Of course, there's Kuuko > Shizu, but that's about as exciting as it ever got... Oct. 1st will definitely be a high vote day (E2-4, which is the most exciting match of 2nd round featuring 2009 Final rematch + a strong Saki girl, and F2-4, which feature Eru v. Shirakiin). At the break, I'm 15-1 for 2nd round. Outside of Kuuko > Shizu, which not many people see coming, 2nd round so far has been extremely predictable.

Picks: 0-2 (9-7, 63-49)
Predictions: 2-0 (14-2, 85-27) Half of R2 over and now the hard part begins. Picks: Sakuno, Yui Predictions: Kurumi, Yui A lot of tough matches to predict in the coming days. Kurumi probably has the edge, although Yumi did manage to get 460 with the Saki combo. No help this time around.

I was wrong to pick Ui in the first match. While she fought hard, Cure Peace managed to narrowly get by her. In the second match it was Makoto and not Saber that challenged Louise. Louise had a lot more trouble than I thought she would. There's a world of difference between how Makoto did here and how she did against Louise in preliminaries. It really shows how much the Idolm@ster characters have improved. However, a loss is a loss and it still wasn't enough to beat Louise.

Well with the past two days of matches now behind us. The results having been 'difficult' to track (to say the least); though not as unexpected at first glance. We are left with what might be the "Blockbuster Match of the Round" in prospect. Featuring forty per cent of the "Rie Kugimiya Wonders" finally facing off against each other. The winner faces yet another group final showdown. Nagi Sanzen'in also faces the prospect of becoming the "Sir Donald Bradman/ Wayne Gretzky" of the tournament, and 'still' never to have won it outright. An achievement that has already saved her show from the dreaded 'under-preform' tag.Louise De La Valliere also has the chance to cement herself a place as one of the biggest 'upset merchants' the tournament has had in it's eleven year history. A mouth watering event in it's own right. I wonder how the rest of the blocks pan out from here, will Saki still steam-roll or will the former cream of the crop rise to the top again?
My own Half-Century UP for 2012.

While Yumi looked great in Round 1, she was helped out a lot by the other Saki characters in the match. She's not going to do that well without the help. However, her round 2 opponents aren't really that strong. While I think she might have a chance to win even without the Saki help, Uryuu Sakuno will probably come out on top. While not as strong as Kyouko or Akari, Funami Yui is far from a pushover. Seraphim is probably the weakest character in Round 2 and Hercule isn't really all that strong. Yui should win.
Votes: Kajiki Yumi Funami Yui Predictions: Uryuu Sakuno Funami Yui

If you're looking for a great hockey player that never won it all, Eric Lindros would probably be at/near the very top of the list.

It is more like the two of those mentioned were, and still are 'that' level above the rest in their respective fields. Coincidently Sir Donald Bradman only won the Sheffield Shield as a player three times, however only one time (in his first season of twelve) for his adoptive South Australia, if memory serves his only time winning it as a captain. Nagi stands on the precipice of achieving the same level of being head and shoulders above the other girls with this tournament.

And 2nd half start...with 2 fairly tame matches...
Pick: Kurumi, Yui Prediction: Yumi, Yui E2-1 is impossible to predict...all 3 girls are same strength. I'm giving Yumi the edge for being from Saki, but that's about it...

Yumi doesn't really put up much of a fight in the end. Despite my worries, Sakuno takes the win fairly easily. Yui also has no problems taking down her opponents. Overall vote totals for the matchs turn out to be pretty low, though.
While she has decent opposition, Sanya is pretty tough to beat. I think she'll win the first match. Kirame is one of the stronger Saki characters which makes her very tough to beat. Like Sanya, her opponents are decently strong but they shouldn't be able to win. Votes: Sanya V. Litvyak Hanada Kirame Predictions: Sanya V. Litvyak Hanada Kirame
