Bryke Create "Avatar Studios"
https://www.vulture.com/2021/02/nick...-of-korra.html
So having ditched the Netflix live-action over creative differences, Bryke are now forming an AtLA-dedicated studio under the Paramount-Nick umbrella. First project is going to be a theatrical film and "additional series" are promised. I think the key for this to work is to stick as closely as possible to the themes of the first series (as opposed to Korra), which is clearly what's resonated the most with fans. Up to and including reuniting with that cast.

Korra is decent, if a shadow of AtLA IMHO, but it's the original series that makes the franchise live on. The performance on Netflix was really astonishing for an older property. That's what people want to see more of, clearly.

I'm personally convinced that this is 100% a nostalgia-milking.
The only good news is that the creators are proving not to be sell-outs, as proven by walking away from Netflix. Honestly, I think my biggest issue is simply that Avatar turned into a case of sequel-itis: The original was fantastic, and LoK... while not bad, perhaps... can't hold a candle to it.

I do want them to do stuff like adapt the comics or even more original stuff but I also hope that they can make it thematically distinct from the original, even as it borrows for it.
