While I never saw Soul Eater, this anime seems somewhat interesting. Is it just me or that Maka girl is like the female gothic version of Mickey Mouse?

I checked an episode out of curiosity since it had the Soul Eater name... wow, is this series even Bones? It looks pretty terrible.

To be honest I have liked it from the start ... it is actually one of my faves of the season. And not just the music side of it - the lyrics are quite nice and very fitting for the series in general in my opinion. I feel as if it is a song that Tsugumi would sing for Anya or Meme and vice versa. ^^

They're closer to the original manga designs. While I won't say they're not awkward, calling them a "re-design" is I think the wrong way to think of it, and probably hurts your enjoyment.

Frankly, this is a spin-off of the Soul Eater manga anyway, not the anime. It's a prequel so it may not be noticeable, but there are a few things in it that are not in continuity with the Soul Eater anime.

anyone know how long the anime will go for? 12 eps will be a damn hell rushed and not fun to watch at all, 24 will be awesome but 24 ep anime are so damn rare these days

I think there are only 12 eps worth of blue ray discs scheduled to be released, so most have assumed 12.

No idea, but for the moment I am enjoying it - I guess split cours is a possibility, but I don't remember hearing anything about it or seeing it on the common news sites (for what that is worth and based only on skimming the titles of articles, of course).
