I'm surprised this show show could actually make me feel sorry for Yoko but it did. It's always impressed me how the mangaka has no qualms with downer endings and actually has a knack for writing them well.
Spoiler for another work from the same mangaka:
Which is weird considering how trashy the rest of his writing is. XP Here's hoping for a Season 2.

(The Killing Bites manga tankoubons keep advertising another work by this writer, Himenospia, which looks preeeetty damn messed up. Trashy, but intriguingly messed up. ) |

Spoiler:
So seems they get close but i don't know more details and how they ended up together, probably both want revenge, just read a bit of synopsis on the later chapters since the anime cover till chapter 30 and the manga is already at chapter 49, while english scans are at chapter 25. Anyway was a very faithful adaption, they animate every scene from the manga in the correct order and without any cut, the animation and art was also quality and very smooth, kudos on the animation studio and the director. There is not enought material for a second season so if the bds sell well maybe the next year or two we can have it or some oav. 9/10 overall not so much for the story per se but for the adaption quality. That last episode had a record level of "holy crap" moments . The chameleon assassins really were the most minor points in all this. The top of that whole system got overturned. I did want to see Youko thrown off with how messed up she herself was. But I wasn't going that far...She was already screwed up and what's likely gone on for her for the past few years isn't likely to make things even better. Even when Leo gets taken down she may not be in the best of shape mentally.
Also kind of threw me off with Nomoto too. Talk about throwing off that scene...There's no doubt that Hitomi at that point had gained an attachment to him. But she's still obviously at the point where she'll kill anyone that Shidou tells her to. I did wonder for a moment if he would just straight up die and they'd transition to a new protagonist. But it appears that somehow he survived and got necessary medical attention. On the positive side it appears nearly dying has lead to a solid shift in his character . If this was was continuing into the next season this would have made for an interesting launch point. But that's the end of the show for now. It was definitely more interesting than I expected going in.

Such thing as being cool animal, having experience or allies doesn't matter. One with sharpest fangs wins. Thus killing bites.
So yes I don't think Nomoto will be cool or powerful. For so I care he could be as well Duck hybrid.
