The term comes from the "Rebuilt Profiles" of the StrikerS cast that Kha made for his intended magnum opus Rebuilt of StrikerS, and the name has pretty much been adopted to referr to taking an OC profile and fixing it. For a less cracky example, compare Franz Jaerger's original profile and the rebuilt profile for MSLN Alpha.

One of the oldest Aces to work with the TSAB, and the most respected linguist to date, the self-styled Sword that Smites Evil (Aku wo Tatsu Tsurugi 悪を断つ剣 Sword that Cleaves Evil in Japanese) Jackson Armstrong is a very honourable individual who fights for his own beliefs. Hardened by a long career as a soldier, Armstrong has an amazing amount of wisdom on the battlefield and can sense the potential in allies and enemies alike.

Armstrong’s demeanour and manners of speech are similar to a samurai, and as such he and his Devices are always depicted with a sword – in the case of the latter, the Forneus is modelled to resemble a samurai katana, in which he dubs the Zankantou or Colossal Blade, allegedly resemble one of the Belkan Empire’s legendary weapons. He also has a tendency to speak with yojijukugo – four-kanji idioms: examples of such phrases are Ichiisenshin (一意専心, with all my heart and soul), Ittou Ryoudan (一刀両断, One blade that cuts in half) and Jinba Ittai (刃馬一体, the rider and his horse are one).

Armstrong frequently phrases “I am Jackson Armstrong, the Sword that Smites Evil!” in which he recites before he attacks with his Colossal Blade, and “there is nothing my Colossal Blade cannot cut!” after each attack. At any time, any of his powerful attacks using the Colossal Blade will most likely be accompanied by a loud “CHESTO!!!” yell.

Even after retirement, Armstrong remains a popular figure among apprentices who are very keen to learn the ancient samurai swordsmanship from him. Admiral Chrono Haraoun also admits during an interview he learns lots of advices from Armstrong and owes him for his insight.

Armstrong is married to Maria Gato, Spain’s leading linguist and blessed with two children from the marriage. His oldest son, Alexander Gato, unfortunately died when a rockslide in Swiss countryside struck his family-in-law’s mansion; his daughter, Annabelle, was the only survivor in the natural disaster that also destroyed the entire village, and was adopted by Armstrong soon after.

Armstrong has a low tolerance towards alcohol and cannot drink more than one cup of rice wine; in one occasion where he mistook Caro’s health drink for a coffee Armstrong had to be hospitalized for three days.

As a tradition every mage follows, Armstrong keeps a familiar: in his case, it is the spirit of a deceased swordswoman named Kagura who he “adopted” after a fated encounter just outside the Village of Scarlet Autumn, the place where he would claim the ownership of Forneus.

Before joining the Time-Space Administrative Bureau, the 22-year-old Armstrong was formerly a member of the Aggressors, a group of elite mages who included Hiram Maxim and Sanshiro Kitamura, the former made famous for the namesake “Mysterious Gourmet”. The trio was the best of the bests, frequently engaging in missions no other operatives would dare embark as well as training the bureau’s future instructors. Armstrong himself was a revered swordsman and frequently referred to as the Thunder Child for his supreme swordsmanship skill, and the fact that he was among a few non-Japanese to master the strict code of Bushido.

When the Aggressors were disbanded, Armstrong found himself out of job and decided to make his living working at local archaeological society on Mid-Childa where he was later made the vice president of the society. His expertise in language field (it is said that Armstrong is fluent in 80 known Terran languages before moving to Mid-Childa) enabled him to become the Time-Space Administered World’s unofficial interpreter and he is fond of his skill.

Some years later, Armstrong was approached by Maxim who requested him to join him in an expedition to non-administered world Excellia. Sensing a great battle over the horizon, he wielded his sword and embarked on a journey that would put his fame to an entirely new height. It was during the expedition that he gained access to Forneus after his old Device was broken during a fierce battle with the guardian of the Village of Scarlet Autumn. This event not only elevated his swordsmanship to a new height but also he was given the honour of using the title Aku o Tatsu Tsurugi, the Sword that Cleaves Evil.

After the success of the expedition, in which they successfully retrieved a Lost Logia and prevented rebel uprising, Armstrong returned to Mid-Childa and resumed his archaeological fieldwork. Here, his aptitude as a mage was discovered, once again thanks to his old friend Maxim, and he was suggested to join the TSAB as a full-time officer. He agreed to accept the invitation, under a condition that he would be allowed to form his own unit within the bureau. Months later, he established the 271st Auxiliary Unit “Wind Talkers” and recruited linguists from all the administered worlds.

His prowess as a mage swordsman is put to the test only after he took the responsibility of reviewing the Chronograph Case, in which he singlehandedly fended off the Eternal Guardian while at the same time his subordinates, joined together by the former members of the Riot Force 6, took care of the berserk Narulian Lost Logia Halcyon. The duel ended in a stalemate, and they agreed to settle it in future time when.

Currently Armstrong is conducting the Wind Talkers’ recruitment and training Hikki, the Gale Whistler he and his task force rescued during the Chronograph Case, as his apprentice.

Armstrong’s power is focused on harnessing the lightning magic into his melee techniques, much similar as Fate’s, but has refined his techniques to a level higher than any melee fighters in his league. He also introduced the concept of “device-free” ability that frees the user from his or her device’s limitations and enables the user to “freely” cast spells in any and all circumstances.

As a combat-hardened veteran, Armstrong has been known to fight mages and knights with all kinds of magic systems. Even in his golden years, his strength is comparable to that of Nanoha, Fate and Hayate, currently the TSAB’s strongest aces; prior to events in StrikerS he frequently fights them in mock-up battle. Although he is classified as an AA+-rank mage, Armstrong’s actual strength is kept confidential for security reason.

Armstrong’s Device is Forneus. This Intelligent Device takes the form of the Japanese katana to suit his fighting style. Forneus possesses female voice, speaks in English and addresses him as “sir”. He also owns another Device named Grungust, which takes the form of a broadsword (although at first glance one could mistake it for an oversized sushi knife). Unlike other Devices, neither Forneus nor Grungust has known Sealed Mode.

Armstrong refers both Forneus and Grungust as Weapons of War God.

Barrier Jacket
Armstrong’s Jacket is a dark grey/red knight-styled dress, with black armoured gloves and armoured boots. It hasn’t changed much for 30 years.

Thunder Dome
Armstrong’s first spell, and Grungust/Forneus’ auto-guard magic. It can guard in every direction but is easily penetrable.

Round Shield
This is a powerful shield that can take on a prolonged attack. Unlike other barrier-type spells, it can only guard from one direction.

Thunder Feather
This ability grants Armstrong with the ability to fly and it increases his speed. If Thunder Feather is used in conjunction with a melee attack, the resulting explosion is technically called a Thunder Impact.

Reactive Blow
It refers to the ability to nullify an attack by detonating the outer layer of Barrier Jacket.

Lightning Bind
This spell is a strong binding-type magic that prevents target from moving.

Bind Break
This ability, when used, attempts to deactivate a binding spell, and the time required to perform this depends on the complexity of the target magic.

Frequency Discharge
This ability has the properties of jamming a device, therefore preventing opponents from using their abilities. This is one of Armstrong’s abilities that do not require a Device (Sacred Edge is the second ability).

**Plasma Wall
Accessible only through Overdrive From, Armstrong first recycles all residue magic and combines it with any available magic stored inside Grungust. Then he unleashes the compressed energy to form an electrified barrier that can be used to encage a target or protect friendly units.

Crescent Slash
Armstrong’s melee attack, consisting of a lightning crescent blade fired from Forneus. It has the power to neutralize other projectiles, and the blade itself can be thrown.

Crescent Scythe
This ability enhances Crescent Slash to penetrate barrier-type magic.

Stun Edge
Armstrong’s basic ranged attack, fired from a small collection of lightning spheres. It is fast and can turn on command should it miss.

Sacred Edge
A variation of Stun Edge, this spell stockpiles several spheres and unleashes a huge lightning arrow at target. Armstrong can perform this attack without Grungust’s aid, and its short execution time makes it almost impossible to predict.

Voltage Shooter
Armstrong’s siege-type attack, it is analogous to Nanoha’s Divine Buster and Fate’s Thunder Smasher.

Plasma Storm
This is Armstrong’s area-of-affect thunderstorm and has the properties of jamming other Devices.

**Dragon Hammer
Accessible only in Grungust’s Overdrive Form, this ability is designed to destroy force fields, binding magic spells (in case Bind Break fails), illusions and barriers. This is the strongest melee next to Divine Voltage Mjolnir Crush.

**Heavenly Judgment
It is a stronger variation of Plasma Storm where thunderstorms are summoned and commanded to strike at all opponents in target areas. It is accessible only after Grungust’s Overdrive Form is unlocked.

**Ride the Lightning
Armstrong braces himself and charges at opponent in lightning sphere, leaving electrical residue behind in trails. Then he collides with the opponent and stuns him/her with vicious electric orbs before he performs a hard horizontal bisect with Grungust. On some occasions, Ride the Lightning also serves as reactive protection spell.

**Divine Voltage
The most powerful “Breaker”-type ability so far, on par with Nanoha’s Starlight Breaker Exceed, it requires the collection and recycling of residual magical energy left over by previous attacks in combat airspace for a new attack. Divine Voltage is highly unstable and tends to cause Grungust to break down after prolonged use.

There are two attack modes of Divine Voltage:

• Mjolnir Crush: Armstrong strikes the extended “sword of light” onto any target regardless of its distance.
• Thunderbird: Overdrive Grungust shoots overcharged lightning bolt onto target.

It is noted that Divine Voltage is a shared ability, meaning that Armstrong can perform it with either Forneus or Grungust, although the way it is executed varies with the Device.

Spoiler for offensive abilities (Forneus):

Colossal Burst of Heavenly Cloud
Armstrong uses the Forneus in its base form with a swift swipe in the air that creates a strong wind to cut the enemy.

Spinning Blade of Evening Sky
Armstrong uses the plasma generator to enlarge the Forneus into a larger katana-like blade, which is then swung as if it were a boomerang.

Rising Thunder of Destiny
Armstrong enlarges the Forneus into a large broadsword. He, then, uses it to perform a series of slashes before ends it with a clean, vertical cut.

Blade of Shining Heavens
Also known as Colossal Storm, Armstrong enlarges the Forneus to such a point that it’s almost too large for his arms to even handle. He lifts the weapon high overhead and proceeds to take to the sky. Then he drops down with a single bisecting slash as a finishing move.

Tornado Blade of Heaven and Earth
A variation of Divine Voltage Infinite Razor & Ride the Lightning, this attack is available only after Maxim agrees to assist him in battle. Maxim activates Trombe and transforms it into Pferde Mode, allowing Armstrong to ride on it (Maxim himself fuses with the Device during the sequence). Riding towards the enemy as a samurai on horseback, Armstrong then strikes with Forneus in high-speed horizontal slash, dragging it across the battlefield. Then he spins Forneus very rapidly to generate a whirlwind that carries the bisected enemy up into the air before adding a final horizontal slash upon the enemy. This combination attack is very flashy, often borderline-ridiculous but very powerful.

OK, I like base setup work myself.

One year and seven months later, TSAB not only found out that Jail Scaglietti was working for the TSAB High Council who supported them financially…TSAB also discovered that the ones that provided the necessary material for Scagliettie’s inventions was none other than the Aldian Kingdom. The new High Council confronted the Aldian King about the issue and accused him of violating the treaty for not giving them any information in regards of the materials that was shipped secretly. The King defended himself by saying that the even though the rest of the TSAB ranks didn’t know of the business transaction that he had with the former three High Councils, it doesn’t change the fact that Aldia made deals with TSAB officials. In addition, he DID inform the TSAB about the shipment records since the former High Council members knew about it and was not his fault that the three of them kept it as a secret. The High Council stated that they were supposed to send the data to the Interdimensional Trading Agency of Midchilda and not directly to the former High Councils.

The arguments on the issue lasted three months and escalated to the point where the Aldian Kingdom stopped supplying TSAB with the materials they need. TSAB now had no other choice but to rely heavily on smaller kingdoms for supplies.

The setup is questionable. First, no matter what the legal technicalities of the matter, why did the King of Aldia agree to what is quite clearly a rather shady deal at best?

Second, this is a negotiation between a multi-world government and the ruler of a fraction of a planet. Given the power chasm, legalities are just a facemask for "might makes right". Basically, the Aldians will quickly pay heavy reparations and apologies. If they get cheeky, it seems they hold a great share, but not all the resources the TSAB needs, so what will happen is that the TSAB will simply crush the Aldians with sheer numbers to ensure its strategic interests. If they are too tactically incompetent to win a ground war, they'll just bombard them out of existence with space superiority and then land to take over the mines. Especially the TSAB of this OC group, who have invaded a whole planet over much less - search for the Subjugation of Erusia. I suppose your story is supposed to fit somewhere in this OC world, so...

Alternatively, in the extremely unlikely event they have the TSAB on the ropes due to their hold on supplies, the TSAB will just choke down the issue - at least for now, until they stockpile enough that things return to the above scenario.

Due to lack of materials, many research and weapons development programs in the TSAB progressed slowly. A month later, the Aldian Kingdom found out that the Kingdom of Orthia has been hiding some of the rebels that planned to overthrow the Aldian King a year and eleven months ago. The Aldian King demanded for the rebels to be handed over; however, the Orthian Kingdom refused since the Aldians that they hid were just the families of those who planned the rebellion. In addition, those people have become citizens of Orthia itself. However, the Aldian King could careless. Thus he sent 2045 troops, 504 tanks and 30 Aldian Knights in the borders of Orthia. It seems war was inevitable. As they cross the border, they saw 3,025 Orthian Troops approaching…much to their surprise…the TSAB ground forces were there as well. After 6 hours, the battle commenced and lasted for 2 days. The battled ended with the Victory of the Aldians. The presence of the Aldian Knights contributed greatly into their success. The Orthians in the other hand lost 2,733 of its troops and the TSAB ground forces lost many of its tanks and mages.

So, of 2045 troops, at least 1512 of them were tankers (assuming 3 man tank crews) and there's only a battalion of infantry? The combined-arms balance of the unit is ... questionable, not to mention the small size of the unit meant to take over a whole Kingdom...

Also, it is exceedingly idiotic for the Aldian commander to have attacked in the face of TSAB troops. Not that he can't win tactically, if he has those Knights and so many tanks on his side versus TSAB Ground Troops (well, we all saw them). But he's literally begging for his country to be dismembered.

Finally, what did the Aldian commander do after he wins (and reorganizes his forces)? Does he continue to advance as the van of an invasion? Or is this ultimately a punitive border incident to try and convince the Orthians to hand over the Rebels (which is more reasonable considering the use of only 2000 troops)...

Since the Orthia is one of the few kingdoms that supplied the TSAB with the materials they need; they had to protect it. Another thing that bothered the TSAB the most was the reports from its allied kingdoms in Corsel regarding the Aldian Kingdom’s possible involvement in human experiments and researches that was banned by the TSAB.. The TSAB also received reports that the Aldian Army has been increased more than the allowed amount. As a result, TSAB sent their only newly developed ship, Varuna. They then assigned Admiral Chrono Harlaown as its captain and was accompanied by Enforcers Fate T. Harlaown and Teana Lanster to investigate if the reports were true. In addition, in order to strengthen their forces in Orthia, TSAB sent Signum as well as the 97-109th Battalion.

So, they've deployed in Divisional Strength at Orthia, but they aren't thinking about just attacking the clearly rebellious Aldians? And they are sending precisely 2 people into Aldia? Why only one ship? And why take Chrono off Claudia? Is Varuna's combat coefficient that much higher, enough to cover for the loss due to inexperience with the new ship and crew?

Frankly, after what happens above, "possible involvement in human experiments" is nothing. It is no longer a "police matter". It is a national security and territorial integrity matter.

What we should be seeing is a frantic buildup by the TSAB at Orthia, assembling a force that will overmatch any force the Aldians could have expanded to, in preparation of an invasion. As part of the recce effort, Fate and Teana might be two of hundreds of people infiltrating into Aldia.

Alternatively (or in addition), they should be airdropping entire companies and battalions in a surprise attack on the King (to dispose him).

During their investigations, Fate and Teana found out that the Aldian Kingdom’s military force was bigger than the treaty allows.

Oh, they found out something that was known already? What's below is OK, but the base setup needs work. The Aldians pushed way too far up there for your response to be appropriate. For example, if they didn't have that row with the TSAB, and only had the suspicion of possible involvmenet in human experiments, then your scenario is OK.

He also has a tendency to speak with yojijukugo – four-kanji idioms: examples of such phrases are Ichiisenshin (一意専心, with all my heart and soul), Ittou Ryoudan (一刀両断, One blade that cuts in half) and Jinba Ittai (刃馬一体, the rider and his horse are one).

Armstrong frequently phrases “I am Jackson Armstrong, the Sword that Smites Evil!” in which he recites before he attacks with his Colossal Blade, and “there is nothing my Colossal Blade cannot cut!” after each attack. At any time, any of his powerful attacks using the Colossal Blade will most likely be accompanied by a loud “CHESTO!!!” yell.

Even after retirement, Armstrong remains a popular figure among apprentices who are very keen to learn the ancient samurai swordsmanship from him. Admiral Chrono Haraoun also admits during an interview he learns lots of advices from Armstrong and owes him for his insight.

Armstrong is married to Maria Gato, Spain’s leading linguist and blessed with two children from the marriage. His oldest son, Alexander Gato, unfortunately died when a rockslide in Swiss countryside struck his family-in-law’s mansion; his daughter, Annabelle, was the only survivor in the natural disaster that also destroyed the entire village, and was adopted by Armstrong soon after.

Armstrong has a low tolerance towards alcohol and cannot drink more than one cup of rice wine; in one occasion where he mistook Caro’s health drink for a coffee Armstrong had to be hospitalized for three days.

As a tradition every mage follows, Armstrong keeps a familiar: in his case, it is the spirit of a deceased swordswoman named Kagura who he “adopted” after a fated encounter just outside the Village of Scarlet Autumn, the place where he would claim the ownership of Forneus.

Before joining the Time-Space Administrative Bureau, the 22-year-old Armstrong was formerly a member of the Aggressors, a group of elite mages who included Hiram Maxim and Sanshiro Kitamura, the former made famous for the namesake “Mysterious Gourmet”. The trio was the best of the bests, frequently engaging in missions no other operatives would dare embark as well as training the bureau’s future instructors. Armstrong himself was a revered swordsman and frequently referred to as the Thunder Child for his supreme swordsmanship skill, and the fact that he was among a few non-Japanese to master the strict code of Bushido.

When the Aggressors were disbanded, Armstrong found himself out of job and decided to make his living working at local archaeological society on Mid-Childa where he was later made the vice president of the society. His expertise in language field (it is said that Armstrong is fluent in 80 known Terran languages before moving to Mid-Childa) enabled him to become the Time-Space Administered World’s unofficial interpreter and he is fond of his skill.

Some years later, Armstrong was approached by Maxim who requested him to join him in an expedition to non-administered world Excellia. Sensing a great battle over the horizon, he wielded his sword and embarked on a journey that would put his fame to an entirely new height. It was during the expedition that he gained access to Forneus after his old Device was broken during a fierce battle with the guardian of the Village of Scarlet Autumn. This event not only elevated his swordsmanship to a new height but also he was given the honour of using the title Aku o Tatsu Tsurugi, the Sword that Cleaves Evil.

After the success of the expedition, in which they successfully retrieved a Lost Logia and prevented rebel uprising, Armstrong returned to Mid-Childa and resumed his archaeological fieldwork. Here, his aptitude as a mage was discovered, once again thanks to his old friend Maxim, and he was suggested to join the TSAB as a full-time officer. He agreed to accept the invitation, under a condition that he would be allowed to form his own unit within the bureau. Months later, he established the 271st Auxiliary Unit “Wind Talkers” and recruited linguists from all the administered worlds.

His prowess as a mage swordsman is put to the test only after he took the responsibility of reviewing the Chronograph Case, in which he singlehandedly fended off the Eternal Guardian while at the same time his subordinates, joined together by the former members of the Riot Force 6, took care of the berserk Narulian Lost Logia Halcyon. The duel ended in a stalemate, and they agreed to settle it in future time when.

Currently Armstrong is conducting the Wind Talkers’ recruitment and training Hikki, the Gale Whistler he and his task force rescued during the Chronograph Case, as his apprentice.

Armstrong’s power is focused on harnessing the lightning magic into his melee techniques, much similar as Fate’s, but has refined his techniques to a level higher than any melee fighters in his league. He also introduced the concept of “device-free” ability that frees the user from his or her device’s limitations and enables the user to “freely” cast spells in any and all circumstances.

As a combat-hardened veteran, Armstrong has been known to fight mages and knights with all kinds of magic systems. Even in his golden years, his strength is comparable to that of Nanoha, Fate and Hayate, currently the TSAB’s strongest aces; prior to events in StrikerS he frequently fights them in mock-up battle. Although he is classified as an AA+-rank mage, Armstrong’s actual strength is kept confidential for security reason.

Armstrong’s Device is Forneus. This Intelligent Device takes the form of the Japanese katana to suit his fighting style. Forneus possesses female voice, speaks in English and addresses him as “sir”. He also owns another Device named Grungust, which takes the form of a broadsword (although at first glance one could mistake it for an oversized sushi knife). Unlike other Devices, neither Forneus nor Grungust has known Sealed Mode.

Armstrong refers both Forneus and Grungust as Weapons of War God.

Barrier Jacket
Armstrong’s Jacket is a dark grey/red knight-styled dress, with black armoured gloves and armoured boots. It hasn’t changed much for 30 years.

Thunder Dome
Armstrong’s first spell, and Forneus’ auto-guard magic. It can guard in every direction but is easily penetrable.

Round Shield
This is a powerful shield that can take on a prolonged attack. Unlike other barrier-type spells, it can only guard from one direction.

Thunder Feather
This ability grants Armstrong with the ability to fly and it increases his speed. If Thunder Feather is used in conjunction with a melee attack, the resulting explosion is technically called a Thunder Impact.

Reactive Blow
It refers to the ability to nullify an attack by detonating the outer layer of Barrier Jacket.

Lightning Bind
This spell is a strong binding-type magic that prevents target from moving.

Bind Break
This ability, when used, attempts to deactivate a binding spell, and the time required to perform this depends on the complexity of the target magic.

Frequency Discharge
This ability has the properties of jamming a device, therefore preventing opponents from using their abilities. This is one of Armstrong’s abilities that do not require a Device (Sacred Edge is the second ability).

**Plasma Wall
Accessible only through Overdrive From, Armstrong first recycles all residue magic and combines it with any available magic stored inside Grungust. Then he unleashes the compressed energy to form an electrified barrier that can be used to encage a target or protect friendly units.

Crescent Slash
Armstrong’s melee attack, consisting of a lightning crescent blade fired from Forneus. It has the power to neutralize other projectiles, and the blade itself can be thrown.

Crescent Scythe
This ability enhances Crescent Slash to penetrate barrier-type magic.

Stun Edge
Armstrong’s basic ranged attack, fired from a small collection of lightning spheres. It is fast and can turn on command should it miss.

Sacred Edge
A variation of Stun Edge, this spell stockpiles several spheres and unleashes a huge lightning arrow at target. Armstrong can perform this attack without Grungust’s aid, and its short execution time makes it almost impossible to predict.

Voltage Shooter
Armstrong’s siege-type attack, it is analogous to Nanoha’s Divine Buster and Fate’s Thunder Smasher.

Plasma Storm
This is Armstrong’s area-of-affect thunderstorm and has the properties of jamming other Devices.

**Dragon Hammer
Accessible only in Grungust’s Overdrive Form, this ability is designed to destroy force fields, binding magic spells (in case Bind Break fails), illusions and barriers. This is the strongest melee next to Divine Voltage Mjolnir Crush.

**Heavenly Judgment
It is a stronger variation of Plasma Storm where thunderstorms are summoned and commanded to strike at all opponents in target areas. It is accessible only after Grungust’s Overdrive Form is unlocked.

**Ride the Lightning
Armstrong braces himself and charges at opponent in lightning sphere, leaving electrical residue behind in trails. Then he collides with the opponent and stuns him/her with vicious electric orbs before he performs a hard horizontal bisect with Grungust. On some occasions, Ride the Lightning also serves as reactive protection spell.

**Divine Voltage
The most powerful “Breaker”-type ability so far, on par with Nanoha’s Starlight Breaker Exceed, it requires the collection and recycling of residual magical energy left over by previous attacks in combat airspace for a new attack. Divine Voltage is highly unstable and tends to cause Grungust to break down after prolonged use.

There are two attack modes of Divine Voltage:

• Mjolnir Crush: Armstrong strikes the extended “sword of light” onto any target regardless of its distance.
• Thunderbird: Overdrive Grungust shoots overcharged lightning bolt onto target.

It is noted that Divine Voltage is a shared ability, meaning that Armstrong can perform it with either Forneus or Grungust, although the way it is executed varies with the Device.

Colossal Burst of Heavenly Cloud
Armstrong uses the Forneus in its base form with a swift swipe in the air that creates a strong wind to cut the enemy.

Spinning Blade of Evening Sky
Armstrong uses the plasma generator to enlarge the Forneus into a larger katana-like blade, which is then swung as if it were a boomerang.

Rising Thunder of Destiny
Armstrong enlarges the Forneus into a large broadsword. He, then, uses it to perform a series of slashes before ends it with a clean, vertical cut.

Blade of Shining Heavens
Also known as Colossal Storm, Armstrong enlarges the Forneus to such a point that it’s almost too large for his arms to even handle. He lifts the weapon high overhead and proceeds to take to the sky. Then he drops down with a single bisecting slash as a finishing move.

Tornado Blade of Heaven and Earth
A variation of Divine Voltage Infinite Razor & Ride the Lightning, this attack is available only after Maxim agrees to assist him in battle. Maxim activates Trombe and transforms it into Pferde Mode, allowing Armstrong to ride on it (Maxim himself fuses with the Device during the sequence). Riding towards the enemy as a samurai on horseback, Armstrong then strikes with Forneus in high-speed horizontal slash, dragging it across the battlefield. Then he spins Forneus very rapidly to generate a whirlwind that carries the bisected enemy up into the air before adding a final horizontal slash upon the enemy. This combination attack is very flashy, often borderline-ridiculous but very powerful.

Born on Administered World 213 Latned, Chikane was born as the planet’s Lunar Child of the deity Ame no Murakumo. Born, on October 1 MC0063 Mid-Childa time, she was logged to have been born at the same time as Kurusugawa Himeko.

From the moment of her birth, she had been raised as the daughter of a goddess. Born into a royal family, she was not only raised to be a powerful warrior, she was also raised to be a princess,, one of regal status, with enough power to have enough political influence to take over the planet, if she so choose. Majority of her childhood had been a sheltered life, spending her days learning the ways of a princess, and as the daughter of a goddess. It wasn’t until her 10th birthday, 2 years before her application to the TSAB Latned Academy that her life had changed.

During her 10th birthday, she had managed to sneak out of the castle she resided in, and had a chance to explore the town, unhindered, especially since her face had never been broadcasted to the planet, and she had dressed herself as a middle-class to blend in with her surroundings. It was around that time she met the Sun Child, Himeko. (For a detailed explanation of Himeko’s past to this point, refer to the profile of Kurusugawa Himeko.)

They had met when Chikane ran into Himeko, having just been thrown out the door from a fight between her and her adoptive mother. The woman had attempted to drag her in, when Chikane had stepped in, swiftly dealing with the woman before taking Himeko away from her. That meeting ended up sparked a strong friendship towards one another, that Chikane had brought Himeko to her home, where she had declared that Himeko would be her personal maid, as a means of protecting, and giving Himeko a means to have a home.

Their lives at that point were not of a relationship between master and servant, but that of two dedicated and loyal friends. Although Himeko had continued her duties, Chikane treated above such status. Chikane treasured Himeko like no other, always protecting her from the dangers of dealing with her family, and also from students from her school that often teased her for a number of things.

Two years later, MC0065, Chikane and Himeko enrolled into the Latned-based Academy. There, she studied heavily in battle tactics, and relied more on the offensive nature of the Alocnos magic system of her home world. She graduated at the top of her grade two years later with full honours, received a magical grade of B-Rank, and was accelerated to Private First Class, although it is strongly believed that due to political pull from her family, she was accelerated in rank. However, it was never proven, not that it had truly mattered due to her performance after her graduation.

Her performance continued to outshine those of her class as she completed mission after mission, assignment after assignment. Among all those in her graduation class, she excelled among all of them, quickly ranking up to Sergeant Major, before she applied for Officer training in MC0078, two years after the cradle incident and obtained her commission as 2nd Lieutenant in MC0079. From there, she continued to storm through assignment after assignment before reaching her present rank of Lieutenant, on January 08 MC0082.

When deployed, Ame no Murakumo takes on the form of two separate katana, wielded by its designated users. In terms of operation, it augments and amplifies the special powers the users possess. Also due to the specific nature of Ame no Murakumo, in which it is designed specifically for Himemiya Chikane and Kurusugawa Himeko, it amplifies the White Magic within them.

By definition of the people of Latned, Ame no Murakumo is the weapon of the gods, forged for the soul purpose of the two whom have been marked by the symbols of the Sun and the Moon. There is some religious background to the naming and design purpose of the weapon. According to such background, and folklore, the belief is that every 1000 years, born on the month of the Godless Month, the gods above shall bequeath the world two of their great warriors, whom shall be lovers, whom shall be marked with the symbols of the Sun and the Moon. And with their birth, would be the knowledge to construct Ame no Murakumo.

A more detailed explanation of the device’s purpose is to give the two ‘Chosen One’s’ the power akin to gods. Its power can be said to match the power of a Lost Logia, although it is most likely best to say that the powers of Ame no Murakumo is akin to the powers of Takamachi Vivio’s genetic trait, Rüstung Heiligen (Saint’s Armour).

Spells

Spring Wind: A healing spell. The general purpose of this spell is to heal wounds, such as bruises, deep cuts, first degree burns, or other such minor injuries caused from battle. Due to the nature of the spell, internal injuries cannot be dealt with using this particular spell. Such injuries that require an operation must be performed with a more powerful spell.

Soul Force: One of the Lunar Child’s most offensive spells. Calling upon a special Magical Energy pool sealed within the Lunar Birth Mark on the back of her neck, Chikane forms the armour of Ame no Murakumo, drastically enhancing her combat strength and speed for a short period of time. The length of time is based on the amount of Energy stored prior to activation. However, the length of time can be reduced if additional energy is used up to perform any additional spells that take up a large amount of Energy.

Note:
- Due to the drastic nature of the spell, it is rarely used because it often leaves Chikane physically, spiritually, and magically exhausted for a number of days to a few weeks, depending on the length of time the spell’s been active.

Heaven’s Hand: A spell native to users of the Alocnos System. The spell is a powerful healing spell, with a wide variety of applications, such as setting bones and healing mortal injuries such as internal bleeding, among other things. However, due to the massive power requirements, it is a non-battlefield spell. The time required charging the spell, level of concentration, and power needed to use the spell limits its usage to post-battle operations, and operation room based occasions.

Sacred Ward: A field spell. A type of spell native to Alocnos users, the spell permits the user to cast multiple field spells and place them upon others, providing them a means of protecting should their own defence prove to be insufficient.

Augment Spells: As the spell-type suggests, the user is endowed with a number of support and enhancement spells, to support and augment their team-mates as necessary.

• Hasten: Speed enhancement
• Might: Strength enhancement
• Endurance: Stamina enhancement

Shadow Chain: A restrict spell. As the name of the spell implies, this spell works best in the shadows, or at the very least, the shadow of the target. However, the more shadows, the more effective the spell is, as the user is able to cast more chains, furthering the restriction placed upon a target.

Born on Administered World 213 Latned, Himeko was born as the planet’s Solar Child of the deity Ame no Murakumo. Born, on October 1 MC0063 Mid-Childa time, she was logged to have been born at the same time as Himemiya Chikane.

Born into a poor family, Himeko lived mostly in a life of poverty and loneliness. Despite the fact she had been born with the Sun Star on her chest, her family had hidden that knowledge from everyone, teaching her that it had to be hidden until she could find the Lunar Child. She never found out why, for at the age of 6, her parents had passed away, leaving her with a family that had begrudgingly adopted her.

However, for 4 years, she lived in a depressive household. From a colloquial point of view, her life was synonymous to Non-administered Planet 97’s fairy tale character Cinderella. Due to the fact she had hidden her lineage, her family had ended up treating her as a low class servant. Her sub par standards of her life ranged from ragged clothing, damaged bedding, and even stagnant bath water, among other things. Her family had treated her below Servant, but just above animal to avoid trouble with the local law.

For four years, she lived in poverty. Her family continued to abuse her and mistreat her, until her 10th birthday where she had eventually lost her temper, and had wilfully attacked her adoptive mother, while the father was out of the house. The end result was her being thrown out the door due to the fight, which had drawn the attention of Princess Himemiya Chikane, who had been passing by when it happened. The end result was that the princess defended her, to the point she revealed herself through the Lunar Star on her back.

The end result was an immediate friendship that formed between the two, and Chikane used her power and influence and had landed her the ultimate job that would let her stay close to her saviour: the personal servant of Himemiya Chikane. Not only that, the job had also given her something she had longed for since she was six; a place to call home.

In MC0065, she and Chikane enrolled on the Latned-based Academy, where she trained heavily on the offensive nature of the Alocnos Magic, along with Chikane. With Chikane’s help, Himeko graduated in the top 10 of her classes, and left with a ranking of C-Rank. Normally she would’ve entered the service as Private Third Class. However, due to her outstanding performances on her first mission, she was promptly accelerated to the rank of Private Second class. From there, her career began to take flight.

Her performance continued to match that of Chikane as she completed mission after mission, assignment after assignment. Among all those in her graduation class, she was one of the more prominent enlisted that stood out more than others, quickly ranking up to Sergeant Major, before she applied for Officer training in MC0078 with Chikane, two years after the cradle incident and obtained her commission as 2nd Lieutenant in MC0079. Soul’s Embrace: A technique used strictly by only the Solar Child, Himeko can use this technique to act as a life support system for those whom their bodies have been injured that their bodies would not be able to support themselves. The technique itself allows Himeko to loan her life time to a person whom she’s attempting to save. Although this technique may momentarily extend the life of the person she’s using the ability on, even she has her limits before she must break the spell. On that note, if it is used on a person who’s too far gone to heal, all the technique can do is prolong a person’s life, until Himeko disconnects the spell.

Note:
- Due to the fact that the spell operates by linking Himeko’s life force with the patients diminishing life, it is only used if a patient’s operation is guaranteed to succeed. Otherwise, it is rarely used, unless it is at the wish that a patient may life long enough to say goodbye to their loved ones. However, it is often not practiced due to the excessive time that may require fulfilling such a wish.

Shadow Chain: A restrict spell. As the name of the spell implies, this spell works best in the shadows, or at the very least, the shadow of the target. However, the more shadows, the more effective the spell is, as the user is able to cast more chains, furthering the restriction placed upon a target.

When inactive, the Device is worn on a simple silver chain around her neck. Unlike other Devices, however, SaSword has a intermediate form it can assume. In this form, it assumes the appearance of a mechanical scorpion with a body length of about 7 inches. Because it is able to move on its own, many have confused the it with a Unison Device. Sasword has a habit of resting on her shoulder most of the time and will act defensive towards strangers. There have been reports of mild lacerations from its claws and puncture wounds from its tail, but nothing serious or life threatening.

To activate the Barrier Jacket, the sword is summoned with a command of STAND BY from SaSword followed by attaching it to the hilt with the command of HENSHIN.

Serious. That is what many people who have met her would describe her as. Around base and when on duty, she maintains a calm and cool complexion with a 'take no crap' attitude. On missions she focus on the objectives as well as looking after her teammates. She has been known to be relentless against criminals, especially those involved in dealing with Lost Logia.

To those who know her, however, would describe her as reserved and a bit shy. When off duty she laxes her serious attitude, but not completely. Those who have known her since she started on the Program say that she has come a long way in finding herself. Her trust is difficult, but not impossible to earn. Those who have seen her with her close friends back on her home world sometimes have to do a double-take, not believing it's her at first.

Evangeline stands a little above average height for for world with a slight tan. She keeps her hair cut short as she says long hair is too troublesome to keep care of. Everyday she tries to maintain an exercise routine to keep her in shape, which also helps to give her a toned body. When not on base, she likes to dress comfortably in sun dresses or a skirt and shirt should the weather prove to be appropriate. Otherwise she'll dress in jeans and shirts. She does try to keep up with the latest fashion somewhat, but refuses to buy anything that would show off more than she wants.

Barrier Jacket

The Barrier Jacket has two different 'forms' depending on the situation.

Masked Form

A heavily armored Barrier Jacket. The armor allows for the wearer to withstand direct low-power magical attacks and some medium-power magical attacks. Additional armor on the gauntlets allows for the blocking of melee weapons, although weapons infused with barrier-piercing magic have been known to penetrate the armor. Although slower than Rider Form, the user still has a wide-range of movement despite its bulky appearance. Due to the drain of the user to maintain the armor, spell usage is limited in this form. In addition, the tubes on the armor can be used to physically restrain targets within range, but prevents the user from casting any other spells. Bind removal spells rarely work on the tubes as it is not a Binding Spell, but a part of the Barrier Jacket.

Rider Form

By activating CAST OFF, the external armor is expelled (and can be used to inflict damage on nearby targets) to reveal Rider Form. This is followed by the announcement CHANGE SCORPION. While not as armored as Masked Form, the user gains a large speed increase as well as full range of movement. Also, with the external armor discarded, the user can use their full range of spells. An additional feature of this form is access to the CLOCK UP feature.

Administered World 58 was a bustling planet with a fairly advanced society. Skyscrapers dotted the major cities for as far as the eye could see. Conversion from the use of fossil fuels to renewable, non polluting energy sources several decades ago provided a cleaner, healthier environment. But like many advance worlds, no everyone was able to take advantage of such luxuries. Those who could not afford to live in the metropolises lived in smaller towns or villages at a simpler level. Many of these people were jealous of those who enjoyed the easy life while they lived in their simple houses and provided for them by tending the land. Crime rates were high in numerous villages, making them the prime spot for criminals of all walks to gather.

Evangeline was an only child, as having more than one was difficult. The village she lived in was a fair distance from the nearest city, but you could still see the lights in the distance on a good night. Like many children, she dreamed of being able to venture out to the city and indulge in the luxuries it had to offer. At the age of 8, she would have her opportunity to venture to the city, but not in the way she would have imagined. Unknown to the villagers, smugglers had created a secret storage chamber underground to hide their goods before they would move it off world. One of the recent drops had included several Lost Logia. Unstable Lost Logia. It was never determined what happened, but something set off the Lost Logia and they detonated, eradicating the entire village. The TSAB was quick to respond and found a massive, charred crater where the village once once. Very few were found, mostly those who were on the outskirts during the incident. Even fewer were alive. Evangeline was one of the survivors, though at the time wished she had died with her parents.

She would eventually be put into foster care within the city after the investigation concluded she had no involvement. It was from that moment that her hate of magic began. Sometimes she would get into fights with other children who had expressed their interest in or able to use magic. The caretakers tried what they could to stem her anger, but they were of no use. Around the age of 10, she ran away and disappeared into the cast city. Alone and frustrated, she did what she had to do to survive on the streets. Her life would take another turn shortly after she stole from the wrong teen.

Like many cities around the planet, gangs ran rampant in the less maintained areas. Each had their own 'turf' and looked out for one another. One of the teens she decided to steal from was from a local gang. true to their word, they gathered and cornered her to get revenge. At least, that was the initial plan. Whether by pure luck or skill, she managed to take out four of their members during the brawl and was still standing even with her injuries. That was when the leader stepped in. He saw her potential and the fire in her eyes. He knew it would be a mistake to try and take her out. Rather, he offered her a spot in their gang. She was reluctant at first, but the offer of food, clothes, and a roof over her head was too tempting to pass up and thus she became a member of the Discabil gang.

As time went by, she became integrated into the group. The treated her like one of them, not excluding her from their raids or turf brawls. In fact, she gained a fearsome reputation due to her preference for fighting with whatever blunt object she could find. Eventually she would procure a boken during one of their raids and it would be her partner in every fight from then on. From that she gained the nickname "Tsurugi." Battles were won and lost and the raids continued. It wouldn't be until MC 068 when her life would take yet another turn.

A raid on a TSAB storage facility had gone horribly wrong. It was every member for their self as they scrambled to get out and away from the rapidly growing guards. Some had not been so lucky and were caught, Evangeline included. Not being one to give up so easily, she struggled against the guards, but was subdued and locked in a cell. The next day she was approached by a man in a suit, offering her the chance to get out of her upcoming prison sentence. He claimed to have seen the footage of her during the raid and was impressed by her determination and crude combat skills. The project he was working on was in need of such a person and he offered her the job. She was reluctant to accept such a convenient way out, but she really didn't have many options left, and jail was not one of them.

The next day she was released under guarded escort and taken to the TSAB research facility in the city. There she found she was to be the user of a new Device they were developing in Project ZECT. To say she was furious would be an understatement. She was confined to her quarters until she decided to cooperate or, if she refused, released back to the authorities for her jail sentence. A day later she found one of the researcher assistance at her door. The brunette girl around her age introduced herself as Melissa and wanted to talk. She wasn't in the mood and nearly punched the girl as she insisted on talking. The terrified look in those eyes that stared at her from her crumpled position on the floor made her remember of a time she wanted to forget. It was the same look she had after the incident, that same terrified look. From that moment they talked, bit by bit. This was probably the first time she had been able to really talk to someone without having to keep a tough attitude or fear for her life. It was also through these talks that she re-evaluated the viewpoint she had since that day. Magic was not at fault for what had happened to her village that day, but rather the smugglers and criminals who stored them and those who wished to use the items for their own benefit. She now had a new drive; to prevent another incident from happening again and punishing those who would use magic and Lost Logia for their own selfish purposes. And Project ZECT would be the means by wish to help her accomplish her new purpose.

Time went by as she worked with the research team on the Zector, as they called it. The simulations and testing were hard, but she pushed forward. On her off time, she would chat with Melissa, the two becoming close friends. It also also through Melissa's persistence that she had 'rediscovered' some of her femininity. While she still maintained her serious attitude, she found herself enjoying shopping and gossiping although not many saw this side of her.

The battle ended with neither side losing. After seeing Fate’s Sonic Form and the Zanber form’s capabilities, the Aldian Knights decided to pull out. After, the King found out that the TSAB has taken a hold of one of the researchers and some of the research documents; he ordered Asclei and Lanos to retrieve it by all means. As Asclei and Lanos approached TSAB’s newly developed ship Varuna, Fate and Teana faced them while Chrono prepared Varuna for escape. The battle lasted 5 minutes and ended with Asclei and Lanos being captured.

One of the oldest Aces to work with the TSAB, and the most respected linguist to date, the self-styled Sword that Smites Evil (Aku wo Tatsu Tsurugi 悪を断つ剣 Sword that Cleaves Evil in Japanese) Jackson Armstrong is a very honourable individual who fights for his own beliefs. Hardened by a long career as a soldier, Armstrong has an amazing amount of wisdom on the battlefield and can sense the potential in allies and enemies alike.

Armstrong’s demeanour and manners of speech are similar to a samurai, and as such he and his Devices are always depicted with a sword – in the case of the latter, the Forneus is modelled to resemble a samurai katana, in which he dubs the Zankantou or Colossal Blade, allegedly resemble one of the Belkan Empire’s legendary weapons. He also has a tendency to speak with yojijukugo – four-kanji idioms: examples of such phrases are Ichiisenshin (一意専心, with all my heart and soul), Ittou Ryoudan (一刀両断, One blade that cuts in half) and Jinba Ittai (刃馬一体, the rider and his horse are one).

Armstrong frequently phrases “I am Jackson Armstrong, the Sword that Smites Evil!” in which he recites before he attacks with his Colossal Blade, and “there is nothing my Colossal Blade cannot cut!” after each attack. At any time, any of his powerful attacks using the Colossal Blade will most likely be accompanied by a loud “CHESTO!!!” yell.

Even after retirement, Armstrong remains a popular figure among apprentices who are very keen to learn the ancient samurai swordsmanship from him. Admiral Chrono Haraoun also admits during an interview he learns lots of advices from Armstrong and owes him for his insight.

Armstrong is married to Maria Gato, Spain’s leading linguist and blessed with two children from the marriage. His oldest son, Alexander Gato, unfortunately died when a rockslide in Swiss countryside struck his family-in-law’s mansion; his daughter, Annabelle, was the only survivor in the natural disaster that also destroyed the entire village, and was adopted by Armstrong soon after.

Armstrong has a low tolerance towards alcohol and cannot drink more than one cup of rice wine; in one occasion where he mistook Caro’s health drink for a coffee Armstrong had to be hospitalized for three days.

As a tradition every mage follows, Armstrong keeps a familiar: in his case, it is the spirit of a deceased swordswoman named Kagura who he “adopted” after a fated encounter just outside the Village of Scarlet Autumn, the place where he would claim the ownership of Forneus.

Before joining the Time-Space Administrative Bureau, the 22-year-old Armstrong was formerly a member of the Aggressors, a group of elite mages who included Hiram Maxim and Sanshiro Kitamura, the former made famous for the namesake “Mysterious Gourmet”. The trio was the best of the bests, frequently engaging in missions no other operatives would dare embark as well as training the bureau’s future instructors. Armstrong himself was a revered swordsman and frequently referred to as the Thunder Child for his supreme swordsmanship skill, and the fact that he was among a few non-Japanese to master the strict code of Bushido.

When the Aggressors were disbanded, Armstrong found himself out of job and decided to make his living working at local archaeological society on Mid-Childa where he was later made the vice president of the society. His expertise in language field (it is said that Armstrong is fluent in 80 known Terran languages before moving to Mid-Childa) enabled him to become the Time-Space Administered World’s unofficial interpreter and he is fond of his skill.

Some years later, Armstrong was approached by Maxim who requested him to join him in an expedition to non-administered world Excellia. Sensing a great battle over the horizon, he wielded his sword and embarked on a journey that would put his fame to an entirely new height. It was during the expedition that he gained access to Forneus after his old Device was broken during a fierce battle with the guardian of the Village of Scarlet Autumn. This event not only elevated his swordsmanship to a new height but also he was given the honour of using the title Aku o Tatsu Tsurugi, the Sword that Cleaves Evil.

After the success of the expedition, in which they successfully retrieved a Lost Logia and prevented rebel uprising, Armstrong returned to Mid-Childa and resumed his archaeological fieldwork. Here, his aptitude as a mage was discovered, once again thanks to his old friend Maxim, and he was suggested to join the TSAB as a full-time officer. He agreed to accept the invitation, under a condition that he would be allowed to form his own unit within the bureau. Months later, he established the 271st Auxiliary Unit “Wind Talkers” and recruited linguists from all the administered worlds.

His prowess as a mage swordsman is put to the test only after he took the responsibility of reviewing the Chronograph Case, in which he singlehandedly fended off the Eternal Guardian while at the same time his subordinates, joined together by the former members of the Riot Force 6, took care of the berserk Narulian Lost Logia Halcyon. The duel ended in a stalemate, and they agreed to settle it in future time when.

Currently Armstrong is conducting the Wind Talkers’ recruitment and training Hikki, the Gale Whistler he and his task force rescued during the Chronograph Case, as his apprentice.

Armstrong’s power is focused on harnessing the lightning magic into his melee techniques, much similar as Fate’s, but has refined his techniques to a level higher than any melee fighters in his league. He also introduced the concept of “device-free” ability that frees the user from his or her device’s limitations and enables the user to “freely” cast spells in any and all circumstances.

As a combat-hardened veteran, Armstrong has been known to fight mages and knights with all kinds of magic systems. Even in his golden years, his strength is comparable to that of Nanoha, Fate and Hayate, currently the TSAB’s strongest aces; prior to events in StrikerS he frequently fights them in mock-up battle. Although he is classified as an AA+-rank mage, Armstrong’s actual strength is kept confidential for security reason.

Armstrong’s Device is Forneus. This Intelligent Device takes the form of the Japanese katana to suit his fighting style. Forneus possesses female voice, speaks in English and addresses him as “sir”. He also owns another Device named Grungust, which takes the form of a broadsword (although at first glance one could mistake it for an oversized sushi knife). Unlike other Devices, neither Forneus nor Grungust has known Sealed Mode.

Armstrong refers both Forneus and Grungust as Weapons of War God.

Barrier Jacket
Armstrong’s Jacket is a dark grey/red knight-styled dress, with black armoured gloves and armoured boots. It hasn’t changed much for 30 years.

Thunder Dome
Armstrong’s first spell, and Grungust/Forneus’ auto-guard magic. It can guard in every direction but is easily penetrable.

Round Shield
This is a powerful shield that can take on a prolonged attack. Unlike other barrier-type spells, it can only guard from one direction.

Thunder Feather
This ability grants Armstrong with the ability to fly and it increases his speed. If Thunder Feather is used in conjunction with a melee attack, the resulting explosion is technically called a Thunder Impact.

Reactive Blow
It refers to the ability to nullify an attack by detonating the outer layer of Barrier Jacket.

Lightning Bind
This spell is a strong binding-type magic that prevents target from moving.

Bind Break
This ability, when used, attempts to deactivate a binding spell, and the time required to perform this depends on the complexity of the target magic.

Frequency Discharge
This ability has the properties of jamming a device, therefore preventing opponents from using their abilities. This is one of Armstrong’s abilities that do not require a Device (Sacred Edge is the second ability).

**Plasma Wall
Accessible only through Overdrive From, Armstrong first recycles all residue magic and combines it with any available magic stored inside Grungust. Then he unleashes the compressed energy to form an electrified barrier that can be used to encage a target or protect friendly units.

Crescent Slash
Armstrong’s melee attack, consisting of a lightning crescent blade fired from Forneus. It has the power to neutralize other projectiles, and the blade itself can be thrown.

Crescent Scythe
This ability enhances Crescent Slash to penetrate barrier-type magic.

Stun Edge
Armstrong’s basic ranged attack, fired from a small collection of lightning spheres. It is fast and can turn on command should it miss.

Sacred Edge
A variation of Stun Edge, this spell stockpiles several spheres and unleashes a huge lightning arrow at target. Armstrong can perform this attack without Grungust’s aid, and its short execution time makes it almost impossible to predict.

Voltage Shooter
Armstrong’s siege-type attack, it is analogous to Nanoha’s Divine Buster and Fate’s Thunder Smasher.

Plasma Storm
This is Armstrong’s area-of-affect thunderstorm and has the properties of jamming other Devices.

**Dragon Hammer
Accessible only in Grungust’s Overdrive Form, this ability is designed to destroy force fields, binding magic spells (in case Bind Break fails), illusions and barriers. This is the strongest melee next to Divine Voltage Mjolnir Crush.

**Heavenly Judgment
It is a stronger variation of Plasma Storm where thunderstorms are summoned and commanded to strike at all opponents in target areas. It is accessible only after Grungust’s Overdrive Form is unlocked.

**Ride the Lightning
Armstrong braces himself and charges at opponent in lightning sphere, leaving electrical residue behind in trails. Then he collides with the opponent and stuns him/her with vicious electric orbs before he performs a hard horizontal bisect with Grungust. On some occasions, Ride the Lightning also serves as reactive protection spell.

**Divine Voltage
The most powerful “Breaker”-type ability so far, on par with Nanoha’s Starlight Breaker Exceed, it requires the collection and recycling of residual magical energy left over by previous attacks in combat airspace for a new attack. Divine Voltage is highly unstable and tends to cause Grungust to break down after prolonged use.

There are two attack modes of Divine Voltage:

• Mjolnir Crush: Armstrong strikes the extended “sword of light” onto any target regardless of its distance.
• Thunderbird: Overdrive Grungust shoots overcharged lightning bolt onto target.

It is noted that Divine Voltage is a shared ability, meaning that Armstrong can perform it with either Forneus or Grungust, although the way it is executed varies with the Device.

Spoiler for offensive abilities (Forneus):

Colossal Burst of Heavenly Cloud
Armstrong uses the Forneus in its base form with a swift swipe in the air that creates a strong wind to cut the enemy.

Spinning Blade of Evening Sky
Armstrong uses the plasma generator to enlarge the Forneus into a larger katana-like blade, which is then swung as if it were a boomerang.

Rising Thunder of Destiny
Armstrong enlarges the Forneus into a large broadsword. He, then, uses it to perform a series of slashes before ends it with a clean, vertical cut.

Blade of Shining Heavens
Also known as Colossal Storm, Armstrong enlarges the Forneus to such a point that it’s almost too large for his arms to even handle. He lifts the weapon high overhead and proceeds to take to the sky. Then he drops down with a single bisecting slash as a finishing move.

Tornado Blade of Heaven and Earth
A variation of Divine Voltage Infinite Razor & Ride the Lightning, this attack is available only after Maxim agrees to assist him in battle. Maxim activates Trombe and transforms it into Pferde Mode, allowing Armstrong to ride on it (Maxim himself fuses with the Device during the sequence). Riding towards the enemy as a samurai on horseback, Armstrong then strikes with Forneus in high-speed horizontal slash, dragging it across the battlefield. Then he spins Forneus very rapidly to generate a whirlwind that carries the bisected enemy up into the air before adding a final horizontal slash upon the enemy. This combination attack is very flashy, often borderline-ridiculous but very powerful.

Regarding the Subjugation of Erusia, a brief precis is as follows: 25 years before StrikerS, MC 0050, the TSAB encountered a planet named Erusia, along with its sister planet Sotoa, who were using a refurbished formerly derelict lost TSAB cruiser as their flagship. The Erusians were friendly people, and were quite willing to join the TSAB peacefully... until they shot the negotiating party dead.

The reason? A translation screwup: the word used to translate "Administered" (as in Administered World) sounded like "Enslavement" in Erusian. Horrified and appalled, the Erusians slaughtered the negotiating party and blew the crap out of the TSAB's 6-ship peace fleet (4 ships destroyed, 2 badly damaged before escaping). The TSAB then spent 5 years preparing a punitive expedition and invasion to teach these backwater upstarts a lesson, the implementation of hardliner policy set by hawks in the TSAB.

The invasion didn't go as planned for either party; the space battle took 7 hours to finish (resulting in the near-total destruction of the Erusian Space Navy's warfighting ability and heavy TSAB losses), followed by orbital strikes into Erusian military bases and strongholds. Once that was complete, the invasion began - The Erusia Invasion Force landed in the Whiskey Corridor desert outside Farbanti, the planetary capital of Erusia, while the Sotoa Invasion Force landed in the Steir Highlands of Sotoa, Erusia's sister planet, poised to take the Sotoan capital of Cinigrad. With a force of 300,000 mages per planet, a mix of Ground Forces, Air Force, Navy and Enforcers, it was thought that the planets would be pacified within a month at least.

What happened was that the TSAB forces suffered many early defeats, unused to fighting opponents who used conventional weapons, until they began slowly adapting; the Battle of North Point is something the TSAB would rather not remember anytime soon: the city's defenders turned it into a massive fortress, ambush haven and a sniper's wet dream come true (essentially Battle of Stalingrad + Mosul + IEDs + OPFOR by Marines and Army and Special Forces).

1 1/2 years to 2 years into the war, however, the TSAB had begun securing cities and pacifying both planets (especially after a mage surge that taxed the TSAB's resources) and was pretty much winning the hearts and minds battle with Erusian civillians.

So a TSAB response to -Fate-'s senario.... on the heavy side, we have the Subjugation of Erusia. On the other hand the Subjugation pretty much soured the TSAB on large scale invasion operations, given the massive costs involved.... or did it? <.<

...this reminds me I need to get back to that political-ish look at post-Erusian War TSAB (TSAB archives refer to the War as the Subjugation of Erusia, but Erusians refer to it as the Erusian War)....aaaaaaand I'm rambling again).

I've got a war for the Bureau, it's been ongoing for over 30 years. Unlike Eurasia, this aggressor civilization had a century of experience in transdimensional exploration and combat by the time the met the Bureau. They also had the fleets to match them.
