir now I'll force myself to watch it.

God you're right, and here I was just having really weird Kyousogiga flashbacks instead XD

Anyway, one of the lines in the episode really caught my ear and was wondering what everyone else made of it

Spoiler for :

I don't think that Teppei sees himself as human. So perceiving a human man as his father is inherently difficult for him. I think that largely explains/justifies how he carried himself in this episode, though admittedly he could have showed a bit more gratitude over his dad literally taking a bullet for him.

In any event, I think this all ties into the real idea behind this mission.

The protagonists of this show want Teppei to see himself as "one of them", and establishing strong connections between Teppei and various humans is a good way to help achieve that. It's better than relying on the Daichi connection alone.

I largely agree with Thess on Episode 5.

Damn, no wonder Daichi and the doctor needs some restraint... 'cause Hana might not wearing some underwear!

Stupid Akari!

Just few centimeters for second. I don't believe it's "significantly"

This ep felt very flat to me. All the emotional father moments comes off as forced to me because there was no build up towards this. We don't see anything from the perspective of teppei gene doner on why he is so emotionally attached to teppei Also teppei himself didn't care that much of meeting his gene doner.
