Episode 1
Seems like a somewhat slow start but this show turned out to be much serious than I had thought. Kabane's personality seems rather straightforward based on what he says out of his mouth. I wonder how much they plan to develop his character this season. Is it also just me or does that transformation look a little bit like Kaneki from Tokyo Ghoul? Anyways, it was an alright episode imo, has potential.

Quite a solid first episode. Funny how similar this felt to Dr Ramune but I definitely felt this one had more bite to it. Honestly have to wonder what that lady felt though. I feel like she must have raised Kabane for long time knowing what he was and what he could do. Did she feel any kind of quandary from the conclusion she came to or was she just a straight up Dursley the whole time? I guess we won't know, but it'll be nice seeing Kabane adjust to a more welcoming environment (I hope).

I admit I thought this show took place during the 60s because of the detective's car, so it was a bit of a shock that he pulled out a modern mobile phone from his pocket. I suppose that shows you the charm of remote Japanese villages the only way you can tell in what era it is, is by the technology they use.
Anyway I thought it was a great first episode and one the best ones of the season. Quote:
As for a more welcoming environment I'm going to make the boring prediction that the boy is a bit distant, the yuki-onna girl is very welcoming, boy gets jealous because of that and lash out at Kabane.

As for the innkeeper, this is something I've found to be a common theme with Aimoto series - even the (theoretically) one-off characters are interesting enough to make you want to know more about them.
