finally got a chance to watch this, not a bad first episode. The characters are ok, battle scenes were a nice surprise, the OP may be my favorite of the season.

things i note about the first episode

:Riri's eyes seem to be to see energy of Huge/Charm when she seen the glow energy on piece of the Huge from the flashback.

:Yuyu's change from two years is easy to tell and it deals with her partner

we did see her partner at the end and makes you think she is alive but more then likely that was a ghost of her trauma from losing her. this is back up by part in the flashback, when Yuyu's partner weapon is used for just moment to defect that piece of Huge from the girls. if you look close, her weapon is nearly or same weapon as what Yuyu is currently using now.

either way, i may keep a eye on this for the battle scenes and the story.

this episode is giving us info on girls on how pledge work, what charms are and work, different types of charms work and other small bits. we also get the rest of the girls names and that most of them are first year.

having watched episode, my theory of yuyu (above) is looking true. look forward to episode 3 since it seems Yuyu will activate something called Lunatic Tracer. Ii expect this is when we will see Riri show her unique skill.

Spoiler for Episode 2:

I was a little skeptical while watching the second episode because of too much exposition but after going through it I'm starting to finally get what the worldbuilding is about, albeit slowly and the main girls that get properly introduced so far did a okay job of explaining it to Riri. I'm glad Riri is making a pledge to make Yuyu her Schutzengel despite the refusal at first. Kaede's character is at least fun so far and is growing in me, Fumi does her infodump work in her notebook but she should do something other than it, and Miriam is a lot mature in personality than I would expect. In the epilogue, Yuyu's Schutzengel is revealed to be dead through confirmation, and although it's not clear how she died, I might guess it did resulted from Yuyu's cowardice.

I finally get used to the character designs, despite not looking great as far they are proportionated, and the art peaks with excellence through a selection of dramatic scenes. This should get better from now on.

Does Riri even have a unique skill? Going by the character profiles, Yuyu looks like the only one with a special power.

I believe she does, as I mentioned with my post at the top. She seems to have the ability to see Huge magiia energy. I not sure if others can as well.

episode 2:

could be imagining things, but Itou looks like a younger Yuyu-sama.

Riri could have chosen the easy way... go with rich girl Kaede who likes her. But instead, Riri choose to follow moody girl Yuyu... maybe because Yuyu saved her years ago?

episode 3:

surprised... so the girl Misuzu who appears in Yuyu's dark room is actually just on her imagination? With her real roommate being revelead this episode.. weird and a little creepy at the same time. Hopefully, being partners with Riri could cure her from mental problem.

I have like only two other anime on Thursday and 5 on Saturday. Thankfully, (this included), a good number of those anime don't need that much need for focus, so I can multi-task some of these.

And for me it's fine. It now airs on Fridays in my timezone so i have 3 series on Thursday, Friday and Saturday instead of 2/4/3.

As for the ep itself: the action was decent and it is good they covered the flashback drama part pretty fast.

Spoiler for Episode 3:

This is actually a pretty nice episode. They managed to handle Yuyu's character drama very well, it's not forced at all and it ties pretty well into the story, and I like that it provided a resolution to the issue, which may allow her to brighten her smile again after spending the first two episodes being an emo loner. Her Lunatic Trancer Rare Skill is cool and I like that she can go Marie Antoinette mode too with her glowing red eyes. When Riri is trying her best to stop Yuyu from going berserk further, it's where their friendship is actually strengthening after weeks of initial distant bond, it helps that Riri is working hard to become a brave warrior albeit far behind from other Lilies since she came to Yurigaoka for the first time. I'm glad to see more main characters delivering their voices and how they are going to sound like as a casual seiyuu fan, and it's about time for Riri to make her own Legion and develop friendship with all of the future members besides Yuyu, Kaede and Fumi.

It's a little weird that they pushed it back to Fridays but at least I can watch it comfortably when I come home from a day of work.

Why didn't I think of this? Anyway, episode 4 was another good episode. I still find Riri and Kaede annoying but the other characters are okay so I can deal for now.

episode 4:

Fumi so happy to be invited to the legion. Kaede, of course has other reasons for joining. lol

did not expect Miriam to join in as well. Now they have someone who can fix charms in their group. ^__^

Yuyu did not expect so many people to join Riri's legion. Now, she's a bit uncomfortable?

Ando, the girl who likes cats is so nice and funny, she even has catfood ready. xD

forgot to post about episode 3, oh well the only thing i had to say about that one is i am calling Riri ability "resonance" (twin star exorcist).

episode 4:

- someone had mention in the comments in episode 3 where i watch it about yuri being their combine name and this episode just slams it into your face LOL

- since it is shaft, I hate we keep see that other team since i just keep seeing big death flags for some of them. there no way we aren't going to see some deaths of characters at least from other teams.

- yeah Blondie girl threw me off with how she reacted about the cat, for sure though she was going to be one of those real quiet cold ones with no girly side.

-Shenlin/Yujia seem to have good chemistry and i like how they act with each others, the small sample of the their abilities was nice,

-Yulia really impress me with her blocking that re defected bullet that must have came back faster then she shot it.

-Shen's abilities looks like she can store energy and redirect it. I look forward to see them in a battle.

- poor Yuyu, she didn't think riri could any members but she easily secure 6 members and Yuyu gain 1 by accident. all they need is that cat blonde girl and they will have 9.

I have a different theory. I read a bit on Yuyu's skill, lunatic trancer, and what it really does is store great quantity of negative magie (the same kind of magie the Huge have) inside Yuyu. That's what boosts her powers but at the cost of losing rationality. Based on that, I believe Riri's skill is the ability to purify negative magie, turning it from negative to positive. So when she touched Yuyu's Charm, Yuyu's negative magie became positive and transformed into a magie sphere. Since Lunatic trancer gathers a ton of negative magie, it's only natural that, when turned into positive, it would result in a powerful magie sphere.

Spoiler for Episode 4:

It seems things are getting darker than I would expect but let me start what's the most important with the episode: poor Riri is trying hard at recruiting the future members in her legion she shares with Yuyu, but while she got Kaede, Fumi and Miliam to boot, she failed to recruit Tazusa and wasn't aware that the other members she tried to get into are already members of other legions. Yujia's story and her chemistry with Shenlin is very good, it's nice to see other core characters getting their share of screentime and interaction with our quartet, I wasn't expecting that Yujia turns out to be such a shy girl that lacks confidence and just dreams to get stronger and be loved by somebody, and Shenlin is acting as the confident big sister figure trying to help Yujia overcome her obstacles at her pace. I'm glad Yujia succeeded the 10-shot round test to prove her first-rate skills and Shenlin's performance as a Lily is impressive for such a newcomer. Apparently it seems Moyu may not be such a nice girl and she and her father are planning to do something shady with Yurigaoka. Next episode is set at Riri's birthday, I'm looking forward to see Tazusa's full appearance, it's quite unexpected that she might display such an adorable cat-loving side and I certainly didn't mind too much that there are at least three girls in the series who love cats. I'm liking the series more and more, though I wish they would introduce the teacher and the classroom teaching scenes for some decent worldbuilding already.

You know, Yuyu uses iconic Nokia 3310 from 2000. Maybe it's just a peculiarity of all Lilies or they cannot use something newer in this warzone.
