Kurosawa's doing pretty well for herself as well... dat Aikatsu and Cinderella Girls money.... she's clearly on the rise....

Not like casting new seiyuus is a bad thing anyway, need more Ari Ozawa later this year....

It's better this way.

People get mad that no guys are shown in the PV and than other people get mad when it's not a yuri show after watching the pvs only showing girls.

Win win

I can see the latter happening in this series case unless Kyoani rapes the novel like in Chu2byo.

Isn't it funny how the knowledge that KyoAni is behind an anime makes people LESS interested in it these days? In the past KyoAni's name being attached to an adaptation used to be huge news and a stamp of quality. How far this studio has fallen.

Well I can't speak for everyone, but this is absolutely true for me. Though kyoani is hardly the only studio (and definitely not the worst) that I put the "caution" tag on. Silver Link and Deen I consider worse. And of course Xebec, Seven Arcs, Feel etc. but those don't really count since I don't really consider them studios (harsh I know).

You know seriously, Kyoani might as well just ditch the pretension and just do a full ham idol show - I would actually watch that. I mean A-1 and Sunrise are doing it with Idolmaster and Love Live so they might as well do it too. And because it would have zero false advertising I will be much less annoyed. But ffs stop pretending to be pretending to do something else whilst defaulting back to your usual moe or high school slapstick comedy shit like they did in Kyoukai no Kanata. It's the one reason I didn't really care about Free rather than complain about it since it knew what it was from the beginning due to how it was advertised.

She played non-aging ojou in Akuma no Riddle. Somehow closer to this although still not the same

I'm definitely one of those people of which seeing Kyoani attached to the name is an instant turn off (though not as bad as say Silver Link or Deen, and to a lesser degree Shaft), but of course these things aren't a monolithic entity and staff is a factor-- though of course more casual fans like me just look at brand names. So go ahead and throw a hissy fit that I'm just generalizing people's precious writers and shit. Who gives a fuck; just enjoy the show!

Is it fair? Nah. To phrase it more lightly, I don't necessarily think they need to have "fallen" but rather my own tastes have shifted away. So no need to make angry posts and shit. I do remember their art for their last work ABP was getting quite nice but sadly the show was a bust.

As for the trailer and art, I'd have to say it's looking fine though. (nice feet/legs, nice sax, I guess? I gotta admit, when it comes to female Kyoani designs these past few years, I tend to not look at their face ) But the whole Watanabe/Kano wannabe thing I can't shake off, still that doesn't preclude it from being a nice diversion though.

Legs, thighs, thighs, legs.

Do we know what kind of music we can expect from this show? The PV lures people in with big band music, but this looks like a concert band, going by the instruments seen so far (tuba, euphonium, trumpet, trombone).

I think we should expect little music from this show and more high school and moe antics like the majority of Kyoani shows have been. For every Watanabe/Kano jazz scene there will be 10+ K-on scenes.

On the contrary, it was during Kyoukai no Kanata that I discovered that I may just be a fan of Kyoani's more recent productions. K-ON!, Hyouka, Chuunibyou and Amagi Brilliant Park just captured me in a different way as productions of other studios, and to think that I was an anime fan that cared little about that.

As for studios "declining"? Times change, and not only KyoAni has definitely suffered from it. Gone are the days of Haruhi and Lucky Star. People should start trusting KyoAni if they actually want the studio to return to their golden times, or at least understand that the road ahead isn't as smooth as Kumiko's thighs.

Speaking of which, you take Kumiko. Reina's mine. >:3

That's reminds me of VA casting in Shirobako. Perhaps... maybe... the director really push them to be the VA and someone like Zuka (Shirobako) finnaly able to made her debut.

Anyway, really love those Music in the PV.

With all honesty, all of them already had lead or major roles in some other series, just not a lot. I like when they use such cast: they have experience, and yet you do not hear them that often.

ANN:
Minako Kotobuki as Asuka Tanaka
Instrument: Euphonium
A third-year high school student. She is the vice president of the brass band club, and also leads the bass section. Like Kumiko, she plays the euphonium. Her standoffish nature has brushed people off time and again. Her red-rimmed glasses are her trademark.

Saori Hayami as Haruka Ogasawara
Instrument: Saxophone
A third-year high school student. She is the president of the brass band club, and also leads the saxophone section. She plays a baritone saxophone. She has a kind heart as she leads the brass band club.

Minori Chihara as Kaori Nakaseko
Instrument: Trumpet
A third-year high school student. She leads the trumpet section. The madonna of the brass band club, who everyone yearns for.

Haruki Ishiya as Shūichi Takamoto
Instrument: Trombone
A first-year high school student. Kumiko's childhood friend. In middle school, he played the horn, but in high school, he was assigned to the trombone.

Takahiro Sakurai as Noboru Taki
The new music teacher in Kitauji High School. Serves as the adviser to the brass band club.
