Mahoutsukai no yome (The Ancient Magus Bride)
Mahoutsukai no yome (The Ancient Magus Bride) has domain registered. Should be interesting to see this getting an anime considering the growing popularity as an unique fantasy series. Plot Summary: Quote:

There is one for the manga proper, but this one is anticipating a possible anime adaptation. If it happened that would be absolutely fantastic - this manga is one of my favorite ones out there at the moment.
For others curious in English sources: http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/dail...en-name/.98207 And another summary: "Chise Hatori has lived a life full of neglect and abuse, devoid of anything resembling love. Far from the warmth of family, she has had her share of troubles and pitfalls. Just when all hope seems lost, a fateful encounter awaits her. When a man with the head of a beast, wielding strange powers, obtains her through a slave auction, Chise's life will never be the same again. The man is a "magus," a sorcerer of great power, who decides to free Chise from the bonds of captivity. The magus then makes a bold statement: Chise will become his apprentice - and his bride!"

Another one that's not at all surprising. This manga and Otoyomegatari have probably gotten more critical accolades than any other manga over the past few years, and this one is the better seller.
I haven't read enough to really have an opinion apart from a snap response, which is that this series has quite an odd sensibility to it. I didn't quite get the sensational critical response, but it may just be a series that takes a while to draw you in.

Yup, this series has quite a poignant and magical feeling to it. The characters are likable and the world compelling. I'm positively looking forward to this. Now if we also got an adaptation for Majou no Shinzou...

I read quite a few chapters of this this a while back due to how highly received it is but eventually I just gave up because it just didn't grab my attention much. However, I can see this being another "Akagami no Shirayuki-hime" where I find the anime form far more engaging.
I'm really hoping the skull dude ends up being voiced by Jouji Nakata though. I just can't imagine any other voice now...

Whoa!
I knew it was only a matter of time at one point, due how surprisingly popular it is in Japan, but it's still great news. EDIT: Quote:

Hmm...three OVA's it looks like, eh? And prequel material as penned by the mangaka for these OVA's? Interesting.
In any event, moved to the OVA/Movies section for now.
