^Personally I'm more interested in the next Macross installment for 2012 mainly because by that time the real world has caught up with the Macross timeline, and if the Mayans/Aztecs/etc are right, we will also be due for a world-changing event.

Oh don't be too pessimistic!

I prefer we encounter something deculture like maybe a kilometer-long alien gunship from a race of giants crashing on an island in the South Pacific... oh wait, I better be not on earth after that thing gets rebuilt and then fires its cannon on an alien fleet.

Well, if an alien spaceship crashes on an island names "Macross", I´m moving there, even if it is to sweep streets.

Is the song "Watashi no Kare wa Pilot" (or "My Boyfriend is a Pilot") only a minute long or is there a longer, "full" version?

i think there is a longer version, but i think they mainly used the short version

The longest version I know just repeats with the guitar adlib as bridge. They used Megumi/Ranka's version BTW.

Then again, there's that fan remix using the original.

Um, sorry to burst bubbles here, but as any oldschool Macross fan can tell you, the Macross crashlanded on South Ataria Island* nine years ago in 1999:

Honestly speaking, if ASS 1 crashed into South Pacific Island like Macross story, I will be pissed. All my life has been geared for normal life then suddenly this cool stuff happen but I am too damn old to join the military to serve on board of the ship. Peh.
