Sadly, there seems to be even less viewership for Giant Killing compared to Cross Game...maybe it's because baseball is more popular for US audiences compared to football? I couldn't get into Giant Killing. I'm a big fan of football/soccer and love the tactical aspect too. But the show tried too hard to make the coach look a genius, whereas I felt the coach was just above average, the problem being everyone around him were idiots.

I gave the show a shot, liking football and all, but I couldn't stick to it.

I'm a big fan of soccer and follow it basically any days, so i think that GK was a good anime that pursue the life of a soccer coach, for who love soccer surely is a must for me
So i put it on the sport genres too (only for this), otherwise I would put Major, the best series/manga of baseball of ever for me

Who said you have to do it manually. Just like the staff here, you seem think every problem is solved by ignoring the alternatives, and thus your point of view is right by consequence. However I'd say because of the obvious inconvenience for one thing, and the fact (check for yourself) people are editing their posts normally regardless of how you are doing it, the system is WRONG.

I've made a little ruby script to automatically gather votes. For the record 90% of code is just handling for the lousy ad hoc template we're using (to plain english: about everyone writes it differently); if the template would have been more strict the code could be so much more simpler, but alas it was not made to be scraped. Similarly, accuracy can't be guaranteed (read: it's not usable, in it's current state). However it's good enough as proof this system both pointless as well as stupid work; and good enough for a "partially tally" for funsies.

Right now that's my worry about Cross Game - clearly, it's getting by far the most overall votes and it's going to be nominated in many categories. There we go. Spent a good while thinking on the list. Overall, it wasn't an year I was throughoutly impressed by, but a few series were very nice. My choices are a nice reflection of this, seeing as in the end all the nominations ended up being taken by a small group of shows.
