wow this thread is ridiculous, i feel like im in 2004 again...

Like Cagalli's maid said, they're using her because her adoptive father is not here and she's too young and inexperience for politics.

Therefore, that became an advantage for them to exploit her.

Probably, after the wedding, she would be stripped of her position as head of state by the Seiran family because of Unato as Orb PM.

I do't know for all of you, that's the way I see it.

IIRC, Cagalli was actually elected, but the power was held by the Seirans and all the other Orb royal families because Cagalli was still a political lightweight with no power whatsoever behind her, politically young as she is in that cutthroat world of politics, and that she needed the backing of the Seirans to support her rule. I mean, if that were the case, the Seirans would undoubtedly be afraid to touch Cagalli, for all the influence and she has over the Orb population...what Cagalli has over her people is the fact that she carries the Athha name which is respected because of their ideals and "neutrality" stand against everything that happens to go against their way. Since Yuna was in the seat of power as Cagalli was "kidnapped", Orb had no choice but to remain loyal to the one "elected" and "initiated" into that seat; that is why they had no choice but not to recognize Cagalli for who she is...
