Maybe because he had only 1 chance for their guard to be down and he chose to aim the shard instead.

Well I'm expecting they will follow how things unfolded in the manga. Read the manga, but just posting like I would without any future knowledge. Can't see them making any major changes.

OMFG I feel soo happy for Sango and Kohaku. Dammit Kikyo is a true Heroe! I am starting to love her even more now (now that she's dead lol) cause when she was "alive" she acted way too much like a psycho-b*tch trying to c**k-block Kagome and all...

Please don't post manga spoilers, even in spoiler tags. But since we're talking about what happened in episode 20 it isn't a manga spoiler, so...

That was a totally faithful adaptation of Kohaku's "death" scene from the manga. In fact, they took one of the emotional high points of the manga and translated it superbly - my only complaint is that I wish they would have left the resolution as a cliffhanger (Rumiko did). But that's small potatoes. This was a well-earned emotional payoff to one of the longest-running emotional dramas of the series. Kohaku and Sango might be my favorite sibling pair in manga - the emotion between them is so genuine and (thanks to that rat bastard Naraku) they've had to endure so much pain. Kohaku was true to himself in the end, and brave - and Sango never gave up her faith in him. That's a great conclusion to a great arc.

The other interesting part of it is Kikyou's decision to use her light to save Kohaku rather than potentially destroy Naraku. She valued his life, even if he himself often did not - but more than that, it was through the act of saving Kohaku's life than she herself was redeemed in the end. Kikyou and Kohaku could understand each other better than anyone else, after all, having so much shared pain in common. Kikyou had "gone over to the dark side" as it were, and if all that sustained her existence was hatred of Naraku she could never be purified herself. By valuing the life of a child above her own desire for revenge she freed her spirit from all the darkness that had defiled it.

There's no reason people can't put manga spoilers in spoiler tags as long as they say it's for the manga. No one's holding a gun to anyone's head telling them to click the tags, and they talk about things that will happen in the anime.

Wow, was episode 20 quite a roller coaster ride, especially with what happened with Kohaku, Poor Rin gets taken, again. At first I thought with that glow that make Kohaku had two shards, and Naraku missed one. I forget, will this be 24 or 26 episodes?

26 eps. And as for Rin, it's her job to get captured and need rescuing - every story needs someone to fill that vital role! Well - that and subtly insulting Jaaken several times a day.

Spoiler for Episode 14:

It's always frustrating that Naraku always imposes his will and has his way when putting our heroes through any of his foolish games of cat-and-mouse chase or who-done-it.

However, what Naraku did not account for was Kikyou purifying light lingering within his corrupted Shikon no Tama reacting to Kohaku's shard, thus rendering the former unable to harm the letter. Nevertheless, Naraku always manages to circumvent any trap or failsafe thrown at him.

But, he did not expect for Inuyashas' comrades to have powered-up considerably.

Miroku's able to use his Kazaana without feeling pain, but the side-effects are that the damage will continue to build-up. On the other hand, Sango's Hiraikotsu is now capable to tear through Naraku's demonic aura with unpleasant consequences against him.

Finally watched episode 20. Aside from some brief pacing issues it was amazingly done. From the previews for next episode, it looks like one of favorite parts of the manga is going look as awesome as I hoped it would be, with everything just being literally dark and hopeless for the final battle.

I set my alarm clock to play a random MP3 song and the one that woke me up was "Fukai Mori - Do As Infinity" .... and I thought ... wouldn't it be cool if they ended Inuyasha with the very first song they started this awesome series? I mean after so many years that guitar intro still sounds very nice

Fukai Mori wasn't the first song though. The first ending was My Will by Dream I think. Although I think it would be nice if for the final episode's ending they used the original first intro, Change the World by V6. Now that would be full circle.

Ironically wasn't mine, I just think it would be appropriate. My favorite was Angelus, the final one. Shame it barely got used, it was so cool. And the 4th one, Grip, was my second fav.

I liked quite a few of the OPs for Inuyasha. But yeah Change the World was a really nice one that sticks with you.

The fifteenth episode was neither that good nor bad either, but to me it works. I believe is that the fight was not overrated with too
much anticipated hype.

Spoiler:

I perceived a dramatic change on Sesshoumaru's character.

Although he grudgingly realized it, he helped InuYasha to get the Meidou Zangetsuha on Tessaiga, though to the cost of Tenseiga discarding
its only offensive capability.

Sesshoumaru tested InuYasha's worthiness to their father's legacy for the right to Tessaiga to even play Naraku's game willingly, but Sesshoumaru
knew where to draw the line once Naraku attempted to manipulate from far away the outcome of the match.

He's still spiteful towards InuYasha but never took advantage of his younger sibling's weakened condition to deliver any killing blows while the
latter was unprepared.

At the end, both Tenseiga and Tessaigas' powers merged within the same blade with the Meidou Zangetsuha perfected.

But, this is not the end for Tenseiga. The blade show InuYasha and Sesshoumaru the way back out from the Meidou and even escaped the Meidou itself.

It's very likely to ponder that Sesshoumaru will gain a power upgrade from his own strength that doesn't come from anybody else.

I think that Tenseiga fully split from Tessaiga and now is defining its own individuality and own energy signature.

Wow episode 20 was very well done and adapted perfectly from manga to anime.


As for the recent episode a bit dissapointing as some key Naraku lines were left out, and the use of old footage seemed like a bit of a waste.

Wow... how could I have possibly forgotten that Fukai Mori wasn't the first ED in Inuyasha? .. How did I forget that is beyond me lol but I guess that was the first ED that really got stuck in my head, especially when Kikyo was resurrected and she said at the end of one of the first eps:

"I am free to hate. My soul is so much freer than it was then. Free to hate...free to love" ... and Fukai Mori starts ... ahh ... here is the video, watch from 9:46 (unfortunately the ending was cut out .. dam uploader!!)

Yeap, that was the scene that made that song unforgettable, well at least for me....

Change the world was nice but I guess I would rank it close to the first ED which was My Will... INCIDENTALLY, here is the video of them hot chicks singing that song:

Spoiler for Ep21:

Well we enter the beast to begin the battle! I suppose they had to fit in the real world portion to show how this is a key period for Kagome in numerous ways. She's really at a crossroad with High School right around the corner and the final battle against Naraku beginning. She really barely made it through this when it comes to school and the battles. Now she's still stuck without her powers unleashed and can't really fight until Sesshomaru finishes things up.

Sadly Sesshomaru is busy dealing with his own things. Really shows his growth that he just jumps in the moment the chance happens to go after Rin. Sure they could have gone and attacked that ridiculously large target, but Rin can't be sacrificed. Sadly it limits the offensive abilities of the group in general. They can't use any of the large attacks or else it could mean killing Rin. Naraku might be pulling an old trick with the hostage ploy, but it's still an effective one.

Tough time at the end for Kagome. Getting attacked by Inuyasha, falling, just not a good day apparently.
