Episode 7 sounds like its going to be an awesome episode!

オオカミ獣人の罠を打ち破った（?）カミナたち一行。その前に現れた獣人・ヴィラル。前回の戦いに敗れ、武 士の誇りである兜をグレンラガンに奪われた雪辱を果たさんと再戦を挑みにきたのだ。そのまま激しい戦いを展 開するグレンラガンとエンキドゥ。戦いの趨勢が優位に傾きかけたとき、突如彼方から砲弾が飛来し吹き飛ばさ れる。激しい砲撃と共に現れたのは……山のような巨大なガンメン!圧倒的な戦力の前に撤退を呼びかけるヨー コたちだが、カミナは一歩も退こうとはせず無謀にも戦いを続けるがまるで歯が立たない。集中砲火にさらされ 、窮地に立たされるカミナたち。そんな彼らの前に新たなガンメンが現れる。彼らの正体は?!

Episode 7: That is, you do it!
After the trap of the beast man fail, a man who was defeated before appear before Kamina. Viral is back, he is here to challenge Gurren Lagann for a fight because his helmet, pride of the warrior, was taken from him. The battle between Grren Lagann and Enkidou is extreme, however while they were fighting a powerful shot is fire from far away interupt the fight. A huge ganmen of size of a mountain is approaching them (I guess its that battle ship). Yoko tells the party to retreat, however Kamina won't retreat even one step and start fighting recklessly. Gurren's teeth is broken and Kamina is exposed. The ganmen at last appear before them.. they are..

Please correct me if I am wrong.. but from the sounds of it, it sounds bad :3... we will be getting another awesome mech fight next week it seems.

- Shimon is totally a different person this episode. He just solo the big boss.
- They also introduced a bunch of new crews at once.. I am surprised....
- As a lot of you have guessed, Shimon's Lagann has power to combine. They are planning to have him combine with the battle ship.
- Its not Gurren dan, its Dai-Gurren dan!!
- Yoko is definitely going for Kamina.... aww don't die on me now Kamina
and most of all...Kamina might be kicking the bucket next episode already wth!? Nooooo

Wow, another crazy action-filled ep...

Nice to see Simon do something on his own in a fight; Kamina stepping aside to let him do it was great to see, too. I did find it funny that during the whole battle, anytime G-L got smacked around Yoko and the K girls would shout for Kamina while nobody said a thing about Simon (poor guy). The bit at the end with Yoko and Kamina looked like a good moment, though a translation would definitely help with the details of their conversation (sounded a bit too foreboding for Kamina)

i dont believe this...kamina is actually turning more docile and with that it could be hinted that simon is going to be taking the lead of things ~ hence the possibility of him (no i cant say it...its too dreadful ) ~ at the end of the ep we had a one on one talk between kamina and yoko ~ even then we see that kamina seems a lot more quieter than before...its almost as if he is in a "reflective" mood which normally means the flag being raised...lets hope this is not the case...

This is one crazy episode~~!

[7Th]

This episode was simply impressive, packed with both an incredible charge of adrenaline and meaningful character-plot development at once. It was like a non-stop combustion of manly spirit and energy that exceeded in the craziness factor we’ve come to love from Lagann yet felt strangely ominous and large scoped. Best Lagann episode to date, if I had something to say in the grade.

The animation at some scenes was insane even for this series, both due to movement and scene composition. It was the pure definition of the kanada goodness: aggressive, exciting and EPIC. I loved how the storyboarder creatively represented the close relationship between the pilots and the fights of their mechanic units by showing no real division between their interactions at all for they placed everyone in the same relative plane of action despite the well-achieved sensation of distance and size. And we’ve got some new Mori explosions for ultimate delight, too.

Whoa, what an awesome episode.

It had pretty much everything. Eye-candy animation, excellent storyboarding, action, funny moments, and indeed it was damn right epic.

I found it a bit hilarious that the "returning point" base was actually that huge ship-like Ganmen. And it's cool to see that the Gurren-dan has grown bigger and can count on more ganmen besides Gurren-Lagann.

On the technical side this episode was AWESOME. Great background art, great animation (indeed the explosions and all the debris flying around was really well done), and the usual epic musical score.

With all these positive things one should feel really satisfied if it wasn't for the fact that indeed episode 8 preview (and the fact that Kamina had Simon handle the huge battleship on his own) does hint that Kamina might bid farewell. Which is a sad thing (although we sort of saw this coming sooner or later as we speculated before). If Kamina is ever going to die in the next episode or in episode 9, I atleast do hope that Gainax will give him enough "glory", because he's seriously one of the best and amusing male characters I've seen in quite a long time.

I have faith in Captain Harlock who Kamina reminds me of by the way. That guy always found a way out.

This is a buddy-buddy title and Kamina is too popular to kill off in ep. 8. No one character could fill the void right now and the series momentum would be destroyed imo. Besides Simon ain't hot-blooded enough to carry the title yet. Kamina has to be around longer to indoctrinate him some more. Also, if Viral survives so does Kamina imo.

this is the episode i've been waiting for since 3. not just a return to form, but a perfect execution of it.

we see simon not only step up to the plate, but show just how talented he really is, from the clever tactic he uses to his actual piloting skills in carrying out his strategy. and, in parallel to that, the animation staff have really outdone themselves here.

i really really hope that kamina dies soon.... he pisses me off so much... and the Yoko X Kamina pairing is starting to piss me off cuz simon is getting shafted from all attention....its kinda sad that when GL gets hit around, everyone cares about Kamina but its Simon that eventually gets the job done but kamina gets all the credit

Well that's because Simon has not evolved into Kamina2 yet. So he has this personality that doesn't want to get all the attention. He's a shy, insecure type. He was also a whiner in the beginning. Kamina is flamboyant and hot-blooded and so loads characters and viewers gravitate towards him.

Yoko x Kamina make a good couple imo.

The age of the DVD buyers means that they are more likely to side with Kamina. That's also why Kamina is such a chick magnet imo.

When Simon becomes Kamina2, then every one will be all over him too imo.

Spoiler for Gurren Laggan episode 8:

Just watched the sub script with the raw and it was fantastic, best episode since number 3. (For those of you who wish to know about the Kamina and Yoko conversation, to summarise it was Yoko saying she was scared about him dying and she was about to say something else before she is inturupted). And it looks like next week they'll try to take over the battleship Ganzan and try to get the gurren to merge with it, and as much as i hate to say it well it does sort of look we'll be saying goodbye to Kamina next week. Personally though since episode one Kamina was waving a death flag over his head but i didn't expect him to be 'offed' until the end of act two not one. All evidence i've seen though does sort of point to this happing next ep im afriad as there's an epic battle with dozens of ganmen, wich i always figured would be Kaminas 'Waterloo' or 'Alamo' and then there's Kamina's words at the end of the preview and people seem to kicking up a fuss about the title (i don't know what it is but it supposedly isn't good). Not to mention two other facts, first being Simon cable of piloting the Gurren Lagann on his own and secondly being that Nia is going to be introduced soon, as in a preview (according to 7Th i think) in a magzine it said that there is a masive battle and Shimon is separated from the Great Gurren Brigade and after some time wandering he cames across a lake where he finds Nia in a Pod. Now wheter Nia will become the Gurren Lagann's new co-polit is unknow as i think it also said in the preview she has a Ganmen of her own. Also i think Viral may be kicking the bucket next week as well as he may have a new ganmen (i think it might the one with the blade like arms and shark grin) wich he could use to... well i won't say it... Kamina and then Shimon, in a fit of rage pulls of the drill attack wich we've seen in the preview and the OP and kills Viral as Viral seems somewhat redudant what with us now being aware of the beastmens leader 'The spiral king' and 'The Big Four' and 'The Capital' wich is most likley the flying city we've seen in the pre-relase art.
