I've never seen that show but those are pretty nice! Other than figures I collect anime, manga, western comics, movies, tv shows, and video games.

Thanks for the suggestions I'll check em out!

Tell me about it. I started collecting the bigger figurines in October 2008, and right now, more than half of the shelves in the Dotolf cabinet that I bought to hold some of my collection is filled with these figures.
Yeah I'm nearly out of shelf space here in my tiny room and there's no room for more shelves.

But I got my first nendroid today and they dont take up very much space. I never saw the appeal of these little guys and pretty much bought this one on a whim but I have to admit he is pretty nifty. I may just buy a couple more.

I generally don't recommend playasia/yesasia etc becuase they mark-up prices by quite a lot. (by that I mean sometimes up to 200%.) These are sites which are basically made for catering to a Western audience who don't mind paying a bit extra and won't hesitate to exploit that. Amiami/HLJ/Mandrake/Amazon.jp etc are much better price-wise imo.
And yes nendos are awesome ;D altho you're a bit late.. many good ones are no longer available (not counting fakes/ridiculouse mark-ups). Still better late than never

Ton of figure announcements at WonFes 2010.
Looks like 2010 is a great year for variety. The entire Figma line has me stoked and the prospect of some classic Tokusatsu series getting Figuarts.

Gah! You got the ARIA Company set from Organic! I really want that, but it keeps sliding down my list of priorities.

[edit]- Screw it... I just found a new one on ebay at a California store for $40. Scratch that one off the list. I'm too much of an ARIA fan to let it go.

I have yet to get any Figmas. Not that I don't like them, I think the faces on most of them are some of the most accurate reproductions of anime characters there are. Being able to pose them sounds totally cool. I've just been focusing on the regular PVC figures.

That new GSC Misaka Mikoto looks promising. I'd like to see some clearer pictures of it. Railgun rocks!

Wonder Festival... how I hate to love you. My wallet is going to hurt so bad. I've already got like 21 figures on pre-order, and Wonfes.... Lets see..

I want...

Alter's Amae Koromo
Good Smile Company's Black Rock Shooter Anime Ver.
Good Smile Company's Dead Master
Good Smile Company's Dead Master Anime Ver.
Good Smile Company's Senjougahara Hitagi (awesome!)
Good Smile Company's Asakura Nemu
Good Smile Company's Inaba Yui
Good Smile Company's Hatsune Miku Love is War Ver.
Max Factory's Mari Illustrious Makinami
Max Factory's Young Suzumiya Haruhi School Uniform Ver. figma
Max Factory's Young Suzumiya Haruhi Casual Ver. figma

Additionally there's a new Horo GK that looks quite good, though unpainted. A Mahoro figma, an unknown character, and so many others, I'm just getting tired of finding the links.

Nice group of links, thanks.

I wasn't sure about Senjougahara when I first started watching Bakemonogatari, but by the end (that we have so far) she really grew on me. That GSC figure of her looks fantastic! It'll definitely be on my watch list.

And that Hatsune Miku Love is War... is that speaker platform actually part of the figure or just a prop?

It has what I think captures her the way I remember her from the anime. It's not just the pose, though. It's the small details, the sculpting of the folds and creases in her outfit, expression on her face, the flow of her hair. It just has the qualities I like to see in a figure.

holy crap that Senjougahara looks great. Fingers crossed when they move from resin to PVC they can retain the same level of detail and sharpness

Of around 200 figures and figure sets, I've only taken out Puchi Nendoroids from their boxes.

I also took out my Revoltech Nanael and Airi because I've always been taking out my Revoltech mecha. I think its a kind of habit and Revoltech boxes don't really have much artistic value.

I bought all the PSP games with Figmas but I didn't open their boxes either, I downloaded those games to play.

I don't understand how people can't take them out of the box. I can't enjoy a figure when they're in the box, you can't see the details or the pose very well and it ruins the energy of the figure. They're so lacking in the box....

If I had to buy figures based on how I saw them through a box, I'd probably never have bought any at all.

The way I see it, if you keep it in the box you're trying to retain value. I never plan on reselling so it's out of the box within 5 minutes and let's face it, this isn't the hobby you plan on passing down to your kids as collectibles. Other than that, I can't really see a reason to keep it in the box unless you hate dust or have a phobia about leaners. I'm not criticizing but more vocalizing my ignorance. Care to enlighten me C.A.?

My number 1 problem is space, when you have alot of figures, you can't really find space for both figure and box. As a collector who wants to keep both box and figures, taking figures out of boxes means you need double the amount of space. Yes, I want to keep the plastic in the boxes as well, so I won't be flattening any boxes.

I've already filled all my shelves and cupboards with boxes of figures, some of them are even laid in a stack on top of a box.

I don't really think I'm keeping them boxed for value since I'm probably not going to sell any. Though I really feel that the limited ed and exclusive figures should stay in their boxes.
