Ha, they release one funny episode after the other. Those guys never fail to amaze me.

lol at the Endless Eight reference.

From the length of the preview, we're up to some long arc next, probably four episodes.

So for people who've read the manga, does that arc about the past of Gintoki, Katsura, Takasugi and that other dude voiced by Shinichiro Miki actually exist or is the anime just making shit up? I know we'd seen most of the footage shown in this episode before, but it is all filler or were those particular bits actually shown in the manga? Cause stuff like how Takasugi lost his eye seems kind of important to just make up.

As for the next actual arc, I spotted in the preview a droopy female character voiced by Miki Itou, so it's bound to be a good one.

That's what I said. And would there be a more fitting moment for a troll like this than in an episode that was a troll itself? If people believed it in such an episode where everything was a troll they couldn't blame the creators, could they? It's the first time I've seen (AFAIR) Gintama characters saying to watch the preview.

it was still rather funny to see Shinpachi to take it. i was quite sure Takasugi had i also. its just another random result from the series formula

It's not the first time they showed an extended preview before a serious arc started. They did the same for Benizakura back then, and I think they did it for the Itou arc too, but I'm not positive.

Yeah it's happened before, though this is Gintama and i'll always be paranoid.

Good episode and this arc seems pretty interesting, but there have been so many stories about Gintoki and Otose's bond already, that I gotta wonder what this arc can and will do to keep that plot line fresh. Well, I'll see.

I was hoping for the time machine joke to be used again when he was pulling the cashier out though

Nanoka Ai as Pirako is very appropriate and yet at the same time very disturbing. I keep imagining seeing Kafuka from Sayonara Zetsubou sensei speaking those lines.... The combination of Pirako's cheerfulness and deadliness is just like Kafuka, who is also implied to be very dangerous in SZS.

I kept hoping Gintoki would yell "Zetsuboushita!"

I wonder why they are calling her name is too masculine...
If you remove the Pira part then you get the meaning...

As well as Man Birako...
Took me a while for figuring this out...

I hope that Chin Pirako will stay in Yorozuya after this arc...
It is good to have another crazy girl in the squad...

The mood has already been set, which is good because it'll be one hell of a ride. Especially like the new BGM piece at the start of the episode, which i'm sure will be used at a few important parts of the arc. I like Otose a lot and Jirochou seems like an awesome antagonist (and his younger self in the ED is quite attractive I have mixed feelings about Pirako though, so far I'm finding her annoying... But yeah, I thought the whole injury faking was hilarious __________________
