Yeah, that and the dance moves movie on the phone from the same anime they are in.

I was expecting some kind of joke about the absurdity of Patty having those things... I guess they couldn't think of a good one.

I give it a perfect ten. A good ending to a great anime, if you ask me.

The only thing that kinda bothered me at the end of the final episode was that we didn't get to see their graduation...now that would have been interesting to see.

While a new season might be overkill a few ova's might not be bad. If we can see the graduation.

yea I wouldn't mind for a few OVA's showing the graduation and their transition to college. I mean I was caught off guard after the curtains went up for their performance and it all went white, I was expecting a graduation scene, but that was it.
Maybe DVD extras when the DVD's catch up to this episode?
But I think an OVA will do fine in trying to extend their story a little bit more.

I'm glad we didn't see the graduation simply because it leaves room for a few OVAs down the road.

I'm kind of curious to see how the manga will handle things -- does the author intend to 'freeze time' ala Peanuts or will the adventure have a definite 'chapter of life' closing like Azumanga Daioh did?

I'll go with the time freeze. Obviously the anime does have a rather real flow of time, but Lucky Star (manga) is not that realistic to not be able to pull the time freeze.

Question to manga readers; didn't volume four had a joke at the end about them graduating? (I can't read japanese that well)

It doesn't look like a graduation joke...at least not to me.

I have the raws for Volume 5, and the four main girls are still very much the center of the manga, and they haven't graduated at all.

What I'm really interested is that by around Volume 4, the series introduced a ganguro girl that never appeared in the anime, and gave her a bit more appearances in Volume 5. She is apparently in the same year with Yutaka, Minami, Patty, and Hiyori. She's an avid gamer and gambler, and it looks like she just might have crappier luck than Hiyori.

Volume 5 (if not earlier) also introduces Ryoo Gakuen's doctor, who seems to be a very calm if not somewhat airheaded woman with pretty long hair. Think Rika-chan from Higurashi, twice as tall, with a totally spaced out face. She, like Minami, likes to protect and help others.

What I'm thinking is that the author plans to slowly shift the weight of the focus over to the Yutaka-Minami-Patty-Hiyori group and shift the Konata-Hiiragis-Miyuki group back a little bit while giving them at least one strip per chapter.

Lucky Star is not yet licensed for R1 (US/Canada). No company has announced it yet though it would seem likely it might follow the Suzumiya licensing route.

New members, be sure and read the forum rules (they are enforced).

Funny you should mention that...

I've checked the whois on the Network Solutions website and just today (9/30) luckystaranime.com was registered... to some company in Malaysia I think, but that could easily be a front.

Make that what you will.

It is listed on the KadoUSA site, but in the "available titles" section along with tokikake and mamoru-kun, which I guess means that it is 'available' for some other company to license, which also suggests that KadoUSA aren't planning to release it themselves.
