What? Should I have said "it is no canon for neither the novels, the manga nor the anime? It is really necessery? Or you are suggesting that Haruhi-chan is canon for any of these?

What is INB4, btw?

"In before..."

And I think he was saying that there are still people who don't know what the term "canon" itself means, with them thinking people are misspelling and horribly misusing the word cannon, etc. And then instead of googling it or using urban dictionary, they just ask the forum and hope someone will explain it to them instead.

Haruhi-chan was pretty bad until they switched to proper 2D animation. Then it suddenly became both hilarious and awesome.

I want a second season too...

The jokes were alright even pre-2D, but they got a lot funnier after it - probably because the execution seemed, well, smoother.

No, no, your post was correct, I was just snarking on the fact that people have to have canon explained over and over again. I don't know why it's such a hard concept to understand...

Apparently you missed the fact that I also referred to Kanon and a cannon.

And I did miss one: Pachelbel's Canon.

*e* Come to think of it, I probably could've thrown in the Kanon from Umineko, as well...

Those are fine, as they're pronounced the same way. You've got one weird accent if "Ganon" is as well... ^_^

Technically speaking, Kanon is pronounced differently than cannon. Kanon is "kahn-own," while cannon is typically "can-uhn."

Eh, I don't really understand what you mean, but I think you are wrong about Kanon. I don't know how to put it in english, but "kanon" in hiragana is かのん, so I belive the separation of the syllabes would be more like ka-non (errr, kah-nown?) then kan-on(kahn-own?).

To return to the theme of spin-offs ... Has a Haruhi-chan manga actually been drawn and sold?

Isn't that the whole basis that KyoAni used for the Haruhi-chan shorts?

I dunno. I just found out about the Haruhi-chan anime one day and liked it.

Yes, in Japan. I think volume four is due to be released later this month.

As Joe said, the anime was based of in the manga. It is by the same guy who is doing Yuki-chan.

Finally got around to reading Yuki-chan 6. From the way it ended, 7 seems like it'll have more than just "look at this cuteness," but of course no one's going to mention that, as it would get in the way of their complaining about something they don't like but are still reading anyway.

Look at the cuteness of niceguy!Kyon saving the day by joining the Literary Club when adorably blushing and shy Nagato Yuki-chan makes moe googly eyes at him?

I mean, yeah, I'm hoping for something a little more substantial, but the setup for chapter 7 doesn't necessarily guarantee that we'll get anything other than the beginning of the Kyon*Yuki-chan romance.
