Mayoi's arc is about Senjougahara seeing the true nature of Araragi's "helpful" personality, plus the obvious confession and its aftermath. We also get a scene about them promising not to hide things from each other.

Suruga's arc is about the aftermath of that promise, and how it conflicts with Araragi's ideals. He has to realize that suddenly he's important to someone, and that not getting anyone else involved isn't the best way to make everyone happy. It's also about them both wanting to help each other, but not really being sure how to (Senjougahara wants to help him study/get his life in order, Araragi wants to help her get her friend back).

Nadeko's arc is about Senjougahara being pushed into the background. The whole theme was "choose who you want to save" with the analogy being that he can't spend so much time hanging around other girls if he expects to be Senjougahara's boyfriend. You can't be friendly with everyone equally, at some point you have to stop and think about what's most important to you.

Hanekawa's arc is about... well we haven't seen it yet. I don't doubt the events of episode 12 help set it up though.

And yes, there's more to the arcs than that, most obviously the particular issues that the girls had, but in terms what they all mean to Araragi it's pretty obvious what the overall theme is. People sometimes indulge in what I think of as "eroge thinking" in that they separate the story into "routes" that they treat as almost causally isolated from each other. This is simply not the case in most series, and especially not this one. Araragi is the main character for a reason, and no it's not simply to be an audience surrogate. This is his story, and focusing on each arc as an entirely separate thing misses that.
See that's the thing, I don't see the how the stories are set up to develop their relationship. I mean the only thing that is clear is that the story is mainly about Araragi and ONLY HIM. I mean come on, I think you are reaching too far and saying that EVEN Nadeko Snake is about their relationship too. If you have read Kizu then you will know that the whole series really is more about how Araragi saves everyone without caring for himself and not about developing a bond with Senjougahara. Fine, I'll admit that Mayoi Snail and Suruga Monkey helped develop them but that is only because she was the first arc character and story-structure-wise she had to appear.

Seems that they try to tell us why it's still not online and apologize for it. Last update was two hours ago and they mention that it'll be online at around 8am at the earliest (please correct me if I'm wrong).

You can find the episode here as soon as it is posted.

You know I just realized, with fans all over the world rushing to the site to watch the episode, wouldn't the site overcrowd and either cause it to shut down or the frame rate of the video to go incredibily slow?

The runup seems to be a trainwreck.

2nd November, 1957 hours: Arrived at editing room.

2000: Commence high-speed sorting of clips coming in from SHAFT.

2200: Finally connected to the server to update. The hit count of the day is over 500,000. Editing still in progress. Hanekawa has big boobs.

2220: Editing complete, contacting SHAFT.

0130 (3rd Nov): Staff preview with 4 SHAFT staff, 2 editors and 2 Aniplex staff. They also seem to be having some server issues.

0220: The following tasks still has to be done.
1. Transfer to tape
2. Return to office
3. Get working
4. Encode
5. Test-upload and perform checks.

Earliest possible time of release = 0800.

"The final product is as good as the amount of time you've spent waiting."

0530: The staff has returned to the office to start work and encode.

These guys have had no sleep tonight.

Not all is lost for you. Even if they died off, you'll have uncensored Cecily to look forward to in a few months.

Is SHAFT busy this autumn season? I'm surprised the staff didn't get the clips until 2000.

Shaft and time management don't seem to go well together.

Hopefully the episode is really well done. (new OP and maybe a new ED?)

Are you saying that SHAFT is saying that the episode is delayed until NOV 3? Shit. It was suppose to air on 10/28. They had four weeks to work on it. It gets delayed 4 more days and here is NOV 2, the scheduled day, and nothing yet.

Wow, everyone always says that SHAFT is really bad at managing their time. They are right. It is odd to see such unprofessional behavior from a large business.

SHAFT,

I really love your show. I am glad that your DVD/BluRay sales are through the roof. Please use a little bit of your profit to hire extra staff.

Love,

Fisheric

Well, according to X10A_Freedom's post, that's the "earliest possible time of release," so I suppose some last minute delays were to be expected. Unfortunately we don't have a "latest possible time of release"...

Well the encode was around 40% at about 7:30 and the time to completion kept increasing...I'm just glad I know what happens even though I'm still looking forward to the episode.

Seems that the encode is slower than expected (). It was around 40% done at 07:30

But I'm using google trans so I'm not really sure...

This is the last update...

They only finish 40% of encoding the material.
SHAFT !!!! Hopefully, the episode is as great as our patience to wait for the delay...

I think that's more the issue with the speed of the computer that's doing the encoding (I can't imagine the process involves doing anything manually). No matter how much you try, the machine just isn't going to go any faster... :\
