There is a chance that it's a special with a limited theatrical release like the Yamato 2200s and Digimon Trimovies, they tend to have much shorter time between theatrical release and blu-ray release.

I wonder, why they changed the studio this time. Though the previous one was sold to Graphinica and changed the name back, it is still alive.

I find the lack of Ai-chan in that trailer disappointing. Hopefully it just means they are saving the best for last

I like the new character design a lot more than the one for Avvenire, which I always had a problem with. Feels like the characters have never looked better. I'm happy to hear the movie will focus on Athena and Alice.

"Twilight" following up the "future" is kind of foreboding though... not that I think anything bad will happen

The title is Aria the Crepusculo (Twilight)

Shochiku producer Toshio Iizuka announced on Tuesday that the brand-new Aria work will cast Rina Satou (Maria Watches Over Us' Tsutako Takeshima, Negima!'s Negi Springfield, A Certain Scientific Railgun's Mikoto Misaka) as the character Athena Glory. Satou replaces the late Tomoko Kawakami from previous anime adaptations of Kozue Amano's Aria manga.

Iizuka added that Satou was cast on the recommendations of director Junichi Sato and original creator Kozue Amano, to portray a new drama between Athena, Alice, and the other characters. Iizuka assured fans that Kawakami remains "part of the Aria family," even as Satou joins the family. Kawakami was still credited for a "special performance" of Athena Glory in Aria the Avvenire in 2015, four years after Kawakami passed away in 2011.

When I saw the title, I was not sure if this is about Aria with boats or Aria with ammos. It turns out it is about the former. It is a relaxing anime. Last I heard about the news, someone mentioned that the real life cat "Aria Pokoteng" passed away, and the mangaka got depressed for awhile.

TBH, I prefer the old character designs.. Although it's not really important right now..

I wouldn't put much hopes up on this being available overseas easily before the BluRay is out. Though the publisher does have an english page for it for whatever that means.

The designs are the closest they've ever been to Amano's art. Alicia and Akira (or is it really Akari you mean?) look weird because of the make-up.

The trailer really gives off the movie budget vibe.

At minimum, a six to seven month wait, but realistically, closer to eleven if previous trends were anything to go by.
