This chapter is just one of many examples of Irises affecting personal values. Houjou can see labels, so he's concerned with public reputation. Hijiri went through depression because he could see death. Yuki gained a strong sense of justice from being able to detect lies.

Like Koyuki said in the first chapter, Irises filter everyone's perspective. It's not necessarily a bad thing that Toru is an Iris Zero.

Hey, high school kids can be fickle. Even if high school is a common setting, it really is the time where drama is at its highest. People learn to cool down in college, and in elementary/primary school the kids are too young and carefree.

Although it was a nice chapter...but I want to see Koyuki. Hope that the next chapter is about Toru X Koyuki thing. I want more.

Erm, with her birthday coming up we are probably gonna see the strongest Toru x Koyuki flag ever. That or something really bad could happen (which would still end up in having a flag between them).

It'll probably heavily involve Houjou in some way, because he likes Koyuki and oh man does he hate Toru.

Why Honjou? Everyone loves Koyuki.

It would be nice to see a bunch of evil guys join force to exterminate Tor's existence.

I wonder, how many labels does Toru's body had. Honjou probably don't understand how Toru can live his life with no problem when everyone resent him, and that is why Honjou hates Toru so much. Maybe...

Just reread the whole series again for the 3rd time boy it sure doesn't get old... The way I see it, the plot can go 2 very distinct whys, it can have a very serious plot like in the Iris hunter arc or go about see sort of like one off adventures like the field trip school festival or the saddest would be if it goes for an early finish.

Serious plot wise it was interesting and full of suspense and was basically used to fully introduce the 2 characters that we see in the Omakes but who do not always get the attention of main characters. So with the conclusion of the Iris Hunter arc, the whole 'gang' I suppose is introduced and from here they could go about solving more problems or having everyday school life's... It should get interesting.

There's one detail: When Yuki first sees the phone straps, she thinks it's cute - but too cute for herself - and disregards it. When Toru points it out and everyone agrees that it's cute and fits Koyuki, she feels down as she thinks to herself that it doesn't fit her because she's not as cute as Koyuki. Tokita sees that and comes up with having everyone get one. Now... did he do that with his Iris (he noticed that she likes someone in the group) or did he just notice that she's down like a normal person would?

Spoiler for chapter 25: Nanase's in trouble and wants Hijiri to help. Before she laid out her request, he jokingly asked if she was about to ask him out. Yes, she was. Sort of. Awkward. It looks like Nana told her mother, to her delight, that she would introduce her boyfriend to her. That boyfriend was probably Houjou, but now after all that madness for all 15 chapters ago, Hijiri is about the only person she can present. So, yes, they're pretending. Hijiri is having trouble taking it seriously, and even tried to suggest the other two guys, but Kuga ruled them out. Hijiri and Mrs. Kuga seem to start with completely negative impressions of each other. Mrs. Kuga is probably obvious, but Hijiri is convinced that she's going to kill him (hey, he even started with thinking that she's in a female motorcycle gang, dude that's awesome). Nana saw that in the wings too, so that's not reassuring. Oh, and black butterflies. The bane of his existence. "Uhhhh... I... would like to not die today." Toru wears reading glasses? They don't really fit him. (I can't tell whether this is funny or serious, but I'm guessing this is a comedy arc. Ten dollars for Mrs. Kuga's trying to kill a rat or mourn for some near-dead pet. Very vigorously.)
