This choice was so surprised me, because most of OP theme of Muv-luv series anime & games were sung by Minami Kuribayashi.

Considering the lack of such, I'll more than likely predict that there is not much effort or care put into the overall product in this since Liden Films are still too busy flaunting around with Sekkou Boys even though they didn't start airing yet.

In other words, it'll most likely get the same treatment as Total Eclipse and this is speaking from the visual aspects of what I've seen in the first key visual (thanks to the thin outlines and a rather flat color design).

No, it's focused on the Germany East-West strife.


@moodie, if by first season you mean Total Eclipse then no. Since TE happens a few decades later.

It's not a first season, both are spinoffs of the original VN franchise and are very distant from each other, with Total Eclipse being set in Alaska in 2001 and Schwarzesmarken being set in East Germany in 1983.

While Total Eclipse shouldn't be necessary to watch before this anime, I'd strongly advise playing Muv-Luv and Muv-Luv Alternative before getting into any Muv-Luv spinoff because besides being one of the best VNs ever, they introduce the world setting really well.

Pretty sure we told you you don't need to watch Total Eclipse to understand this, just go find english translations of integral works or download the Game with english patch to understand whats going on.

I probably asked this before lmfao but I forgot just needed more confirmation. Last time someone told me I could watch the new Utawarerumono without watching the prequel and apparently they were wrong because it was a sequel not a alt time line.

I don't even know what idiot called new Utawarerumono alternative timeline. It was always meant as a sequel. New main characters =/= alternative timeline.
