I wonder if they are going to bail him out. Either way, it's great for Hayate! He can now wear his butler uniform again.

I can see it now, a manga about a girl who is cool and dresses like a butler.

Speculation right now: Luca finds out about Hayate on the 12th (flash forward date) and Nagi wins the bet vs the other Mazumi Labatory (the challenge date is the 12th) because Luca buys all of her manga, hence her being mad. No clue though, as she is running away from the convention below to the top of the building.

EDIT: also, Ikusa is probably in the picture of 28 unless there are more people with black hair (surprisingly rare in the manga).

Endless freetalks of shoujo mangaka have told me that drawing hair without any tone or or inking needed is the quickest, least rage inducing way to do it. Therefore it makes perfect sense.

Because like everyone else in Hayate's harem, there was a time when Hayate's smooth-talking was directed at her. That's exactly what just happened to Luca.

Unless Hayate directly states that he has someone he loves and is officially a couple with the girl he loves, then none of of the girls will ever leave his harem. At most they'll get angry out of jealously, which Nagi and Hina do often.

This is true, but I think I'd like to see a harem story that actually rotated out old love interests for a change instead of stringing them all along until the end. Of course, I understand perfectly well why that never happens. (I suppose the World God Only Knows does this in a way, but it's a bit different then what I'm thinking about.)

I don't really get what Hata is doing with Hina these days, though. I realize he needs someone to play the jealousy role whenever a new girl shows up and Nagi doesn't usually fit. (Nagi mostly gets jealous over misunderstandings because she's not supposed to know certain things.) It's just seems like her relationship with Hayate has drifted into a weird place from sheer inertia more then design.

That said, next week chapter looks amusing enough.

To be honest, I'd almost rather we get started on the next 10 filler chapters right away so we can finally catch up to the flashforward. We all know nothing is going to happen before then anyway.

Okay, some highlights:

Spoiler:

- Hina wonders why she feels girl clothes suit Hayate.
- It seems Alice is using Hina to refer to Hinagiku now.
- Hina is angry at Hayate, but he tells her there were some complicated circumstances.
- Hina asks him what those circumstances are, and at first Hayate says it's hard to explain, but ends up saying he had a guilty conscience due to some things he had done to that girl (Luca), sexually related. Hina hit him and ran away.
- Hina keeps wondering about that issue while in bath, thinking that perhaps Hayate got dragged into another misfortune situation. Then Luca shows up, Hina asks her about the girl from the previous night. Chiharu tells her she wanted to keep her a secret from the people in the house, because she has some complicated circumstances, but then tells Hina that girl is a very popular idol, which gets Hina rather angry, since she thinks that may be the reason Hayate did "those things" to her. In the end, Chiharu decided to lend a Luca DVD to Hina, and asks her to watch it. Hina agreed.
- Later, Hina is watching the DVD in the student council office and she remembers Chiharu telling her Luca has many complicated family problems. Anyway, at first Hina started watching the DVD completely uninterested, but little by little she began getting excited to the point she seemed to love Luca's performance.
- After that, Hina was thinking about this whole thing and realises Luca couln't have become that good of a singer and a dancer in just one day, and that Hayate was actually trying to help Luca with something.
- Hayate is seen with a complicated face thinking how should he explain this situation, and thinks that lying may bring more problems at this point. However, at this point, Hina shows up and tells him he's got himself in another complicated situation, and that if she can, she wants to help him.
- Then Hayate asks Hina if she can make him a favour. Hina asks what, and he tells her next time he cross-dresses, he'd like her to lend him her clothes, because his chest is flat. Then hina got angry and him him really hard.

I think I'm done with Hayate no Gotoku for the next couple of months. I'm only interested in the Alice angle anyway, and I don't think that's going to progress for a while. I'll come back around Christmas. Hopefully things will have moved forward by then.
