So Ayu is essentially an end girl type Fuko with Hanyuu's vocals? Cute but not too cute. I'll side with Nayuki for moeness I think.

There are several hard choices for me here. Kyou vs. Kagami for instance. They are almost the same in terms of character and style (not design since Clannad and Lucky Star have very different styles). Kyou is hotter than Kagami, but Kagami has a more moe design. (I had to roll for it).

Rika vs. Chiaki was hard because I am championing them both. But Rika scores higher. (I rolled anyway)

I actually voted Souseiseki for some reason. Maybe I was feeling sorry for her, maybe I thought, well she is a twin, therefore about the same as Desu in design. Then I remembered voice...Mako-chan, allied with Fate-o voice. Serious win and lose potential (mostly lose, but whatever).

Oh, right. Minhtam screwed up the results for Aquamarine 4. Saber actually beat Sakura Kinomoto and Suiseiseki beat Sakura Matou. There were two other matches that changed, but who cares about them, right?

It's basically the first light novel, and it goes over the light novel more accurately than the series did.

Seemed more like a blend of the first few episodes of the anime and the novel.

Spoiler for novel vs. anime:

The thing I liked about the anime was the part involving Yukari Hirai. In the novel, you really don't hear about what happens to her until you see Shana sitting in her seat in class. I like how they used her in the anime/movie to highlight Yuji's struggle with accepting what was going on and his feelings of urgency in trying and do something to preserve the memories of her. The scene where she disappears, while he's sitting next to her, is very powerful, IMHO... they even added a song to that scene in the movie to try and enhance it (unnecessarily, I think).

Also, in the anime/movie, I think a lot more emotion was conveyed between Yuji and Shana when he gave her that name.... the whole "Stop saying 'just'" thing. Being addressed on such a personal level like that seemed to have a greater impact on Shana in the anime. In the novel it was done in a couple of sentences, sitting in class, with Shana casually saying "Do what you like. I don't care for nicknames..."

Those are really the only things that stood out to me. But, I thought they were important scenes, very well done, in that second episode of the anime.

Having said that, I liked how the novel focused on the fight with Friagne without Margery Daw in the picture. The first half seemed close to the anime, but the second half got much more into thoughts and emotions and relationships... better explanations of motivations and insights. That was all great stuff and made it well worth reading.

Too bad only two of them have been published in English. I'll definitely be getting the 2nd volume next month.

Also, do we have anyone who can do Konomi, Tama-nee or Yurie's bios? ToHeart2 OVA didn't cover much for Konomi and I dropped Kamichu after 1 ep (the 8 million deities thing and its execution didn't appeal to me). Even if it's just going to Wikipedia and adapting what you see there, we need these bios written.

And I guess you saw the pic in an earlier post that I'm so Rozen-Maidened out I even bought the Pullip RM dolls I guess I'm one of the few who really loves the series...
