Before/After the massacre of the Uchiha he has a transplant or Jutsu procedure that leaves the scare. The earliest shot we've seen of Kakashi showed him with only his faced covered, and two normal (non-sharingan) eyes. This was when the 3rd had his little flashback and it showed teh 4th hokage and his team or genin, featuring Kakashi.

We see him get owned but the only true Sharingan succesor still around today: Itachi. He doesn't just get beaten. All it takes is a simple gaze into Kakashi's eye to have him screaming for mammy. If all Uchiha members had only half this power almost everybody would be toast in no-time.

Like I said he can beat Sasuke easy... And im sure they were weaker uchiha members then Sasuke there! I'm not saying he did so... I'm pretty sure he didn't because that is not Kakashi but if he kinda "felt" like it he could've killed Uchiha members pretty sure.
Yes they are the best clan in Konoha but that doesn't make then invisible.

Uchiha clan was famous of their Genuis ninja's with or without their Sharingan so basicly no he couldn't unless there was some Hinata type their rrrrrr i meant Neji

Is it possible that he killed his clan because of Orochimaru's influence? Maybe Oro saw some potential in Itachi and he tricked him into killing his clan. It might explain why they were together in Akatsuki.

back to kakashi eyes, in the beginning you hear him saying his best friend died while serving, and if i remember correctly, he touches the sharingan ( the protector ) so i guess that is it for the eye ( and it could have something to do with itachi, just a hunch though )

and yes, kakashi was powerfull without the sharingan ( he became the elite ninja after the sharingan though ) he was a chuunin at the age of nine i think, and i dont know who you are, but you gotta be strong to do that at that age

kakashi can kill of sasuke in a instant, he HAS killed before, sasuke hasnt, and it IS a important factor when you guys are comparing chars

And he left during the 3rd's second reign. The 4th died 13 years before the present time, when Sasuke wasn't even born yet.

Um, not true. Sasuke is OLDER than Naruto, therefore he was like only a few months old when Naruto got the Kyuubi put in him. Naruto was a baby when the 3rd died, hence, Sasuke must have been born!

Anyway, here's a few theories, and what I think.

Okay, this isn't actually a spoiler but I think people fail to mention that when Orochimaru was 'experimenting' with shinobi, trying to find his immortality jutsu, or whatever, there's a theory Orochimaru somehow implanted it into Kakashi. And I don't know whether this has been disproven at all, but I heard this theory once, but not at all lately.

I think personally that Kakashi got it from a member of the Uchiha Clan. As for him KILLING the entire clan, I think that would be impossible. If I'm correct, the Uchiha Clan was the most powerful until 'someone' came along and wiped them out. I'm 99.9999% sure it was Itachi. He says he used them as a measuring stick to test his powers.

And I certainly think there's no way Kakashi could take out the entire clan on his own, especially since he didn't have the Sharingan if he did wipe out the clan. Of course, I think there's a 0% percent chance he did.

Then there's the theory the Akatsuki may have something to do with the whole killing of the clan or whatnot. Or the other theory that has prior been discussed that has certainly no real basis that Itachi may have killed the clan for an actuall reason, persay that he's on some very, very long mission from the 3rd or whatnot. This is from a theory by someone on fanfiction.net, so ya'll can look it up if you're that interested.

Some people like to say that Itachi also /wants/ Sasuke to grow stronger and come kill him. Of course, he says something to the affect of grow stronger and hate me, but I personally /don't/ think he means come after me, making it your life goal to become obsessed with revenge, hence turning to you-know-who for power, etc. If you recall what Itachi does to Sasuke in the scene at the hotel, I think that makes it clear he doesn't care about him at all. I think Itachi is after power, that's all.

Okay, that's it. If you're afraid to read it, just let me say I've been so broad, though I did talk about the manga, I'm so broad there's actually next to nothing revealed. If however, someone wants me to edit it, please say so. I've referred to the future manga, but I'm pretty sure no one will actually be spoiled or offended, since I'm so broad.

after all the post i've read by every1 seems to think that kakashin doesnt even hav the slightest chance of being a bad guy.. you are all so sure he is good.. isnt there a slight chance (no matter how small) thats he's evil?

Huh? Sasuke is 13-14, that's something we do know, we also know that Kakashi is a lot older and that Sasuke has not been fully developed. Sasuke has got a large potential and he's a true Uchiha. Kakashi admits early in the series (during the tree-climbing-lesson) that Sasuke will become a lot stronger than himself and that Naruto will maybe become even stronger than Sasuke again. Besides Naruto, I think I'm right when I say Sasuke is a close second to being the main character, if he's not stronger than previous generations, why not write the story about them instead?
