Here's the latest trailer from G-Star 2014.

It is a thing of beauty.

+ apparently, this game is controller playable... that makes it even more beautiful in my eyes.

I'm console-bred... so Keyboard & Mouse ain't my thing. Still, I play FFXIV with a mix of all three, but I mostly use the controller, especially for combat.

After seeing this trailer, I CANNOT WAIT !

I'm optimistic that this wouldn't require bulky specs to work. I mean, part of Ragnarok Online's longevity lies in its ability to be played with low specs due to a 2D-on-3D approach. I also don't believe that hi-poly sprites and flashy skills make for a good game that would last. (Again, example is Ragnarok Online, especially its two "fail" sequels, Gate of the World and Legend of the Second.)

And I never thought that Kim Hak-kyu was the father of RO. Was he part of the original dev team?

According to this interview you need 4GB RAM and Intel Core i3 processor to run at maximum setting.

And yes, Kim Hak-kyu was the lead designer of RO before he left Gravity.

It's still at par with what you need to play most MMOs on max settings, save for probably Blade and Soul and TERA. Right now, I'm playing on a 2GB RAM and a dual-core processor with enough juice to run Dragon Nest without a hitch.

I was expecting that it would be the same as RO that it can run on low specs.

I am running with descent PC specs and I really want to play this game. If ever this will be out next year, I might consider upgrading my PC for this.

Note to developers: if, as stated in the interview, you're considering free-to-play with cash shop, you want to take a page from GGG's playbook (the cash shop for Path of Exile is strictly limited to aesthetics (alternate skins, non-combat pets, and so on) and conveniences (extra shared stash space, etc.)... and consider ArcheAge as an example of 'How Not to Do It'.

While I definitely have some misgivings about an F2P model, I'm sort of hoping ToS still releases with a F2P model so I can actually play it.

On another note, I'm finding it hard to believe the devs won't go with an F2P model, where I'm from anime-esque visuals like ToS' are practically a license to print money with all the aesthetics they can release.

Also, it's wishful thinking but I would be grateful if they ever decide to release the game on Steam.

I guess they are? The only other CBT I've ever joined was the PSO2 CBT for SEA and it lasted for more or less the same amount of time if I remember correctly.

Free-to-play is fine, just so long as it follows the Path of Exile model - that is, one wherein cash can buy only conveniences (i.e. extra character slots) or aesthetics. Pay-to-win, on the other hand, is something that should be avoided like the foulness it is.
