The *removed* sub is excellent, I couldn't believe the quality of the subtitles. When you consider how long old fansub groups used to take...well, it gives you good idea about the quality of the job *removed* did in such a short period of time.

Episode 15 has to be the best episode yet! I didn't think Death Note could get any better...

I loved it when Light started saying how he'd finally got L after Misa saw him, only for L to answer Misa's phone! It seems being perverted can save your life. :P

The humorous L x Misa part certainly made the way L treated Misa afterwards rather shocking. Sure, he doesn't know how Kira can kill, but it did seem like a cruel thing to do to her.

The ending, while not leaving us with a cliffhanger as huge as last time, certainly gave us DN fans food for thought. I'm not sure what Light meant when he said goodbye to Ryuk at the end... I'll have to see if re-watching the episode helps explain (anfs didn't include the preview >_<). Maybe he's going to ditch Ryuk and let Rem follow him around as his Shinigami in order to kill L? She seems happy to kill L if Kira will help free Misa.

i have to say this was a 1st for me, after over 20yrs of watching anime, an eps of anime that actually left me feeling creeped out, even now 6hrs after I watched the raw. i still feel slightly like that :O
At least now I know where a certain image from a death note doujin comes from now.....

Everything to this point having been said, I don't belive it will be "L" taking out Light, I think L has this pretty much set up things (by sharing his information) for Light's own Father to take Light-down, (by having to kill Light himself).

This is episode was full of surprises. Creepy, suspenseful, and it looks like things are really picking up the pace now

- Light kissing Misa. I really never expected that from Light's disinterest in her romantically. Poor Misa... getting even further involved with a guy who is only using her.

- L examining hair strands. Wow, physical evidence of some kind? Who woulda thunk?

- L out in the open. It's funny that Misa probably would've gotten his name had it not been for Light's overeager push aside. From the previews last time, I had though Light would've taken Misa's phone (presumably a camera one) and taken a picture of L. Guess I was wrong about that. Wouldn't that have been easier though?

- L stealing Misa's phone. Then Light calls Misa thinking L is so dead now after meeting Misa, only to have it picked up by L. Wow, crazy stuff.

- Misa's ringtone is the ending theme song XD (... I think I'm going to put that on my phone too >_>). And L's fascination by it was exceptionally creepy too. L was just so much creepier than usual throughout the whole episode. He moves a lot too, which I can't really imagine that well. He seems so stationary most of the time XD.

- Of course the biggest shock was Misa being captured and the way she was tied up. It was creepy, and I really felt sad at the way she was treated. It was so nice to see Rem reassure Misa that everything would be okay, and sad to see them part from each other.

- I really wonder how L will explain the strand of Misa's hair being brushed aside by Rem and how Light gets them all out of the situation. I'm a bit glad that Light seems to have much more to deal with now. Things seemed too easy before, but now he's got his work cut out for him.

Awesome episode. Can't wait for next week.

If by quality, you mean completely incorrect, you would be right. Real subs don't exist and talking about them even if they did is forbidden.

first L is pinned down by a pincer move from light...then L gains misa as blackmail to hammer light's head in (almost causing him to give up) now light gains yet another death note and one silenced misa...how crazy is this O.o and so the battle of witts goes on...those two are like roaches...no matter how many times they get crushed they both pop up again O.o

perfect! 10/10

This is how L dodged the bullet, then. How cheap!
The hair...it was most likely taken from the place near the TV station where Misa killed the cops. She foolishly left the binoculars on the table and everything.
So L must have known about Misa's...relationship with Light from the beginning. Which means L still had spies watching Light, or at least his house! His suspicion of Light was never 2% or 5%, he always thought Light to be Kira and everything he's done lately was to get the proof.
And now Misa must be saved. She won't be released soon even if there is no evidence against her. Light must deceive L into thinking the second Kira is someone else or that Kira controlled her into doing it.
But..."Goodbye, Ryuk." WHAT IS THAT! WHAT IS HE THINKING! Damn this anime is intense, it'd always be a cliffhanger no matter where they ended the episodes.

I will hate the manga writer if Misa dies like this, just horrible, one of the worst things I've seen.She just seemed too innocent to be treated like that. and it better be resolved soon because that sucks. Not to mention shes been like that for days, since L mentioned of water deprivation.

Yet again i'm amazed with yet another episode of Death Note. I love the manga to pieces, and the anime is doing such a good job at being a perfect adaptation of the story.

Misa's tear & Rem wiping it away being added (meaning that scene wasn't in the manga) was a wonderful touch to an already powerful scene between the two. I was moved to tears myself after Misa mentioning about not to kill Light.. so this added scene works perfectly with the already level of emotion the viewers are feeling at the time - seriously, it was a perfectly added scene. Also, it has L seeing the hair move, there's something else for him to think about.

Amazing argument and an unexpected construction of events.

A masterpiece. L never rushes to jump into conclusions at first sign of evidence. He works up his suspicions and theory to reach the 100% of proven validity.

Amazing he manipulated the small amount of evidence he picked up from the tapes and occurences at Amano to lure out Light to what he (L) wanted him (Light) to do.

Like Jaden posted, L's hunch on Light being Kira boosted above the 4-5% that he made everyone to believe.

This is because in the previous episode and this one Ryuk pesters Light about what L said that he esteemed Light as his first friend ever.

L plays with words, which have double-meaning. He did not meant to acknowledge Light as his equal match when he said friend, as I presumed. He meant that his suspicions about Light being Kira boosted upwards to let's say a 70%, but Light ultimately failed to realize that L's suspicions on him dramatically increased.
This is because L found out that Light met Misa but kept that information to himself as not leave himself exposed. He tested Light with the "friends" deal to throw him out in confusion.

Remember that L ordered to had Light tailed and followed due to the latter's interest to visit the Amano place, which was written as one of the two meeting points where Kira and Kira 2nd will make contact.

That same person tailed Light from that point onwards and found about Misa, who she visit the Yagami house for the first time to meet for the first time ever Light.

That agent made contact to L. Of course, L has his suspicions particularly given that the agent informed him that Misa stayed in the Yagami home until late hours.

L did his homework research on Misa while everyone else was sleeping and checked her profile record as a celebrity.
He started to notice out the pieces of evidence that were found on the tapes that Kira 2nd sent to the TV stations and lastly to the investigation team, which L found the strands of hair.

The point is that L upon learning that a foreign woman who was a celebrity model visited the Yagami home at night, ringed odd bells on him to make him immediately suspect Misa as Kira 2nd, thus dramatically increasing Light's suspicions on being Kira as well; explains L's certainty in the previous episode that both Kira had made contact once viewing the tapes. But the way he concluded at it seemed that he already knew it beforehand and was no news to him. That's because he already had his suspicions confirmed and now was the time to start setting up the bait and the trap to work up his suspicion percentage proven true to the 100%.

To me the climax of the episode happened with L's perverted grinning once Misa arrived to the Uni, saluted Light, and both she and L met. But this happened because L studied scrupulously Misa's reaction on her face when he revealed his name as "Ryuuga". Misa hesitated for a moment, but L knew better that she was getting an odd reaction from hearing his name.
Misa gave herself too easily, and that allowed L to realize the expression on Misa's face; she had found out his real name through her Shinigami eyes, the name he never reveals to anyone, and she knew well.

From that point it became a double-edged situation for Light, because he had to act on instinct to prevent the cover from being blown-up. By doing so, however, he took the bait of L's trap to confirm up to a 90% that Misa was the 2nd Kira.

I was impressed on how they could managed to insert a piece of funny comedy on L's perverted face to a climactic, tense, and haphazard moment. It served as a juxtaposition to L's character. He lets himself vulnerable in the open to get closer to his enemies, but at the same time makes fool of himself so as to prevent his enemies from taking seriously in critical moments.

The perverted face on L served a double-meaning. On one hand to distract unsuspecting viewers initially that L admits to himself he's a hopeless loser for not attracting girls. On the other hand, the face behind the public image meant "Busted", and Light fell into the trap.

After that climax, the resolution quite came fitting into its place, until Light has an epiphany meaning that there's another card to be played and L has not won the game at all when even the tide turned against Light with L having pawned him.

It also amazes me as well L's dexterity and reflexes to steal Misa's phone from her sight, and instantly reacting on instinct to come up with a convincing reply to Misa's reaction.

I do agree with Garten that L's security measures were just too over the top.

Spoiler:

He could simply had ordered Misa handcuffed and blindfolded, sitting on a chair. Or confine her into those solitary, interrogation rooms where there's a black panel window. With those mirrors the culprit cannot see the investigators through the other side, but the investigators can see the culprit from their side.

I do not think that Shinigami eyes on humans are able to see through solid walls or material of covered glass from those windows.

How ruthless of L.

What I think of Rem's exchange with Misa.

It was an emotionally appealing scene, because Misa's suffering earned my sympathy.

She was willing to take the risk and punishment for the love of Light, but at the same time it was too traumatic for her to endure that hell she was going through, knowing she would not last longer before giving herself in and admit that she is the 2nd Kira.
Instead of betraying Light and ending her torment, Misa acknowledges the easy way out is for Rem to kill her. After all, she made clear to Light she does not mind to be used as a tool. She only wants Light's love through him praising her that she's useful one way or another, and being shackled-up in a strait-jacket, kept on the dark with nothing to see in grip of deep fear is a situation that well awards to beg Rem to kill her.

In that particular scene, Rem tended to Misa as a caring mother, and in fact, her voice changed warmth and tender to Misa.

It just surprises me that no one noticed a coincidental similarity to Misa's predicament in comparison to another character that has been through the same thing quite or less.

Holy *&^$!! This is a amazing episode. The twists had me in. And Goodbye Ryuk? That last line made me wondering, maybe Light will use Rem instead?

Tell me what they said in the preview!! ..not asking for spoilers, just a translation to what Raito said Also rated 10/10, aww I love Misa so much, it was so sad when she started to tell them to kill her T^T *sniiiiiiiiff* I like Ryuk better then Rem though, hope that bye Raito said isnt really THE goodbye of him and Ryuk OH and gotta love L dancing around Misa, very funny c-a-n-t-w-a-i-t-t-i-l-l-e-p-1-6-!!!
