A Red haired catgirl with purple eyes and those delicious thighs to go with everything else? Yeah, that combination is super dangerous! *wipes noseblood* On a serious note, I want a second season. lol I'm pretty sure the BD, music, and merchandise have been selling well enough for another round of LL. There's so much they haven't even touched upon yet. I want them to meet ARISE and the other idols too. Let's go Sunrise! You know what to do.

I really don't like watching this kind of episode.
Muse will recover for sure, but I'm not so sure about Kotori. I find it very unfortunate if she really leaves (and I just taken a liking to her too).

Apparently, Muse ranked 10th before they pulled out of LL.
That's impressive! If they kept going, they would probably hit Top 5 easily. This episode is probably the only one that I'll only watch a few times since it's kinda heavy.

Just when my waifu has recovered.. another shocker has to be sent to her... I don't blame Kotori for keeping it after their dance to avoid jeopardizing the show just in case my waifu becomes emotional with it... yeah.. she did became emotional....
I just hope she'll make it... I promise.. we'll discuss it in our house... I'll cheer her up.. *Bleh |

Don't know if it's worth a spoiler tag, my impression on the episode:
Well that was heart wrenching. You can fully tell after the big bombshell that Umi announced about Kotori's sudden transfer that Honoka's heart just got crushed into million of pieces. Out of the Love Live competition, the school has been saved, and one of her best friend's sudden transfer, no surprise Honoka gave up being an school idol. Hopefully Umi can fix up this friendship, or hopefully Honoka will be like Haruka and learn why she wanted to be an idol in the first place. URGGH!!! Now I have to wait another week!!!! Also my BD vol.1 should be arriving soon. Can't wait to pop it in my BD player to watch the first episode again.

Looks like Honoka finally started to think but eventually went overboard... she needs to get her bright side back while try and keep level headed head.
Go Umi, bring her back! You are the only one who can do it! And maybe Kotori if she finally mans up just a bit and has a proper talk with Honoka. I honestly hope that Kotori does leave. while it would be nice for her to stay, it simply will be too happy and predictable. I don't mind her changing mind half way through her studies but not now. Besides if they are to make season 2, Kotori's surprise return could be a nice episode. Also was a bit surprised that Maki was the one to jump and stop Nico from attacking. I guess that will boost their ship popularity

God dang with episode 12 I can't tell anymore. If this is going to end at episode 13, or continue on into a second season like most idol shows. Someone help me, I can't take these feelings after watching that!

The drama was very heavy in this penultimate episode. I didn't think the news of Kotori leaving would hit Honoka so hard but it's understandable. She's lost a friend and her main drive (saving the school). She needs some time to reflect on what she truly wants to do. I'm sure she'll realize being an idol was far more than a means to an end for her.
I am hoping Kotori will truly leave. It would cheapen everything if she changed her mind at the last minute and decided to stay. I'm aware it's highly likely that will happen though...

Well, it can go three ways at this point. It can end at episode 13 and have an "all well that ends well" ending with a last performance. Or Kotori can decide to rejoin, and the group can go into season 2 since the opening did show them in Love Live. Or it can just be Kotori stays in the group and all well that ends well.
Honestly, the opening is making me think optimistically about this.

It's the whole Sayaka debate again. I feel like the detractors are forgetting that Honoka is just not a cliché shining fearless leader, but most of all a girl who values her friends more than anyone else. Put yourself in her shoes. She lost the reason to fight on since they saved the school. She's still feeling guilty for being the one that made them drop out of LL. The confusion from that bombshell is vital to her decision making. Most importantly, she doesn't want to have that "final" live. To her, it would mean that Kotori would be gone for good after that. The denial stage is common when it comes to receiving bad news, especially one that we happen within 2 weeks. Yes she's throwing a tantrum, but that makes her more human. If she just smiles and say "yep let's farewell Kotori together" without actually 'reconcile' first, she will just be playing a stereotype, and it will do tones of harm to her, both as a person and as a character.

It's always a plus when we get something we never expected. This show continues to show sparks of uniqueness.
I don't blame Honoka. She let her enthusiasm run away with her, and when she realizes how she screwed up, it's hard to take. Even harder when a close friend leaves, and doesn't tell her. She is shattered. But Umi does the right thing in drawing her attention back from herself to her responsibility to others. I expect that they will eventually have that one last performance, but that the one last performance will turn into the first performance of their true career. The title of the next episode is "μ’s Music Start." So I think it will. As for Kotori, I just don't know. I'd hate for her to miss out on going to the perfect school for her future career. And being an idol doesn't last that long. In any case, I don't think there is any way this is the last Love Live series. Another season in the fall or spring, for sure, it seems to me. This show is quite popular on 2channel, so otaku will buy.

Honoka is a certain type of person. She may not have been that person in Episode 1, but she's that type of person now.
She's the sort of person that takes the weight of the world on her shoulders, and takes full responsibility for everything she's involved in. Because of that, she's susceptible to massive emotional highs (last episode) and massive emotional lows (this episode). She's gone from feeling like a beloved hero to feeling like a complete failure. The positive with a person like Honoka is that you can always count on her to do her best at anything she puts her mind to. And that makes her a good leader in many respects, as she will inspire others just by how she carries herself. But the negative with a person like Honoka is that she can get too carried away with her own goals and self-esteem, and lose sight of the emotional needs of those around her. She's too quick to entirely blame herself rather than to accept the reasonable sharing of blame. There's an analogy I made after last episode that was largely in jest, but I'm using it again because I'm honestly amazed at how well it works. Honoka is to Muse what Superman is to the Justice League. Superman leads by inspirational example, and a few choice words. He doesn't have to be the official leader, everybody can tell by his sheer presence in the room that he is the leader. When the Justice League fails, Superman will always blame himself first. Superman can get too down on himself at times, and fail to see how that's affecting the rest of the Justice League. Honoka is likewise being too hard on herself, carrying too much of the burden. In doing so, she's become so focused on "self" that she's lost sight of what the team needs. It reminds me of the Justice League episode where Superman was about to disband the Justice League. Thankfully Umi slapped some sense into Honoka here just like Green Arrow talked some sense into Superman there. By the way, Eri is to Muse what Batman is to the Justice League. But I won't get into that since I don't want to completely bore non-comic book fans with my analogies here. I have to say that I'm pretty amazed at where this anime has gone. I never expected to have an episode loaded with this many "negative" emotions. Love Live! has had dramatic undercurrents since the very first episode, but it was a mix of uplifting drama with lighthearted charm. So it's pretty surprising how this episode had intense, slightly dark, drama. I have to really tip my hat to the writers. They have done more with the School Idol concept than I ever imagined possible. And they have crafted a very emotionally engaging and compelling narrative with loads of great twists and turns - And this latest one with Honoka's change in character is truly startling to me. I never thought that girl could get this serious in a somber way. My hope for the finale is that we get one last Muse concert to send off Kotori with a bang... but that Kotori actually does get sent off. I agree with Kanon. It would be really cheap otherwise. Please, Love Live!, after the impressive boldness of this episode, don't turn back now!
