Looks like curry boy lost the plot from the beginning of this whole match.

This is the first time I actually prefer to see other character's match over this long and boring one...

Obviously pacing has been a real problem for this manga for a long time now. The author's in love with his cliffhangers and "wait a minute I still have this secret to my dish". With that said I like the angle taken in Hayama vs Souma where from a neutral perspective it seems that Hayama is fighting for someone while Souma's fighting for survivals sake but it wraps back around to Hayama being selfish and Souma actually looking out for Hayama. It's a more interesting rival dynamic than most Shounen's and it's also interesting to lose that last time Souma lost due to subjectivity (some bullshit about Hayama's dish being more specialized or w/e) and this time Hayama is probably going to lose because of subjectivity (let's be real all this talk about tenacity/passion is just another way to say that Souma isn't better and he only won due to a subjective criteria). It seems to be setting up for another showdown between the two in the future to decide who truly is the better cook.

Also it's funny to think about but this is probably the most romantic thing Souma has said all series. His interactions with Megumi and Erina aren't nearly suggestive as this and this in fact if it was Erina/Megumi/another girl he said this too you'd assume that it was a romantic confession. It's hilarious and somewhat ironic that the dish Souma worked so hard for is for Hayama of all people.

Okay, this fight can be even longer It was a good chapter and that Amur cork honey is a nice choice.
I hope that the next chapter will finally be a end to this fight

pretty sure it's the end next chapter, people have been complain about this arc all over the places. And i'm quite sure that Hayama's popularity are gonna plummet in the next popularity polls.
