Yeah. May you make an embarrassing mistake next time you play a retro video game!
Seriously, I only checked out the manga after the anime was cancelled, to see what the hype was about. Never have I been that sorry about a cancelled anime. That would have been the perfect trip down nostalgia lane for me. And to top it off it's actually a sweet story. Oh, please, please, please get back in business, anime. |

The manga continues to sell strongly, and this is the second time it's been nominated for a Taisho (which doesn't happen all that often). Unless SNK is still blocking it (which would be incredibly stupid and self-destructive but, well - SNK) it's hard to see why the anime isn't going ahead.

Damn you guys. At first I thought, "Oh Hi Score Girl is in the upcoming anime first page, maybe it's just be a guy asking what the story is about", and then I saw Enzo's name and got excited for the announcement.
I personally wouldn't hold my breath until 2018 at the earliest for an anime adaptation. A lot of directors are fully booked for like 4 years in advance, and the copyright just being cleared from last year would mean talks would have only happened recently. I can see how they would like to accelerate the process because not only is the manga selling well and also that it is in critical acclaim, but realistically speaking I don't think it's going to happen any time soon. Heck, I've been burned by the first time that I don't think I'll even fully believe an announcement unless they have a visual PV already up, but I guess that's neither here nor there...

I'd given up on this for so long I still don't quite believe it, even though Moetron is usually reliable.
If Japan doesn't screw this up, this will be AOTY potential. The manga is fantastic and incredibly well-suited for anime.
