Yah,the raging nya ball scene fly by as fast as the ball itself lol
I would preferred to see more Rin's serious rage in the scene to show the audiences how important those cats is to her. The pencil thingy whatever it called appeared whenever the lovestruck guy got depressed is just......bad and weird ^^" And Kengo sure fall down slow enough for that guy to run toward him and then just suddenly teleport on the ground for the throw.I guess it all in the how to look cool technique LOL Oh well at least we know not to mess with Kengo and how to pick up chick in this ep ! |

I haven't watched it yet, but I'm pretty confident it is not how this guy here represented it, heh. |

Whoa... not that's a very shortened scene... I'm not even sure if it was needed altogether considering how they just cut most of the raging nyan ball scene. Also, for some reason, they made Sasami trying to brush it off, despite it was the very definite "rivalry" scene.
And... well, I can't help but feel the development went a bit on the left side when they just put Sasami like that for the hell of it. In fact, considering her very very low involvement (on the same level than poor Kengo in general), they could simply kept her as side character without any specific interaction instead. In the end, this episode served really nothing in the general progression of the plot, especially it was a momentum break, since next episode will be Kud's route. Talk about an awkward progression.

I thought this ep was to remind viewer about the secret of the world since Kud route will shed some more light on it but it didn't seem like they put much effort into the secret part.

What I mean is if you want to pick up chick then don't do what that guy did ! Like they said,if you can't be a good example then be a horrible warning. |

Kinda wondering how they're planning on pacing the rest of the series. I can understand them cutting sasami to 1 episode, but we still have Kud, Kurugaya, and Rin. Full routes so far have generally been given 3 episodes a piece.

Long-term pacing issues, aside, I found this episode absolutely hilarious. The staff managed to nail the humor of the common route just like they did with episode 15. If only they could have been this competent for the first few episodes.

... but honestly, the episode was too entertaining for me to mind. Very fun, amusing episode, and it's always nice to get more Rin. |

I'm surprise people still haven't got used to the randomness of the show at this point...It was just like the test of courage ep b4 Mio's arc.
The reason why people have problem is because of the Sasami's focus,if this was just another random LB gang ep then I doubt anyone would complained. Well, maybe having random ep this late into the show also have something to do with it. And while agreed this ep is out of place considered Kud's arc is next,I disagree about it has nothing to do with the plot progression. The ep showed Rin's development, compared to how she was back then as she is now. She used to be very shy, refused to make friends, rarely talk to anyone but now she can even talk to random stranger she has never met b4,come to LB! girls for advices and the biggest of all, manage to say Sasami's name right. It also showed how important the cats is to her(though like I said b4,still not really enough). I also like Riki's statement about how love is just painful sickness rather than happiness,it feel like a foreshadow for some sort of tragic love to come. This ep doesn't really serve as progression for Kud's arc but what might come after it. That or I was just having high hope again....... |

I would have preferred either
A - Have this as part of Rin's arc B - combine or AT LEAST refer to Kud's route so far rather then writing this episode as if it could have been Episode 20, 15, 12, 16, 17, etc. However, the episode itself was alright. |

Fun episode. The humor was great and we we're shown some nice character development of Rin as well. She's starting to open up towards other people more and (not completely surprising) starts to act a bit more like her brother (trying to lead the small group of 3, acting kind of bossy and starting missions).
I don't know why some people are complaining that they found this episode out of place and/or that the episode served nothing in the general progression of the plot. The main plot of this anime seems to be revolving around solving everyone's personal problems (Komari, Mio and Haruka come to mind). Until now, Rin's story has been revolving around her shyness/anti-socialness and the solving of the tasks she's been given by Lennon. As she was given another task this time around, this episode actually does progress the plot just as much as an episode in another girls' arc would have progressed the plot. Also, the anime has been animating Rin's development and her tasks between the other routes since the beginning: - episode 2: Task 1-> Fix the sanitation problem in the boys' dorm. This was just before Komari's arc began. - episode 9: Task 2 -> Save the School Cafeteria. This was just before Mio's arc began. - episode 15: Sleepover (character development for Rin). This was just before Haruka's arc began. - episode 20: Task 3 -> Cure lovesickness. This is just before Kud's arc begins. So yeah, it was to be expected that this episode or the former would be about Rin. It didn't feel out of place to me at all, especially since the former episode was pretty lighthearted as well. To me it looks like Rin doesn't seem to understand much about love yet, so she probably wouldn't know even if she were in love at this point. The way Riki is always looking out for Rin and how he's often looking at her, I'd have to say that he might be starting to like her as more than just a friend. I don't think he realizes it himself though, although Riki did blush when Kyousuke asked him who he likes during episode 15.

That's why I felt this episode absolutely badly timed exactly because it was introduced way too lately and since they have shown Sasami only twice without much rivalry interactions with Rin, you could actually have the raging nyan ball without the actual date thing (even if it is a major development point for Rin due to discussion about love). Basically speaking, Sasami feels way more of a plot device than an actual character (similarly how Kengo is completely inexistent thus far). If this episode took Komari's route timing placement, things would have been much smoother, which would actually put emphasis on Rin and Riki commitment towards Lenon 'secret of the world messages', interconnecting as well Riki and Rin efforts to help people around them (be it cafeteria incident or the girls routes). This is also even more weird when this episode was a momentum break to kud's route: I mean you have a kud centric episode, then you have a completely different environment, to then be thrown back at Kud within 1 episode. If they intended to spread event so you don't have a "girls of the week" syndrome, they should simply not clutter each girls in this fashion to begin with. The order of events are completely upside down for some reason, and frankly, it would have make much more sense to have Riki and Rin dealing with mundane school stuff prior the girls routes.
