Mirage's line about the planet Alfheim that Messer is from should read like this:

"Two years ago, Marienburg, a city from the planet Alfheim, was wiped out because of a Var outbreak. I heard that you're a survivor from that outbreak..."

Well, unlike rock bands, in the idol world, the leader is not necessarily the best singer (ace as Kaname calls it) or the most popular. Kaname's job as the leader of the Walkure seems to be handling liaison with the Delta squadron and probably all the daily management stuff like the audition. Mikumo is awesome but she's certainly the lone wolf type as evidenced during the Voldor mission.

If this was Idolmaster, Kaname would be like Ritsuko and Kotori rolled into one
