Has Crunchyroll crashed for anyone else? Been trying to load the episode, but no progress yet. I've been really looking forward to this show, but didn't realize there would be this much demand. Unless its something else today, but not sure what that could be.

Anyway, it's good to see this series running again. Feels like old times like 11 years ago when I first came across CCS in Animax. |

Except Tomoyo is still using her good old video camera. |

The design of the light switch also looked very modern.
Well, let's just chalk it up to them wanting modern viewers to be able to identify with the setting. Kids nowadays probably don't even know what a landline is. Other than that nothing's really changed. Atmosphere is more or less the same. And also, the voices sound just as I remember. Pretty impressive, after all this time. And this from the ED:

Ah, I can't handle the nostalgia. Its so wonderful to see the manga finale animated after all these years. And of course it wouldn't be CCS without an ominous dream. Aw, the emotion from seeing Sakura and Syaoran together at last (rather than just Syaoran not being able to spit it out).
I just chalk up all the "new" tech to Tomoyo's influence, she was already handing out cell phones (or maybe they were walkie-talkies?) years ago. Its still kind of strange to see Kero go from something like an SNES to PS4 though. And of course Tomoyo's happy to have more opportunities for Sakura costumes. Really looking forward to the rest of this series. Though I kind of wish the original CCS had just stayed a happily ever after, but as long as CLAMP doesn't get too outlandish (as in no Tsubasa references hopefully) this should be good too. |

Not only did they decide to stick to the Anime ending (which still works one way or another), they also changed the timing of Syaoran's return, which, to me, also seemed to work better than in the Manga.
The tech-evolutions were quite funny to watch, to them 20 years may seem to pass like from one day to another A nice way to kick the new series off, gotta see how it'll unfold. Too bad the Manga translation seems to be in hiatus...for a while already... |

The nostalgia , I'm glad it's back. Just finished watching ep 1. As it was to be expected they had to keep up with the tech-evolution. Glad to see Sakura again and her cute moments . Looking forward to the other episodes.

I watched all 70 episodes of the original not long ago in order to prepare for this.
I was in high school from 98-02 so I had forgotten a lot about what happened as it's such a long time ago. Spoiler for My comments for episode 1:

That was really good. I was hit with nostalgia and it felt great seeing the characters again. I love the style of the storytelling too with the light humor and character chemistry, especially between Sakura and her friends/family.
Kinda curious how they plan to adapt this with 22+ episodes. This new season definitely assumes you have seen/read the original franchise so I recommend watching those before jumping to this. The theme songs are nice too. Very good start overall.

I had a big smile on my face throughout the whole thing. So nostalgic to see Sakura and her friends and family again (though some are missing, goodbye Rika). It did feel weird to see Sakura sending e-mails and everything, but I'll get used to it soon enough.
The OP was great. Sakura's costume is gorgeous in it.
