Kyousuke was great during that fight. The batting the enemy's Incense Grenade away, blinding another enemy with a flashlight to nullify their Incensse Grenade before knocking her out by throwing his own at her face, etc; the difference in experience is clear. Also, he denied Azalea the fight she wanted and instead focused on his objective, rescuing Higan.

Better fight scene than the previous one. Since we already got most of the exposition about summoner fights done in Opening X-02, this wasn't as hard to follow as the part with Higan and Renge. I hope this keeps up and that part was just the necessary hurdle to introduce the series's fighting system. Keeping it at the level of reminding us of individual rules when appropiate, like "summoner and vessel are transported to the Incense Grenade's place of detonation" or "you need to see the Incense Grenade's target with the naked eye for it to work" is fine by me.

Yeah, with the exposition out of the way, it's much easier to understand. Also, the Facts section is a useful reference guide. I hope Js06 will translate the Battle Guide introduced in Vol 2.

Loved how Kyousuke schooled those Government Summoners in the most unconventional fashion while barely using Higan.

Kyousuke and Higan resupply at Lu's place and prepare to search for Renge the next day. We also discover a bit about Lu's past as she gives a weapon to Higan, interesting. I didn't see Azalea being with Guard of Honor coming, now Kyousuke can't run away and will have to fight her.

Ditto to that. Though I hope she fails to summon the White Queen…just because it's too early to see Kyo suffering.

Yeah, it fits in with Index quite well. They don't really have to throw a huge info dump either for the battle, just lay it out in bits like Kyousuke vs Government.

I've only read what's been translated, but from what I've read the difficult thing would be to get the first summoner fight with Renge and Higan right, since it basically establishes the fighting system of the series. It would probably be easier to understand with visuals than with just text, anyway. So far the novel seems easier to adapt than Heavy Object (there you can't really escape infodumps, the explanations of the Object and their weakpoints are key to the series).

Actually it would be kind of hard to adapt, since the battle is literally a game of pool, they need to make up a score board to keep track of the letter balls each person hit, and it needs to be constant changing. So the battle would need to have a small separate screen on the side keeping track of the count of white balls and red balls hit.

However, this series is getting pretty good treatment with its own webpage (usually reserved for series' that are being or have been animated) and getting their own introduction page for Kyousuke and the White Queen in Kono LN ga Sugoi's character portion for ranking pretty high despite being a new series.

And it's definitely easier to do this and succeed than Heavy Object.

Well, heavy Object is extremely info-centric, you have to cramped word in if you want animated 100%

Glad to see this series getting some updates recently. I'm curious to see how far technology runs in this series as well like the Hornet, Quad Motors, etc.

Higan is also such a strange girl. I want to know more about her.

So there's something special about Renge and Higan, unless all summoner-vessel twins can do the synchronization thing in this world. Also, Azalea wants to achieve the same thing Kyousuke did in the past, and we get a few more rules for the summoning system, with the interesting one being the two ways to summon an Unexplored-class Material.
