Heh. It's looking a bit more like these Suitors really don't know who they're messin' with again. Medaka does not even look worried. That's great.
Quite a large amount of development in this chapter...even random subtle things, like the fact that Kumagawa's All Fiction can't erase things associated with strong emotions (real emotions, versus "All Fiction", huh? Of course). I honestly wonder how this whole moon thing is gonna work...it's not like the Kurokami family has an actual base up there, right...? lol, it's gonna be interesting. I am definitely curious whether anybody over in Japan managed to figure that riddle out. Zenkichi opened up with a rather minor/complicated thing in bringing up the kanji reading of the last character, but looking over the rest of the message I think all of the other kanji should have had their standard readings. The only real jump in logic, then, was the idea of matching the hiragana characters in the message up with the names of Medaka Box characters. With 42 hiragana syllables and 6 names total, that's on average about ~7 syllables per name. I don't think there's really any logical train of thought that would lead to someone guessing at that possibility; it would have to be just some random flash of insight leading to the correct identification of one name, leading up from there. On the whole though, great stuff. |

Hi! I'm new to this forum and I haven't read anything on here yet, but I'm confused about a part in the manga. In the Student Council battles, it was Zenkichi vs Kumagawa in round 1, then Naze vs that other girl in round 2, and round 3 was a draw. But right after round 3 came out to a draw, one of the people said "So now it's 1 win, 1 loss, and 1 draw". My question is who lost? Zenkichi got Kumagawa to say that he gave up and any fighting after that was not part of the round. Naze burned the other girl's clothes off in round 2 so that was 2 wins. Am I wrong?

Read the end of Naze's battle again. Naze won initially, but during the battle Kumagawa made a promise that if Shibuki lost, the Minuses would leave the school. Medaka and the others initially wanted this to happen, but Koga stepped in and reminded Medaka of her "justice" which was to bring happiness to/help solve the troubles of anybody. Because of this change in perspective, instead of allowing Kumagawa and the Minuses to leave, Naze told the election arbitrator that she had actually stripped naked during the battle while modifying herself, thus technically losing the battle. That was the reason why Naze's victory came to be counted as a "loss".
