@ Rain - Which makes the abuse he gets later more or less justified. He acts more morally stilted compared to the regular story. Ichika also acts more helpful and chivalrous in the re-write.

For one, I plan to change the pace of Kyuukai's and Laura's relationship. The next, I plan to edit the battle scenes and make them more realistic and still action packed with more detail.

Actually, that's pretty much it. I might give other characters, both canon and original, some more spotlight.

Wins fights not through brute strength anymore. In man vs man, he wins at a good rate. But himself vs IS, much less often. I'm severely downgrading his weapons.

He'll be famous, but controversial famous. He'll still have fangirls, but he'll have as many supporters as there are critics.

There's one thing that makes no sense to me: Government and Spec ops missions CANNOT be shown to the public. Remember that the IS are sports machines and it's only because of that label that the world hasn't plunged to world war III. If everyone and their grandma knew about what was happening, it'd look extremely pointless.

Also, how skilled is he now? Can he still beat just about everyone in CQC and gunplay?

The only thing publicized for Kyuukai was his involvement in the second conflict.

In close quarters, he can kick ass, but there will be people who will kick his ass. He's just a fair bit more fit than the average 17 year old male student.

In gunplay, his skills are more or less the same.

Also, there have been no public incidents of IS abuse since the second conflict.

Again, why would his name be publicized? Spec ops in real life have their names concealed, and shouting him out is basically saying "Look at us, we're using 15 year olds as soldiers! That's not asking for a lawsuit or anything!".

Nope, this time around he was found out because he snuck out and disguised himself to fight. Tabane was furious.

And his identity was found because there was footage of him fighting and cleaning up, plus doing some charity work while dressed as a soldier. At this age, he couldn't pass as an adult.

And quite naturally, there were inquiries, leading to his identity being revealed.

Or, I scrap that and use my original idea I have stored somewhere.

For what's going on at my end, most likely my fic's not going to have a 2nd arc.

Still seems a bit far fetched. Many child soldiers and spec ops get caught on camera, and they don't get publicized. Inquiries would be told with a flat out "No." when asked. Look at Sousuke Sagara and Leon Scott Kennedy. They do amazing things that are very groundbreaking. Do they get publicized and famous? Nope. That's because proper government procedure and doctrine is "Nobody gets outed".

Precisely, two for each arm. The blade emitter seems to be wide enough, unless you plan to reduce it's size.

If an IS, let say the Uchigane, gives its katana to another unit and the Uchigane reverts to standby form, does the katana disappear?
