Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru (Grandpa and Grandma Turn Young Again) manga gets anime adaptation

Synopsis

Quote:

Shouzou and Ine Saitou have been happily married for as long as they can remember. Even in their old age with wrinkles and cracking limbs, the strength of this love is evident by their precious bond. And then, randomly one day, they wake up to find they are young again!

Despite their newfound youthful and attractive bodies, Shouzou and Ine remain the same as ever. Jiisan Baasan Wakagaeru follows the young old couple as they go about their daily lives, spend time with family, and defy the expectations of the youngsters.

. It’s less absurd than when he gets asked to voice a teenager these days.

I mean… Takeshi Kusao, Tohru Furuya and Ryo Horikawa still play teenagers occasionally. If they can do it, Miki is also a fair game

Cute show. Everyone seems to be taking this awfully well, you'd think they'd be more freaking out or them getting snatched up by the government or something for studies lol

The show kind of jumps all over the place. Can kind of tell the type of manga this is being adapted from. Just random skits one after the next.

Plus my head immediately went all over just thinking on the concept. Are they immortal? Were they aged back permanently? Will they age again or possibly just instantly revert back? Is the granddaughter really going to make a move on her grandfather (mostly kidding)? Plus it opens up some crazy stuff like them realistically outliving their own children (all the more likely with how stressed out their son appears to be). Geeze, now that I think about it most of their friends will be passing away pretty soon too...

Ok, that's pretty dark for an obvious comedy! Full respect for Grandpa immediately thinking "let's go for that honeymoon" right after turning young. Not like he's got reasons to hesitate considering they've already been married for 60 years and have kids. Get right to giving your son one of the biggest gaps between siblings in human history!

Honestly there's points in this episode where I wonder if the writer can control their obvious Incest and NTR fetish! Now I really feel for their son. His daughter and wife totally want to hook up with his dad. What is even this show!?

Thank goodness they tried to avoid trouble by introducing a love interest for the granddaughter. Though I mean...didn't do much good for the daughter-in-law

the only part I don't get if they got younger why their hair is not the same color as their younger selves we saw them in flashbacks they have dark hair

Because hair are already dead. If rejuvenation were possible in RL it would have same result.

Frontier Senior Member Join Date: Aug 2013	Spoiler: Look at these two adorable grandparents living out in the farm! And Shinichiro Miki and Mamiko Noto doing old people voices! And somehow they still feel old even when they transform into younger bodies thanks to an inexplicable gold apple, though at least now they can finally go on their honeymoon (and maybe more the way they were framing that bed scene ) . The OP really fits this cute and quirky show about grandparents turned young . When your granddaughter and daughter-in-law start crushing on grandpa, poor Ine . I feel for Yoshiaki (Kazuyuki Okitsu!) that he has to deal with his parents being young again...but he's still susceptible to headpats from mom . Seeing Shouzo and Ine still participating in typical old people recreation with their younger bodies and gaining a lot of admirers on both genders is pretty funny. It also helps win in competitions, because not only do they have younger bodies they also have all the teamwork built up from so many years of being married . Love drama! The Igarashi grandpa was in love with Ine and confessed to her, but she only had heart set on Shouzo and even confessed to him, but Shouzo had to fight his own father in a brawl to get out of an arranged marriage while Ine put the fear of herself in his at-the-time fiance to snag her man (said fiance also being in love with somebody else). That's a lot of romantic drama backstory for a comedy show. It's like it's own Shojo soap opera . Looks like the Igarashi's liking the Saitou's is the same for the current generation as well since Shota has a massive crush on Mino...and she actually returns it! Mom and grandma are all in on this ship, when only grandpa knows it's mutual ! Look at all the dancing in the ED ! __________________
