Anyways, I really just popped out of my hole to observe that it's time for a new chapter and to ask a question. First, the question:

I've noticed that there are a number of native German speakers here on the forums. With that in mind, could I pester anyone for a few translations, so I don't have to rely on my epic lack of skills?

I might just give it a shot, now that I'm back from "Anime Marathon", Germany Being one of the main helpers is exhausting, stressful, and I'm often too busy to actually enjoy the Con. And yet, it is strangely rewarding...

Nice use of Vivio to play the "good cop"- with her personality, and the strain
poor Mclaren is under (is that a reference to "McLaren- Mercedes, the Formula One racing team?)
I feel you've managed to subtly show so far in the fic that Vivio may carry quite a bit of the Saint Kaiser's legacy that she (and perhaps her parents) realise. Not to mention what's to be gleaned from that Strikers X drama CD.

Some of it made it in at least, and I'm happy for that much. Added an extra 2,000 words to the final chapter and revised what I wanted. In all, I'm pleased ^_^

Right now I'm illegally using the library for forum chat so I'll give you my full review later but I wanted to tell you that the Hayate/Vivio interaction was very heartwarming. I really thought it was beautiful.

Well, I'm sorry that you weren't able to put in all the new material that you wanted to, but I can say that the final story is an improvement on the original forum-shorts version, and I liked the original to begin with, so that's all good, right. Plus, hey, it's finished! And as a bonus, we get more "Synergy" as well!

Edit: I am apparently an idiot; I clicked to add PS:V to my ff.net "Favorite Stories" and it was, apparently, already there. *sigh*

Hmm...I've noticed you've been italicizing Synergy in this thread...planning on making it novel-length???

Yep, that's where his name comes from. I swear, the real problem with writing a Nanoha novel is all the car names for all the OCs, especially the bit parts that walk on for one chapter and are never seen again. If I ever name a character "Model T" you'll know I've just plain hit the wall. And thanks again!

Yuuno jumped into his car and quickly slammed the key into it.

"Hello, Yuuno," The robotic voice greeted it's master calmly. "What is the rush?"

"I have a man who's threatening to bomb a bus if it drops below fifty miles per hour! Let's go, Kit!"

From the scene onlooking the cheaply made movie set immiation, Vice was looking at the scenirio though a pair of binoculars. "Vice! What be the situation, foo?" The voice came up through his headset clearly.

Vice smirked and turned his helicopter to follow the bus. "I hear ya Griffith, calm down."

"Can ya stop it without the bomb going off?"

"Oh, I can stop it alright." Vice replied calmly as he saw the LED on Yuuno's car speed towards them. "I'm going to need a few things, though. Yuuno?"

"I hear you, what do you need?"

"A paperclip, a box of matches, three feet of twine, and some bubblegum."

Silence went through the radio a moment before Griffith came back on the line. "What you be needin' tha gum for fool?"

"I'm going to chew it, I just need the foil wrapper."

Well, I think the fic is good enough, now. I thought about adding more suspense, but whatever. It is what it is. It is Subaru, Teana, and Fate versus someone with a really bad pun of a name. 2400 words, I think. I'll just consider this a beta work. I keep finding things to correct, but I'm not about to stay up late tonight.

"Ssh." Teana shushed her partner. She added a stern glare to be sure of it. She knew her partner was trustworthy, but stealthy was not her style. They had been staked out in a shadier part of Cranagan city for the past few hours. The sound of small arms fire power had startled them, but not surprised them. As useless as those weapons were against them, they sure made a pretty penny on the local black market. If these kids would just go to school and learn magic, they'd stand a better chance getting into trouble the usual way.

Right now they were just cliches taken right from a bad crime movie. At least stray fire deaths were uncommon. Many children have storage devices on hand which can at least protect them long enough for a quick escape. It was nothing a child could be spoiled by. Teana and Subaru weren't here for the kids. Not this time. Five officers have died to poison burns

Of course if Subaru saw one in danger, she'd be there in an instance. It was what she did and she always did it well. This wasn't a rescue mission, but sometimes Teana thought they might be the ones in need of a rescue.

Teana turned to her right sharply down an alley. She trained her gun and scanned the area. A sleeping old man, probably a veteran and some pet rats keeping him company no doubt. The alley smelled of death and liquor. This was one of the favorite hunting grounds for humans and rats alike. There were a few pasta shops with good garbage pickings no doubt. Teana fought not to hold her nose.

Subaru grinned and gave Teana a thumbs up. She moved on ahead to the next alley. Subaru frowned as she scanned down its length. This district needed more lights and more local police rounds. Still, sometimes you had to accept being assigned to clean up their messes. A rogue mage had been reported in the area. This bothered Hayate quite a bit. Subaru knew that much, but she didn't know why.

She had to ask. She turned to Teana and smiled. She pointed to her head and Teana frowned, but it was hard to see it in the darkness. "Why did Hayate-san look annoyed at assigning us here?"

Teana nodded and tossed a quick reply back, "She thinks its a trap."

"Oh."

"There's nothing here, should we call it a night?" Teana asked.

Subaru blinked, "You are asking me?"

Teana let her guard down and holstered Mach Caliber. She still used her mind to talk, "We are only filling gaps in the police forces division here. We've already done just as much as they should have at least."

"I know, but... you know how important this mission is." Subaru tried to argue, but they were getting nowhere whether they stayed or slept on it. This person would only be found if she wanted to be found. "OK, let's go."

"We'll sleep on it, talk a new plan and start again tomorrow night." Teana smiled.

"Hello." Green lips smiled.

"YOU!" a policemen shouted. This person in a black and green leotard had to be the one they spoke of.

"Me." She grabbed his face and slammed him into the ground. His skull burnt through as what little basic protection he had bubbled away. "Ew." She wiped her hand off and walked away.

"I should get a coffee." She nodded.

While they slept, the night was more alive than they thought. They awoke to the news that another officer was slain. No evidence was tied to the scene. Autopsies only told the tale of precision. It was this precision and choice of target that led Hayate to believe they knew who it was. She was an ex Enforcer with A rank skills.

Fate returned from a mission of her own and demanded to be debriefed once she got word of the woman's name. Hayate frowned, "I don't want to invite all of section 6 into this matter. She is killing to get our attention. She will attack us for sport, but only if we meet her in her playground."

"Where is that?" Subaru asked. She was seated beside Teana once again.

Hayate cleared her throat, "I don't know."

Fate wanted to pace back and forth, but she had to settle with bouncing her foot. "She likes to toy with her victims. Murder is the last thing she'd do."

"She's killed numerous officers." Hayate frowned.

"None were on par with her skill level. She wants us."

They took the theory in and gave it a moment, Hayate spoke up, "Then we fight on her terms. Fate-san, please join this mission."

"Thank you, Hayate-san." Fate was pleased to assist her students. Or at the very least, her friends. It was dangerous out there no matter how skilled they were now. The unknown was to be feared and assessed.

Teana sighed. She had been reading every piece of information and news she could get on this mysterious mage killer. Still, what perplexed her the most was that she never went after high ranking mages. It didn't feel like she was afraid of it. Surely this person was competent enough to know whose attention she was getting.

No one in Cranagan could possibly be so capable, nefarious and ignorant enough to forget that the TSAB exists.

"Tia, Tia!" Subaru smiled. She saw how frustrated her partner was getting over this. She simply had to do something to disturb her train of thought. Her pretense was of course, doing something to cheer her up. "I brought candy!"

She frowned and tossed her hair back. She was growing well, but candy was the least of things she wanted right now. "Thank you, Subaru." She smiled and took the candy bar from her. Still, she learned to like the little troublemaker.

"How is it?" Subaru looked at the news reports and nodded. "Not good."

"Two more low ranking police officers were found murdered. Their standard barrier jackets were melted through. They died of intoxication."

"Poison?"

"Toxicologists have not pinned it down yet." Teana frowned. This made more sense than less. She was afraid of that fact.

"Magic?" Subaru saw her partner's eyes. They were on the same train of thought even if the idea was less than palatable.

"Yes. It has to be." Teana stood up and tore off the wrapper. "I'm going to consult with the Infinite Library. You can have a look through here again. We'll meet again for tonight's second mission."

"Sounds like a plan!" Subaru saluted. She still had her candy bar in her saluting hand. Teana smiled and walked by.

Fate decided to watch over the station's perimeter that was attacked the night before. The investigator part of her resume was itching to find out what had happened. She knew everything Teana and Subaru knew, but it didn't matter when facing a threat. This mage was hoping to take down someone more prominent before she would be caught. A head on the wall no matter the cost.

Heck, if she only managed to scar one of the aces, she might get a job with the TSAB and that would be unfortunate. Fate had to smile at the leniency she had been given, but hiring criminals with obvious sinister intentions was troublesome for her. They had gone through it before with the numbers. Rehab helped, that there was no doubt, but they still needed to be watched over.

"If I was a poison using mage killer, where would I lurk?" Fate scanned the area again with a soft chant of a spell. This person had to be a shadow user. Someone who liked to stay invisible and strike in stealth. She hated those methods. She was trained even as a child in seeing through it, but times have changed. Skills have improved.

Who had the upper hand?

"Fate-san!" Subaru waved and ran up to her acting commander. Section Six was in limbo since the Scaglietti incident had closed. Rouge missions were there for the taking by the ground forces. Hayate was in line for promotion, but do to certain things, it was proving harder than it should have been. Some people didn't like new faces in their departments.

"Hello, Subaru-san, Teana-san." Fate smiled. They had grown, it was hard to refer to them as anything but equals. She wondered if it pained her to think this, but she was too proud of them to worry over it.

"I have a file to show you," Teana handed over a file folder. "I collected what information I could find on the magic she might be using."

"Good, I'm proud of you both." Fate smiled and took the folder. She leafed through it and handed it back. "I heard from Section 8."

"SpeCops?" Subaru's mouth was agape. The two organizations rarely mixed, but given the powers the criminal was using. This should not have been a surprise.

"Spec Ops, Subaru." Teana corrected her. Their rivalry was notorious, even if only the members of section six having nothing at all known about the highly secretive enforcer branch of the ground forces. They were information agents specializing in espionage, sabotage, and negotiations. They were competent fighters, but more for skill than latent abilities and not all were mages.

"Correct, an agent has informed me they discovered the name of this rouge mage. They also informed me they will not interfere whatsoever in this case." Fate smiled, but she was not happy.

Teana nodded. She was beginning to understand this. "If they interfered, that would mean she is one of their own."

"Possibly."

Subaru was looking back and forth at them. She didn't quite follow this.

"If they let us go after her, we might learn methods of discovering and dealing with section 8 members."

"I do not believe they see that as a threat to their group." Fate answered.

"Arrogance?"

"Truth, more likely. Her name is Scion Naido. Code name Cyanide. She is thought to be an artificial mage made from a splinter research group affiliated with Project Fate."

"How many labs were there?" Subaru asked.

The two looked at her, they didn't actually have a clear answer, "Possibly as many as there are artificial mages." Fate offered. "All three of us will hunt tonight. Watch each others' backs. I believe since I'll be out there, she will strike us."

Teana nodded, "That's what I felt, she couldn't be doing anything but luring us out."

"You'll be a fine enforcer someday, Teana."

"Thanks you." Teana blushed. Subaru laughed.

"Let's go!" Subaru pumped her fist in the air.

The night had dried up just a bit as the soft rain became a memory. The weather was nice, but not cozy. The alleys were as dark and scary as they were the night before. The hair stood up on the back of Teana's neck as she slowly walked over to a lamp post. She kicked it, but the light didn't come on. She laughed upon thinking it was something that Subaru might do. Still, if she had done it, the light would have surely turned on. Either that or broken off and fall upon her head.

She heard a soft hissing sound in the distance followed soon by a familiar cry of pain. "Mach Caliber!" She affirmed.

"Ready."

She dashed down the road to where Subaru was just before. Subaru turned to her and tried to wave her off. Teana raised a shield as she realized the very mist in the air was poison.

Fate dashed over next and fired off a massive beam blast next to Subaru. The mist was blown free and Subaru bounced and collided into Teana. They landed harshly a yard further away.

Teana was shocked as her senses caught up with the action that just transpired. She neglected to notice Fate scanning the area and blasting away other pockets of poison. She only saw the burn damage that ate through flesh and metal. It was nothing like the mission they failed before, but it hurt to see. The memories of the fire stirred up emotions she couldn't bare with.

Subaru smiled. "You're crying again, Tia."

"Idiot." Teana went to wipe a tear.

"STOP MOVING!" Fate shouted. She used a Sonic Move and carried them both out of the area. Before they knew it, they were back in their transport vehicle. Fate shoved Teana's face in a full sink of water and Subaru into a running bath. "Strip, both of you!" Fate demanded. They knew she was angry, but it wasn't at them.

A harsh hour passed and Fate got out of the bath herself. "I'll explain."

"I'm glad." Subaru smiled. Her face was scarred, but the acid was gone. Her lungs hurt, but she was calm. Teana was much less injured.

Fate nodded, "Acidic barrier. Both corrosive and poisonous. It's weak against attacks as it is not a defensive barrier. It's also not very large. Teana you almost went blind when you were about to wipe your eye. I'm sorry for yelling at you."

"No, no, thank you." Teana nodded.

"Good, Subaru, the damage to your lungs must be looked at, but she is out there right now watching us."

"We should go back out?" Subaru asked, "If you want to go, I'll go!"

"Subaru..." Teana smiled uneasily.

"We'll need to be more prepared." Fate nodded. "We'll have to put this night behind us."

Alarms rang out as the perimeter of the vehicle was disrupted. Fate gritted her teeth. The tires blew out and the vehicle shook. "The defenses aren't holding." Fate spoke. "Teana, get ready to blow her away."

"Sta..."

"Ssh." Fate put up a finger. She walked to the back hatch and placed a heavy barrier just inside the walls. The outside had to be soaking in poison. She shook her head. "Call for backup. We're trapped in."

"Understood." Teana grabbed for the radio.

They listened to the sounds. Their communications were broken. They were alone. "Subaru, how are you feeling?" Fate knelt by her side.

"Hurts to breath."

"How's your face?"

"It's OK."

"It's killing me." Fate said it with a straight face. Subaru blinked and chuckled, but it hurt even more. She started coughing.

"Sorry." Fate smiled. She cast a small healing spell on her chest and hoped it'd at least ease the pain. She would much rather have Shamal look at this.

Outside, "Lovely." Green lips shifted into a sinister grin. She tossed her long black hair behind her shoulder out of habit and raised her right hand. "Have another." She rained down upon the vehicle again with orbs of yellowish green. The vehicle shook and the armor corroded. Still, it'd take far more power to break through it.

"She's trying to crush us."

"So, what do we do?" Teana asked.

"Play on her weaknesses."

"Child's play. Aces indeed." She landed beside the vehicle and decided to finally make her presence known. Her right arm glowed and she punched the side of the transport. The whole vehicle rocked and soon righted itself. The wall melted around where she had punched.

"She's right outside." Teana motioned with her thumb. Fate nodded.

"CRUSH!" Scion raised both arms and her aura swirled about her. The gaseous barrier she erected condensed upon the transport. It buckled and convulsed. The rubber on the tires were turned into a sick steam.

A flash caught her eye.

She stopped her attack and smiled.

Teana was standing there off to one side with Mach Caliber fully charged and locked on. "You dare walk in my Eden?" Her aura turned green and boiled into a black soup. She expelled her aura out in a massive acidic ripple. The concreted melted and the transport almost burst from the impact. Fate held it up as best she could with all her defensive magic.

Teana remained there. "Sta~r Li~ght!" She shouted.

"What?" Scion walked forward. "It's an illusion. Of course." She lightly bopped the side of her temple. "You'll die soon enough." She held up a hand. "Blightning!" Her device materialized into weapon form. A black and green sickle with a chain. She started to spin it with incredible speed. The poison barrier immediately concentrated around it. She flung it at the transport and sheered off a corner, The vapors poured in, but were stopped by a barrier. It wouldn't hold for long.

She pulled it back and spun it again. Within the whirring silence. She turned to her other side. It was far too late.

"BREA~KA~!" The sickly green eyes lit up as she took in the firepower coming her way.

The hospital was used to this kind of thing now. Shamal had stopped by, but she wasn't needed for the primary procedures. Scion was also hospitalized.

"So, have you hit on any nurses?" Teana joked.

"Ah....no..." Subaru blushed. Her face was wrapped up, but she was feeling better. "Should I?"

"No... I mean... never mind..." Teana turned away. "I'll be back. I'm... going to see Fate."

"Alright."

Teana sat down outside and saw Fate walk by. She smiled, but she didn't wave. She had too much on her mind.

"Subaru will be alright, she's lucky."

"Lucky?" Teana smiled. "She's just too stupid to die." She laughed softly.

Yuuno jumped into his car and quickly slammed the key into it.

"Hello, Yuuno," The robotic voice greeted it's master calmly. "What is the rush?"

"I have a man who's threatening to bomb a bus if it drops below fifty miles per hour! Let's go, Kit!"

From the scene onlooking the cheaply made movie set immiation, Vice was looking at the scenirio though a pair of binoculars. "Vice! What be the situation, foo?" The voice came up through his headset clearly.

Vice smirked and turned his helicopter to follow the bus. "I hear ya Griffith, calm down."

"Can ya stop it without the bomb going off?"

"Oh, I can stop it alright." Vice replied calmly as he saw the LED on Yuuno's car speed towards them. "I'm going to need a few things, though. Yuuno?"

"I hear you, what do you need?"

"A paperclip, a box of matches, three feet of twine, and some bubblegum."

Silence went through the radio a moment before Griffith came back on the line. "What you be needin' tha gum for fool?"

"I'm going to chew it, I just need the foil wrapper."

The steady beeps coming from the monitor system next to me filled the silence of the room I was currently sitting in. I don’t know if it was because Syn was unconscious or because I was just so worried for her, but our bracelets had turned green, allowing the cord binding us to expand to a point where the connecting point just glowed a steady color without needing to bind us together. I still sat next to her, however, knowing that Kayen would be here shortly once he found out what had happened. Syn’s back was damaged pretty badly, but thankfully the smooth cut was only long and not very deep. I knew it wouldn’t leave a bad scar, but there would be a mark there. The same as the ones that littered my mama’s bodies. To the unknown eye they weren’t visible, but it you knew exactly where to look, you would find them. Magical healing had that drawback, but considering the alternatives… I shook my head and looked down at Syn’s still body laying on the bed. She would be a little weak and slow for days while her body continued to heal itself, but other than that she was fine, and for that I was thankful.

Claiming this is new would be a lie since it's just a reworking of something posted waaaaaaaayyyyy back but anyhoo here's Interview with a Mage: Yuuno.

Yuuno liked to think of himself as a sensitive man. He liked to think he was, a thoughtful, respectful man, the kind you could trust whole heartedly. Years of growing up with Nanoha and the others had taught him to be patient and calm no matter what happened. However—

“Please Mr. Yuuno! Just one hour! That’s all I need!” FLASH.

“Get that camera out of my face please.”

—all the patience in the world wouldn’t have been enough to deal with this girl.

“Excuse me but I have work I need to do,” Yuuno tried to plaster on his best fake smile and be a polite as possible but this girl made it nearly impossible.

The red head couldn't have been more than “5'2 but she radiated energy. She certainly dressed like a member of the press. She had seemingly lined her entire coat with pens. Black, red, green, she was quite the rainbow of pens. A camera, the old fashioned one Yuuno recalled seeing back on earth- The kind that was big enough to be an effective bludgeoning weapon- , hung around her neck.

She wasn’t dissuaded by his rejection, Yuuno made a note to ask Nanoha if one of her students—the one with the blue hair if he remembered correctly—had a cousin. “Please it’s just an interview!”

Yuuno shook his head. It was never just an interview. Never. The first interview would always and without fail lead to a scathing “breaking story” filled with “direct quotes” that were totally and truly out of context and made him look like a love sick puppy and his friends like a barrel of freaks. Nanoha trusted him not to cause any more rumors after the... threesome scandal.

“Why not?” The girl followed him as Yuuno rode one of the libraries ladders across one of the countless bookshelves. He was at least a foot up above her but she still managed to get in his personal bubble.

“Look I’m not interested in being fodder for whatever paper you work for,” He slammed the book he had been pursuing shut and shot her a truly nasty glare that he immediately felt sorry for giving. Yuuno wasn't good with the mean thing; once after knocking a would-be mugger over he'd given the man twenty bucks. His expression softened, “I mean,” Yuuno let out a soft sigh and rubbed his head I just don’t want to make a mistake and cause trouble for my friends.”

“But I promise not to write anything bad,” She nodded her head vigorously and proceeded to flash her thumb up at him.

“Or print any speculation without any fact behind it?” Yuuno nudged his glasses up trying to give her the most serious Yuuno-sensei look he could.

She hesitated, seemingly thinking about how much money she'd make if she did write sheer speculation, then burst back into her perky self, “I swear!” She was so close Yuuno could tell she'd eaten a chili dog for lunch. “I swear by my name Sakura Impreza!”

“A-ah Miss Impreza… you’re a little… close.”

She shot backwards, “ah… ah… SORRY! I’m sorry. I’m so sorry!” FLASH! The camera went off again

“I-it’s not that big of a problem.” Yuuno squinted and tried to get his eyes to work again. If he was going to give an interview it might as well be to this girl, if for no other reason then to get her to stop asking him. Besides it seemed if any journalist was honest it was this one. He took a deep breath and turned to the girl, who was still shaking with passion. “I’ll give you… half an hour and… I won’t answer any questions I don’t want to—”

“THANK YOU SIR!” She grabbed his hands, rapidly shaking them up and down. “Thank you so much!”

“A-ah you’re welcome?”

After ensuring that Arf could handle the library-Though it wasn't as if any trouble ever occurred there- Yuuno led the very eager Impreza to an empty room in the far corner of the Infinite Library. Yuuno had no urge to be overheard by someone who would take it out of context.

Yuuno settled himself down into a chair and motioned for her to do the same. After they were both situated he “Alright, you can start now”

Her eyes lit up, she leaned in and rummaged around in one of her coat's pockets with one hand while grabbing a pen with the other. “Yeah yeah!” She pulled out a note pad and started to flip through it. Thup thup thup. “Alright… what… is your name!”

Yuuno resisted the urge to chuckle, it really was cute in a way. She was so serious and yet so new at this. “Yuuno Scrya, age 19.”

She scribbled it down “Oh! Yes yes! Um… second question! What is your relationship to Nanoha Takamachi?”

Yuuno knew it would come up eventually but to come up as the second question was a little… Yuuno chuckled, “Nanoha is…”

“Yes,” Impreza leaned forward, ready to take in every word.

What was the right term? “She’s…”

“Yes! Yes!” She was practically jumping out of her chair if she had any more energy Yuuno swore she would explode.

“She’s… something like a little sister to me.” And just like that Yuuno popped the balloon of her excitement.

Ms. Impreza deflated, “Oh I see.” She sighed and wrote in her notebook.

Yuuno shook his head and smiled sympathetically. Alas his love life was not the most fascinating of subjects. “Sorry to disappoint.” Once upon a time it was true Yuuno had had feelings for Nanoha—or at least he thought he had—but the truth was a good amount of soul searching had made Yuuno realize his feelings, while definitely love, weren’t the kind he had thought they were.

But there weren’t proper words to describe their relationship. They weren’t siblings, they weren’t lovers, best friends wasn’t even the right term. Yuuno loved Nanoha more then anyone else, and Vivio was like his own daughter, but there was just... nothing like that between them. Though they had tried it… once... but there wasn't anything there really and they'd just returned to their nameless relationship.

“Sorry to be so boring,” Yuuno shrugged, “the tabloids make my life much more interesting than it is.”

“No no,” She shook her head hastily. “It’s okay that you're boring.”

“O-oh I see...” Yuuno scratched the side of his head and looked off to the side. The proper response would have been to say, 'no you're not boring at all'.

“Alright question 3!” She flipped through her notes. “What about Fate T Haralown? What’s your relationship with her?”

“Hmm?With Fate?” Yuuno tapped his chin then after a moment or two of leaving Impreza in suspense he responded. “Same. Like a sister.”

She sunk into her chair, the camera clunking onto the table top. She'd obviously expected something big. “Nothing more? So… all that talk about you two competing for Ms. Takamachi’s affections is…”

“Rumor and nothing more.”

She sighed and nodded, dutifully writing it down. “Right. Like a sister…”

“And Hayate’s like a sister too.”

Another sigh, “Ah. I see…”

Those three girls, Yuuno shook his head and fought back a laugh just thinking about them. Once, a good eight years ago, Yuuno had felt left behind. The truth was he’d been left behind the minute Nanoha had picked up Raising Heart. The reality was they just didn’t need him nearly as much as he needed them. But he tried to help them anyway he could, even if it was just looking up data for them, or offering an ear or a shoulder when needed. That was Yuuno’s purpose and even if there was only a small amount he could do he was happy to fulfill it.

“Mmm well…” She looked down and for a moment Yuuno thought all her energy had burnt up. “If they’re your sisters… what’s your real family like?!” Apparently not.

Yuuno flipped his ponytail off of his shoulder, “those girls…” he looked up right over Impreza’s head, lost in fond thoughts. “And… all the others—” every one of them, Arf, Vita, Signum, Shamal, Lindy, Amy, the twins, even Zafira… and Chrono.—“They’re my family and they’ve always been that.” Yuuno owed the Scrya clan, but they had never truly been a family to him, not in the way the others were.

She nodded. “So… you’re not seeing anyone?” She looked up at him, as if trying to will him into having a girlfriend.

Yuuno couldn’t help but feel sorry for her, she obvioulsly. “No not all.” She was just a kid after all.

“Oh,” Impreza stood up with a melancholy, and meladramatic, sigh, “Well I guess I’ll go then.”

“I’m sorry I can’t help you but...” he motioned for her to hand him her notebook and pen. He couldn’t stand leaving her sad.

Impreza handed him the pad and sat patiently, camera in hand.

“If you go here,” Yuuno finished scribbling on the page and handed it back, “And hand the person there this paper, I’m sure you’ll get a more interesting interview.”

Impreza looked down at the paper. It took her a moment for it to set in but when it did her eyes lit up. “Thank you sir!” FLASH! As soon as her camera went off she proceeded to run and stumble out of the library at a high speed Yuuno had only seen Nanoha use.

Yuuno wasn't quite sure what to think in truth “What an odd girl that one is.”

“Excuse me~!” Sakura Impreza banged on the door of the address Yuuno had given her.

“Urg,” a voice came from within the house followed by the sound of a lock clicking. “If this is you Yuuno I swear I’m going to kill you for bothering me on my day—” the door swung open, revealing one Admiral Chrono Harlaown—“off.”

Sakura handed the paper to the stunned Admiral, with something like a mild smirk, “I'm here to interview you sir.”

Chrono looked down and started to read out loud. “‘I’m calling in my favor- Yuuno’.” The Admiral blinked. Then he turned red and dashed inside his house, “DAMN YOU FERRET CHANGLING!”

FLASH.

“Nice boxers sir!”

Yuuno was at the end of his patience. Honestly, how many coupons did the woman in front of him have? All he wanted to buy was a bag of trail mix but of course the ten and under line was closed so he had to wait behind all this woman and her coupons.

He looked to the side, searching for something to read to temporarily dispel his boredom. Instead he found something else entirely.
