They should do 10 Semi-mega servers. This mega server sounds risky.

It's likely the "mega-server" is heavily sharded, so it being "one server" would only be an illusion of sorts.

See this?

That's a screenshot of TES Online. Why does it matter you ask?
Well, the person asking for aid for his poison problem is an ARGONIAN.

You know? Swamp people? Immune to poison?

What are they going to do next, tell us to teach him how to swim?

Who ever writing the quests have no idea about any of the lore.

Maybe there is a poison for Argonians after all?

And we could have Nords who DIED in a blizzard!

I signed up back in March. I guess I should sign up again with a different email maybe?

Leaked footage suggest it's a whole-cloth ripoff of Guild Wars 2's combat system (not the first-person Skyrim-like system we were promised) and riddled with problems.

Well at least we can say "I told you so" about TES in MMO format being a bad idea, right?

I wonder if that was approved, because Beth/Zeni can change the source material if they wish, like a more powerful poison that even Argonians are caught unawares about its potency.

I remember a quest in Skyrim were you have to help an Argonian that is suffering from "poisoning" (she even refers to it like that), who was in fact drugged and not poisoned per see.

This quest could be just like that.

True... but sadly this was already retconned in Skyrim, were they lost thier immunity to poison in favour of a health regeneration power. :-/

I obviously really like Skyrim, but TES online is... well honestly the lore aside, i don't think it will be anything like TES series.

a) defined class
b) defined skills for each class
c) not so much on world exploring as i see it.

I rather they make a more simple version of Skyrim, but with game room~ish type where each zone/dungeon you may accidentally get and meet a group of random players. But then there won't be grinding, and hard to be sustainable.

I still think it is not a good idea to make this game

The Elder Scrolls games have defined class. This is TES online, not Skyrim Online.

I've asked for grind-less MMOs before (give me a world, and stuff to do, and players, and turn us loose on it without any artificial markers for progress) but nobody seems really that interested in doing this.

So if you have all this grind, you need to hide it and/or make it interesting. Different games do this differently. WoW hides it under a metric fuckton of shiny loot (this is not so good). FFXIV 2.0 hides it under a metric fuckton of lore and backstory (this is better). Other games... don't hide it at all.

It was quite a while since i last played Morrowind and Oblivion. But i don't remember there was a defined class in both of them. Haven't played TES 1 and 2 through

It probably rotates around the Stealth-Combat-Magic inclinations as it did in Oblivion.

Gimme the Witchhunter or Spellsword. Or Bard.

They had class choices at the very beginning that would determine which skills you could level faster. In Skyrim the classes were replaced by the 3 Guardian Stones.

You are both right. But in both Oblivion and Morrowind, default class choices are horrible and everyone who want to play seriously, choose custom class. So that's why Skyrim dumped the system no one used.

(Oblivion had the extra issue that you benefit from deliberately playing the opposite of your class. So it is fun to play as a thief who is technically a wizard.)
