Well, the first anime series was a work of 2006. 3D models were still a new thing back then, and banks for action scene are not that badly regarded. The animation quality was considered one of the best of the time. People were using it to try out how good Blu-ray anime is when it was introduced. (in fact I find it less blurry than some later anime Blu-rays though with some compression noises)

Considering that Aquaplus is part of Toranoana group, I think they would be generous enough on the animation budget to make it at least look good.

The dancing girl in the game OP seem to have a horn on her head? and no, Eruru and Aruru are not in the OP.......

I actually adore the visuals of the first series, and yes, it looks great on Blu-ray. But one thing that I often find dragging it down is the movements. Though it was graceful sometimes, many tmes the character & object movements are too stiff.

And yes, I know how most anime look in the 2000s (I have been watching anime since the 90s).

Are you sure? Because the girl at 1:21 looks like she could be an older Aruru, who seems to be in a position of authority somehow.

The eye and hair color match (from what I can tell, since the room in the scene is dark and light seems to be reflecting on them), and so does the ears. The way her longer hair comes out is similar to 9 years old Aruru’s shorter hair I think. And she seems to be having a flashback of something that could be the dragon thingy-form of Hakuoro. Hell, even her expression is reminiscent of when Aruru was being serious. The only discrepancy really is the tail, which I can't quite clearly see but seems way longer than originally, but that could be from differences in art style for all I know, or maybe it got that length naturally.

But then again, there's a good chance I'm wrong.

this is 2006 anime right? the visuals are good and the gore is there and I can't believe its year 2006 made. If you compere it to current anime. Its even better than some or major of the current ones.

I for one am hoping Haku isn't Hakuoro.
It's way too obvious a clue if it was, and the whole rehash of super knowledgeable man with similar look and name complete with amnesia is a bit redundant.
Besides if Haku is Hakuoro, he'd be totally cheating on his girls.

I like the setting, the first game was set in furry-Ainu while this one seems to be furry-China.

.... I wonder if there's furry-Old-West-America on the other side of that pond.
Wait, since they did Ainu for Japan, it's probably furry-Native-American-tribal in the Americas.

Haku is having a different voice actor and seems to have very different personality by description on the game site, so I think he isn't Hakuoro. Besides, if Kuon is indeed Yuzuha's child then it would be totally taboo

There is the other guy with a mask seems to resemble Hakuoro more, but by his eyes color I don't think he is.

Two more returning characters have been announced to appear in Itsuwari.
And that is Aruru and Kamyu.
Sadly, there aren't a really good look at how Aruru looks due to the low resolution(she is next to Touka at the lower left), but for Kamyu, there are a bigger image

As far as I known, it haven't been stated how many years after the first it takes place.

To give some context on the new characters(mostly only the names).
The girls names are Ururu(to the left) and Sarana(to the right).
Next is Mikazuchi, and he is a Akuruturuka(masked man)
After him there are Raikou, Mikazuchi's older brother.

I don't know why but the next guy remind me of that wimp that become military commander in the first game or anime. The one that tried to marry eruru.

The 3rd guy reminds me of kurara? Or whatever that strong sexy girl with big sword. Her brother. The one that become emperor after they helped in his rebellion.

Though the name doesn't agree with it. They just remind me of those 2.
