(L) History's Strongest Disciple Kenichi (Shijou Saikyou no Deshi Kenichi)

I have the scanned mangas for years now but never seriously read it.
But after watching the anime, it got me interested.

Anyways, in the manga, Apachai was depicted/translated as a fighter with a child like behavior of some sort. (not sure 'cuz i only got to read up to vol 5)

But IMHO, Apachai was more in tune with the character of the famous Gay Muay Thai fighter Parinya Charoenphol/Nong Toom. That guy was merciless but deep inside, he/she was sweet and caring and affectionate.

Agree with Kari-no-sugata on the subject of realism when it comes to performing some of those Martial Art moves already shown in episode 2 and 4. These moves aren't exaggerated in anyway.

the crazy training is actually working for keiichi and man is he developing some strong arms he could have easily crushed that guy's leg...

Finally episode 1 is out, some kinks still need to be fixed but look forward to episode 2 soon!

This anime goes quite fast... for one based off a shounen manga.

Finally! *Thumbs up for Umai and Doremi*. Now I can actually understand the dialogue.

As for romance...Well, Judging from what I saw in the manga, I wouldn't really call it 'real development for romance'. It's one of those things like from School Rumble about relationships, minus the misunderstandings.

And yes, it's lovely they stick it closer to realism than most fighting animes regarding the various moves.

well the relationship between kenichi and miu is a one sided track atm...kenichi loves miu but so far she hasnt shown any signs of loving him back...she has a "helping a friend" attitude towards him...hope this changes tho

It's most certainly a one-sided affair, though the manga has been teasing us about Miu's feelings for Kenichi, and at least from my latest volume (21), it seems that there is a bit of development...Though every bit of development so far ends up in some form of hilarity most of the time.

Abbachai, or Apachai is pretty interesting, though I think the master of chinese martial arts and Miu's grandpa (don't know their Japanese names, sorry) are pretty funny too.

Man episode 6 was hilarious. It also brought soul into Kenichi and reaffirmed that this series isn't going downhill anytime soon. The sister's very cute, and all the characters are just so interesting and mesh well.

wow...kenichi's family (excluding mom) is actually quite protective of him...i mean his dad was going to go to the dojo with a gun in order to get kenichi back safe and sound...while kenichi entered into zombie mode his little sis also wants to help...but guess mom didnt like the idea so she smashed a tray on his husband's head in order to stop him
at the dojo ken gets strapped onto some wierd contraption that "forces!" him to do the splits...ouch >.< but the lucky bastard gets miu's brest pressed against his back (seen as she is the one powering the thing) and ken finds relief at last

but with ken's sister suddenly popping up miu looses concerntration and falls on ken causeing the split and it seems that he breaks his legs...lol! but master Koetsuji and soon heals him...in the form of a kick...
it was nice to see some background info on miu when she was a child and ken knows that he also had to train hard in order to becomeas strong as she is now...

nice kenichi x miu moment at the end and also the sly appearace of Shigure i want to know more about her...shes cute and has a gentle voice to boot ^__^

Gah...You people watch the RAWs and understand them or something? Damn it...Only finished episode 1.

Oh well, at least I can console myself considering that I have 21 volumes of the manga anyway. Just wanted to say episode 1 didn't disappoint me.

EDIT: And oh, Mamiko Noto was perfect for Shigure's role.

i watch the raw too... i don't really understand too well, but i read the mangas first then watch the raw for the animation only, basically the story is better in the manga since it is more complete and Miu has a more sexy drawing ( the top and bottom are more detailed than the anime version) . ^_^


Anyone notice Miu looks alot like Cammy of street fighter. ^_^
