hm, despite the vague synopsis and title, found the 1st episode interesting.
Nike is spunky, the two streetrats with her are annoying though.

And not a fan of the shady militarymen trying to overthrow the fair king plot.
Looking forward to how this develops.

I don't have anything against arranged marriage subplots at all, especially if its in a setting where it would make sense for it to exist. And even then a modern arranged setting was one of my favorite animes last season with Mikakunin.

Pretty pleased by the first episode (it's anime-only). It intrigued me enough to go read the manga. But yeah, I like political + romance things.

I agree. The reveal at the end was the only downer in an otherwise great episode.

Well since this is based on a manga published in a shoujo magazine, the king was bound to be a prick or a jerk since he's the main love interest.

Very pleasant premiere. It hasn't amazed me for now but it's definitely worth giving it a chance.

Excellent episode overall... I'm really looking forward to Episode 2, though I'm not looking forward to the wait (I'm used to watching series in episode batches)

From the way this series is heading, it seems to be in the same vein as Spice & Wolf and MaoYuu, at least in terms of politics being interwoven to the plot.

An okay first episode.

My Thoughts:
I haven't read the manga in a long time so I don't remember how faithful it is. I'm kinda sure they added filler, but that doesn't mean it detracted from the episode.

Kinda wished they saved the opening at the end, kind of ruined the surprise that the king was a kid.

The voice acting was pretty good overall, I do like Nike's voice.

Nike seems like a very strong character, already like her. Looking forward to seeing more of her abilities and what she will do in the Sun empire.

Animation was decent, not great but definitely not bad either.

Will give this another couple episodes before deciding to drop or not.

Pretty much this. ONLY Nike would have done such a thing.

Anyways, we will also finally get a proper look at Sun God Ciel next episode. Can't wait till violent bishoujo and scheming shouta gets together.
