Hmm, I don't know anything about Tsukihime, but Arcueid is hot. And so much sparkling!

I heard she appeared in the anime adaptation, but according to people, that anime never happened.

@Archon_Wing: Arc is indeed hot... among other things. Make sure to check out the anime + prologue slide-show, it is pretty good for a 2003 show!

And don't crucify for confessing my preference of Carnival Phantasm to non-existent anime to game's character designs

I'll save you the pain of looking at Carnival Phantasm right now, it most certainly also never happened (is what people will be saying after it airs). Since it won't exist, there's not reason for us to watch it... case closed

Not a big fan of crossovers but I'll probably watch this one, with suitably lowered expectations.

Well I finally got in my 3 copies of Carnival Phantasm (first press edition that includes the TYPE-MOON catalogue artbook) along with store exclusive bonus postcards.

Both Shiki and the audience are supposed to believe that Chaos is the mysterious vampire assailant, then Arcuied. The existence of Roa isn't even supposed to be known of until quite near the end.

SHIKI appearing in CP because of Roa's involvement in the credits, and SHIKI's lack of.

Dunno if that counts as a spoiler, but we have people in here who haven't read the vn.

That's no spoiler, you need to have read the VN in order to get it, and if you have done so, then you are already spoiled since you are watching its adaption

Not in my book, since without reading the VN or playing Melty Blood half or more of Tsukihime parts of Carnival Phantasm will be missed

why was Hisui drawing a circle with her finger the whole time?

I liked how Satsuki was left out of the volleyball game.

In the Afterschool! Alleyway Alliance, who's the 3rd girl dressed in black? This was actually my favorite part of the episode lol. I know some people think this kind of thing is too foreign for them, but I love it.

1. A homage to Hisui's joke persona, The Brainwash Detective . Her sister Kohaku has even more joke persona.

2. And that's the joke. Satsuki has always been portrayed by fans as being the one that's forgotten every time. I think it was because Nasu decided to scrap her route in the game so all the flags with her were forgotten later in game. Poor Satsuki

3. Do you mean RoastbeefRiesbyfe. She's Shion's....friend or something. I forgot the details.

Actually the back-alley alliance were originally Satsuki - White Len - Shion and then Riesbyfe. The fact that White Len hasn't appeared at all seems to me to hint that the whole of Carnival Phantasm is all her doing lol.

It has its origins from a typo on the first edition of Tsukihime (corrected later), in which Hisui's line "anata wa hannin desu" ("you are the criminal/culprit") was misprinted in the game as "anata wo hannin desu" ("you, be the criminal/culprit!"). It became an internal joke between fans that even Type Moon acknoledged it, and was the origin of Hisui "The Brainwashing Detective" personaxD

And well, Satsuki is the buttmonkey of Tsukihime MUCH more than Ciel (at least she had a route). Melty blood is based on Satsuki path which will remain hidden until the remake of Tsukihime arrives. Isnt sad Sacchin?

Riesbyfe was part of the guard that Shion had when Tatari atacked her. She was killed on that battle protecting her, but she was "restored" on a similar way to Nero by Tatari. She and Shion were supposed to be friends

Kohaku has the Mir Chin and Magical Amber persona xD

Kohaku has also been generally mischievous since Melty Blood. She had darker, more twisted reasons for what she did in Tsukihime, but from Melty Blood onwards they decided to keep traces of her darker side by just leaving her character as a devious troublemarker who's always smiling.

Since OK, kind of teaser/spoiler correction followed, but her story blew my mind, and made me half-agree with the "there is no anime adaption" crowd

In between, how do you guys rank the character designs across media?

For Tsukihime: Carnival Phantasm > non-existent anime > original game
For F/SN: Carnival Phantasm > original game > UTW movie > Fate anime
Oh! and CG Dolphin >>> CG Dragon, in place of the most awkward threesome in H-history... I really want CG worms though, best route of the game... and expansion

All designs by Takeuchi-sensei are best designs. Though I far from hate the Carnival Phantasm designs.

JC Staff promotional designs for that anime they sadly never made were unrelentingly hideous, and DEEN designs were pretty good across the series and movie.
