I have trouble believing the author really finds the arc boring when he continues to drag out battles. Unless it's just so boring that he doesn't even know how to continue the story at this point, but if that's the case he needs to just wrap it up immediately and put out some random slice of life chapters or something until he figures out how to proceed.

^ Its proboly a mixture of wondering how to proceed and his editor saying to prolong the arc & battles. That is if he truly believes this arc is boring or that it became boring/ went in the wrong direction.

Do u think we r gonna have a flashback chapter and then the chapter after that would announce the result?

I won't forgive Tsukuda if he pulls that

Author: I knew this arc is kinda...boring...so I am going to drag it further...with flashback within flashback.

Editor: Good job!

If he really pulling that in the next chapter, I will salute him for being a troll.

Who is the bigger troll, then? Kubo Tite or Tsukuda?

But man, I really hope the fight ends next chapter or so and that Souma wins it. I'd hate it for him to just lose to Hayama again.

I think is the first time in a shokugeki there's a split, I'm more surprise since the girls didn't have a fanservice mode with hayama sauce.

I've definitely learned more about bear meat than I've ever need to know.

And lol at the "Bestowing." The foodgasms haven't been particularly noteworthy in quite awhile, but this was great.

pretty sure he is knowing about the current arc being boring, Shokugeki drop down the bottom line with Isobee is more than enough of proof in the author face, If he still didn't realized it then there is some serious problem going on. and the dragging out tactics was actually common among mangaka when they are trying to buy time to plan out the next few arcs and storyline.

This time, too, there was a good reason. Bears in that area just love honey, so that's why he incorporated it here. But shouldn't Hayama also know about this? Maybe he doesn't, since he didn't talk to the hunter that Souma talked to.

Hayama is too confident in his God's Nose and Spices i guess. But that infodump about Nakiri family stripping was weird and entertaining tbh........

Nakiri bloodline is something all right................just think what is happen if Erina and Alice get bestowed together.

It's not the hardest thing to imagine, someone should have written about it in bear cooking 101...but whatever. After everything's been accounted for, I think I'd still give Hayama the victory vote; Souma using bear paws is kinda out of character, reminiscent of when Ikumi had used her very best meat against him (at least this chapter says the paws are rather sought after, contradicting Souma's everyday restaurant cuisine path).

What's your final vote on this match, guys?

I just finished the last chapter. It was actually pretty good, but that cliffhanger again... like really? It starts to be a bit annoying. I really love Shokugeki no Soma, but this Hayama x Yukihira fight just takes too long.

Hayama got too cocky for his own good thinking he could just rely on his uber nose instead of actually researching the meat.

Soma actually did field work with hunters that have experience, something you can't replicate.

He didn't use bear paws (solely). The blurb was about how bear paws are often sought out because people thought they were soaked with honey. It was meant to illustrate the effects of honey on bear meat.

It's mincemeat katsu so Souma used all sorts of different parts of the bear meat.

I'm thinking Souma's sauce has one more secret based on the "bestow" idea. I think it'll be able to improve even Hayama's dish which will be the deciding factor for Souma's win (Hayama's dish can be improved but Souma's is the absolute limit).

Hayama's sauce was tasted first. Of course he would lose.

Well I go with the meat over the sauce. Ie if I had to chose between Great Meat and Good Sauce or Good Meat and Great Sauce. I don't have to use the Sauce to eat the meat whereas I am not eating the sauce alone.
