The very fact that Nobuna made Imagawa the shogun instead of Ashikaga (both of Seiwa Genji descend) is deviating from our history.

BTW, Buddhist nun doesn't always have to shave their head. In both Chinese and Japanese culture, a woman can still be a nun without shaving.

Yeah, and seems a wee bit unconservative move, too. It's still a move that doesn't give lipservice to the established precedent of old order. OTOH, Sumeragi has implied that Yoshiaki in this series seem to perform not as well as her RL historical counterpart....

nobuna was talking to one of her generals about what to do when the general(cant rmb who) suggested taking sagara since it would be like a pre-marriage trip but nobuna went tsun and objected. But she relented in the end and brought him along. My reading of c1 was quite bad. C2 is more interesting. First back a few days juubei was walking with sagara and she asked if he liked nobuna which he affirmed. Then when she pointed it out, he agreed that marriage was impossible due to status. But he still wanted to stay by her and achieve her dream. In the end juubei asked him to marry her(more like ordered) and kissed him before running off. Back in the present

back to the dere couple, they were walking in the forest and talking with sagara telling her about the difference between like and love( meanings). Cue more dere-ness and he almost confessed before juubei broke in!

Juubei had misunderstood sagara and because of them running off, she thought he had drugged her and kidnapped her. She even drew her blade against nobuna's brother, before galloping off to catch them. She succeeded in interrupting them and with her misunderstandings, pissed off nobuna which led to a full blown admittion of their relationship by nobuna. But...juubei STILL thought nobuna was drugged/hypnotized and demanded sagara marry her to protect nobuna(yeah right miss denial). In the end it led to this. Nobuna:" Who will you pick?! Will you pick her or choose her and die!" Juubei:"Senpai if you dont pick me, i will kill you to protect nobuna-sama!"
He "ran" and they chased after him before he crawled out of a hole with the help of someone, i think it was the ninja, before departing for the talks alone.

She has absolutely no ability to read the atmosphere and thus comes to rather crazy conclusions in her own mind. You can say that in spite of her being proficient in both the sword and the brush, her absolute honesty causes her to be a complete krutz in romantic situations.

I wouldn't say it's actually denial. More of it's connected to the inherent characteristics of her which I wrote right above. She's so much of that characteristic that she doesn't even realize her feelings and moves by instinct.

So according to Matsunaga, Nobuna is someone who doesn't believe in Gods, Buddha, and spirits. And for the people from darkness such as Matsunaga and Hanbei, Nobuna is the true Great Demon Lord, the one who will pierce and cut the Ryuumyaku (Dragon Pulse/Vein but more like Dragon Mountain Range), and the one who will destroy the mechanisms for the Seals of Vengeful Spirits built on Kyouto from the root. When Ryuumyaku is cut down, the Onmyouji will disappear, just like illusions. Thus, Nobuna is the real enemy for Onmyouji such as Hanbei.

Hanbei said people like her and Matsunaga should not use their secret arts to disturb the country anymore. The time has come for them to disappear in front of the sun-ray quietly.

Juubei is in fact in love with Sagara and no one else, but with her mental process and blind spots...

It's kind of like this: She loves Sagara and wants to marry him, but in her mental processes, love = does not compute. It's like the subject is a mental blind spot (when you see her reasoning to herself, it's always some thing like "love? No, no way, that're no way that's possible"). Therefore, her attempt at rationalizing her feelings and fitting them into her conscious beliefs and preconceptions turns her logic a bit... strange...

Thus, her reasoning can be mostly represented by such an equation:
Personal feelings - conscious acknowledgement of all matters pertaining to romance -> wacky justification and reasoning.

Here's an example:
In love with Sagara and wants to marry him - all data pertaining to love -> reasoning: Sagara is brilliant, but his one major flaw is his weakness for women, which could bring problems for Oda. Therefore, the best solution is for someone to marry him and hopefully calm him down, and since she's the only one suitable (Nobuna's out due to differences in status, and the rest are either uninterested or too young), it'll just have to be her.

This also works for other cases, such as her finding out that Sagara and Nobuna ran off together (they were basically eloping/trying to take a secrete honeymoon together).

Seeing the two together - the ability to consciously accept that the two are in love -> Reasoning: Sagara used some strange power to hypnotize/ensnare Nobuna.


Also, in the start of volume 7, we see that the power of being in love did allow her to bypass her usual denseness on the matters of the heart: It made her unconsciously extremely sensitive to the fact that there's something between Nobuna and Sagara that she doesn't like (it's called jealousy Juubei-chan). Of course, this did nothing for her conscious knowledge and reasoning, so she's running about then cockblocking Nobuna and Sagara under the wacky reasoning that's been mentioned above...
