Need to drill into them that the pin doesn't matter....as long as you hold the lever down you can hold the grenade forever. I remember for mine I had to relax my grip on the lever lest my hand became numb...

The pin actually does matter for a stun grenade (or what Americans call flashbangs). A stun grenade has a 3s fuse, 2s less than a frag grenade. And it is a stick full of magnesium that can melt your hand; which means if you don't grip the thing tightly enough you can say hi to a plastic surgeon when it goes off - a trooper once had one go off in his hand and despite wearing fireproof tactical gloves, he had serious burns that required him to be sent to the hospital.

Stun grenades are usually thrown with a underhand so it does not fly too far, plus it will explode in midair and blind everyone in the room, so it is just as dangerous. I would rather hold any grenade tightly and gently take out its pin rather than trying to get it out of my hand ASAP because lethal or not, its effects are always unpleasant.

Singaporeans must save $5,033 a month for 'comfy retirement'

That's a whopping 66% of their yearly wage.

According to HSBC's latest study Future of Retirement: A New Reality, in order to live comfortably during retirement, people in Singapore indicate that they will require 66% (or two-thirds) of their current annual household income which works out to be S$60,400 or S$5,033 per month.

This is 68% more than in the last 2011 study where the figure was S$3,000. Singapore’s income replacement ratio, together with Australia (also 66%), is the lowest across 15 countries surveyed where the global average is 78%.

Cash remains a big part of Singaporeans’ wealth portfolio. On what makes up retirement income, the study found that the largest proportion will come from cash savings and deposits which constitutes a third (34%) of retirement income here, followed by investments (19%), and property income and assets (12%).

This reliance on cash to fund one’s retirement income is reinforced by another finding where over two-thirds (69%) of Singapore respondents expect cash savings and deposits to contribute towards their retirement income, followed by life insurance (54%), stocks and shares (37%), and income generated from property (36%).

Dunno how it is for flashbangs but with frag-grenades the pin isn't all that tight anyway. As long as your one hand is depressing the lever, a gentle twist and pull will remove the pin.

You really do not want to squeeze a frag until your hands are white and numb that when you throw it just drops a few feet in front of you

You really have to hold the stun grenade properly because of its stick shape; which can easily slip from your hands.

Although non-lethal, the bang is really loud enough to make the naked ear bleed.
