PC game that requires....
fast reflex and quick thinking to execute good decisions and actions under a startle reflex. I will take any genre and the not too old and preferably single player
Doom 3 is an example. It requires reflex and thinking quick to shoot accurately when the demons pop out of nowhere. Thank you in advanced if helped |

Most FPS games tend to rely on reflexes, and have some degree of problem solving, as well as certain parts where smart decisions are important (shooting a barrel to harm a target as opposed to wasting ammo etc)
The only FPS game I've liked in recent years was F.E.A.R, though STALKER was promising, I didn't end up liking it as much. This should be in the suggestions or games forum, though. Not general. ^^; |

Startle reflex? Try FEAR. I never played it, but I watched some demos and wooh - creepy! You go straight from hard action to being alone, and then... It's classified under the horror genre, supposedly modeled after the Japanese style.
It looked fun, but avoid it if you get nightmares easily.

Naw. F.E.A.R honestly isn't that scary. A few jumps the first time you play through, maybe. Though most of them are led up to, thus expected (just like Doom3). It's really not that scary. Just a good, solid FPS game with a vaguely reasonable story, and most importantly, the best AI of any FPS to date, due to the logical and sensible way it was designed, over every prior FPS.

Halo 2 vista and Halo Pc requires strategy beyond the normal. Team work quick reflexes and a steady hand and great timing and perfection of skill. Im at the moment a halo 2 semi pro that plays with alot of pros and halo 2 is one the funnest games that you will play that requires strategy and team work

try Unreal Tournament series with the game difficulty set up a lot higher, or try it on multi player, specially instagib mode.. its chaos sometimes
(i prefer the old GOTY edition before 2004 but a new UT is coming out this year and it looks awsome) |

Recently i'm playin counterstrike on the net with deathmatch game mode (you'll spawed right after you died on random place and free choice of weapon).
With assault rifle/smg it just ordinary but when using shotgun it's really heart pumping...

Try Quake 4, it's really fun playing online. Tho it's a little more brutal than UT04. You gotta think fast, cuz you might get hit by that rocket.. or get sniped while your dodging the rocket...Anways, lots of thinking here, the only downfall is that people havn't learned to control the character fully yet, so I've layed down, til the fresh meat gets a little more experienced than thier now
This game is a little speedier than most brutal FPS games, sure the 5 rocket thingie in UT was overdoin it, but sure... |
